Sutliff Private Stock French Quarter

French Quarter is another of Sutliff's wonderful recreations of missing blends, this time recalling House of Windsor's Bourbon Street. Burley, Virginia and black Cavendish form the base, and a singular top flavor is added for an old-fashioned flavor and room-pleasing aroma.

Really Need to Understand the Aroma of the French Quarter to understand the Blend
I don't think most people are going to get this blend, especially if you haven't ever been to the French Quarter, where one smells lots of aromas that often blend with one another. When I first smoked this blend, at first, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. So, I cellared it for a couple of weeks. After revisiting it, the blend definitely toned down a bit. One can definitely taste liqueur of some kind. I also taste a bit of anise, cinnamon, and spice. The blend can get bitey if it is smoked too hot or fast. For this one, folks will have to slow down.
Customer Testimonials
I'm with the first guy on this one. Sorry I bought it.
A nice slow smoker with a beautiful honey note. Can get a little hard if you over smoke it. Liked it so much, I replaced the 1.75oz tin with an 8oz tin.
I really did not enjoy this very much. I dont normally smoke aromatics so maybe I am not used to their character. I just found this to be difficult to keep lit and had a lot of bite to it. Probably has to do with me being a newb. Others probably enjoy it.
