These great Danish briars are comfortable and smoke beautifully! Many different finishes highlight this well made line of pipes. Erik Nørding was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Originally educated in engineering. Pipe carving began as a hobby, but as time went by, he became more interested in pipe making as a profession. During the last 40 years Erik Nørding has built his own business, which today produces approximately 50,000 pipes a year, 90% of which are for the export market.
Many pipe makers have been creating churchwardens and some have recently added them to their lines. Nording's churchwardens can not be likened to any other.
Signed by the Master himself these pipes are available mainly in a Natural unfinished style. Great smoking pipes made typically with large pieces of briar.
The color on these pipes seems to be a cross between the red and brown colors you will find in many of Eriks pipes. Coated and polished to a high gloss finish with carving makes these an eycatching.
Erik the Red is probably the best name, and way, to describe these pipes. Nice Nording rustication and the brilliant red he uses to finish these off is certainly worthy of a Viking name as such.
An annual edition to the Nording line these pipes are very collectible and available in limited quantities. Extra care is taken in production because they are so limited.
