MacBaren Old Dark Fired Pipe Tobacco (3.5oz tin)
A bold flake of dark-fired burley's in a well balanced unity with Flue-cured Virginias. This flake is Hot Pressed, meaning that during the pressing, heat is added by steam to the tobaccos which causes the tobacco to intensify the marrying process giving us a bolder tobacco. The robust, earthly flavor of the dark-fired burley's shines through in the taste, and you will experience a deeply satisfying smoke indeed.

Tons of smoke, great bold tobacco flavor. No bite, even when smoked at a fast pace. Medium vitamin N. I think it smokes best using the fold and stuff/air pocket method. Better git sum before i by it all!!

Just a wonderful, smooth blend that creates a big comfort zone whenever smoked. My standard to measure other blends by.

Opened this tin to three very nice rows of thin sliced flakes. aroma was very full, earthy and delicious.
Flakes broke up nicely and packed easily. The smoke was smooth, cool and satisifying.
Reminded me of ------ another Burly and Virginia flake.Highly recommended.

It burns well. It is best when lightly packed. The Virginia Burley mix is a smooth smoke with good flavor without any burley bitterness. Moderate to strong body. I really like it as a change of pace.

I only tried a sample, so my review is to be read with that in mind. It was tasty, had no bite, but I suspect a strong nicotine content because it made me a bit "light-headed" for a few minutes. Don't smoke this on an empty stomach.

Every pipe smoker understands Don Quixote perfectly. Always searching for that perfect tobacco. Well, this smoke was a revaluation. Inside the tin are three rows of hot pressed burley & Virginia. Half a flake broken up in the palm fills the bowl nicely. The taste is full bodied, slightly sweet but not sickeningly so. This smoke has no bite, smooth and rich with a hint of citrus on the tongue. Not too moist, just right. What a delight! Made for a quiet evening, a comfortable chair and maybe a finger or two of Glenn Ord. Not that we smokers ever stop searching for the perfect tobacco but this one is a worth coming back to. The journey is the reward and glad I am I opened this tin. By all means give this one a try, and yes, it's in my rotation to stay.
