This was my first foray into the world of Syrian Latakia. It will not be my last. I recieved this blend in a sample pack that was included with a recent order from pipesandcigars.com. It looks for all the world like a broken Virginia flake in the plastic bag. I'm used to seeing Cyprian Latakia blends cut in a finer cut flake form.  Upon opening you are greeted with a wonderful, smoky-sweet-leathery aroma that is quite pleasant and very different from a regular "English blend".  Upon firing the char light you are hit with a lot of flavor and spiciness though the spice does not seem like the tobasco of Perique. After the charring light the blend came alive provided a most delightful smoking experience. It must be smoked slowly though to avoid tongue bite. This blend can heat up very quickly! I was most pleased with it's rich smoking characteristics. The flavor changes and mixes constantly in this blend. Something that is rare for me in a Latakia blend. This Syrian Latakia is w!
ell worth experimenting with and so is this blend from Bjarne.  Overall I'd have to say the experience was great.
