At first I didn't care much for this blend, but after trying a few more bowls and drying it out a bit, I found that I do like it. It burns well and stays lit. The taste and smell is like black licorice, which I normally don't care for, but find it pretty tasty in this tobacco

Not a bad blend, smokes cool. Just not really my thing. Tastes and smells a little like black licorice, which some people will like

When you open this tin the smell is something incredible! The first bowl I loaded, I just did not think it had much to it.(rather bland) Boy was I wrong. It does come on the wet side, so over the next two days I dried it out some. My next bowl full was something incredibly special! For me this is on the side of a perfect blend. It is sweet (wich I like very much do to a heavy sweet tooth) But, it is also balanced with just the right amount bright acid and a touch of rose petal and currant. I went through my first tin in ten days. 3.5 oz of this for 9$ is outstanding, and from now on I will always have one on hand.

A really nice all day smoke. Plus getting 3.5 oz. for the price is a great bonus.

This isn't my usual type of blend but I tried it on impulse and it is indeed a great blend. Very deep and bold flavor with an incredible room note.

Out of all the aromatics that I've tried thus far, 3 to date, this is my favorite. I can actually detect some flavor! The smell out of the tin is heavenly, almost like figs/fig newtons. Needs some substantial drying time, as it's very moist when it ships. The smoke smells similar to a premium hazelnut coffee, same with the "taste" of the smoke through the nose. The smoke tastes somewhat sweet without a lot of body to it. Very good for what it is. Nothing but compliments from my lover and roommates.

For those who like cased tobaccos, this is a good option, and, like all MacBaren products, worth sampling. While I enjoy this in my rotation, I am more partial to Cavendish blends such as Lane's Q-1 / Fader's "Unique" and Peretti's "Ebony", among others.

Not bad, but a bit bland at first. Very cool smoker too. No bite. Nice for a light afternoon puff
Best black cavendish I've had yet!

Scintillating, rich flavor. Vanilla, coconut, amaretto, pistachio, a bit of chocolate... amazing layers of flavor for such a simple-looking and inexpensive blend. Probably my favourite so far of the 7 Seas line. Tin and room notes are peerless. Smoke with confidence if you like aromatics. If you're like me, you'll be buying in bulk next!
