Makes the house smell of vanilla

Nice aroma in the can, but a little bland during the smoke. CAO Cherry much richer. Would not choose it again.

CAO Bella Vanilla is a very enjoyable slow burning smoke, very light aromatic, no tongue bite, with a nice room note. This is a really good first time tobacco for a new pipe smoker.

Absolutely love this vanilla blend. Started with the CAO cigars, and found these. Amazing flavor and smokes incredibly well. Leaves the room notes with a sweetness that most enjoy.

Was given CAO several years ago as a gift. Loved it at once. Usually get the sampler. Very mellow flavor & I like the cut. Also the tin keeps it fresh & fits in my back jean pocket. It's a keeper!!

I absolutely love this tobacco. The aroma is just amazing both pre and post light. Smooth through the whole pipe right top the end. Definitely going to reorder.

Great flavor and aroma

Good mellow smoke, one of my favorites however, in my smoking group it gets overpowered by the stronger tobaccos.

A delicious, moist blend of vanilla flavor and packed with rich smokey aromas that packs a bite. Highly recommended for those just getting into pipe smoking.

The true Smokeshop experience

Over the years I've experimented with a wide variety of tobaccos, not so much in search of what I like, because I haven't met one yet I didn't like at least a little, but more to broaden my experience and train my palette. The CAO aros are good, reliable, all-day smokes that taste good, smell good, and are usually appreciated by those who don't normally appreciate the aroma of tobacco smoke. I like my tobaccos drier that most do, but in my experience, these smoke better and bite less after at least a good half hour to hour's drying time, otherwise they can bite a little if you're not careful. The flavors are definitely noticeable, but you can still taste the tobacco. The vitamin N is at the mild level. If you want more of a kick, these tobaccos mix well with non-aro burley blends or VAs. These (Bella Vanilla, Cherry Bomb, etc.) are good, middle of the road, reliable, all-day aros that aren't way over the top and don't produce too much goop.

Okay but lacks "Vanilla" and is a tongue biter

I purchased this in a sampler. Im not super into vanilla but it was a good smoke, both in taste and aroma.

Mild vanilla flavor

Bought the CAO Sampler. While pleased with all of the product received this is my favorite "end of the day" smoke. Mild aromatic and pleasant to smoke.

Aroma within tin is very good, same with draw, taste and room note. Retro-nasal scent is quite pleasant. It burns cool and no need to re-lit. Product does not generate gurgles and no tongue bite. I invited friends to try it and they provided same product experience. This is mild tobacco and would buy it again. On a side note related to this review, I am always finding that every bowl is all about three parameters that comprise the experience and those are: 1 - This one is the individual mood or setting. Is the bowl for a morning start and before you begin your day? Or is the bowl smoked after a crazy work day or long commute to home? 2 - This next one is the pipe tobacco itself. Does it deliver intended flavors? It is about the presence of tobacco attributes as described by the product itself and not other personal expectations. How about age? Condition? 3 - This last one is the pipe. Yes, I am finding out that same tobacco might behave different on various pipes. Aforementioned parameters will determine the experience, which might be different than your expectations, likes, dislikes or biased mindset against product. An advise to all pipe critiques out there. When writing online reviews, please criticize product in-scope. In other words, do not give product "low stars" rating, yet fail to provide substance on your review. A low star rating with a "I do not like tobacco," or "I prefer other kind or taste," or "I like name brand tobacco better than this" misleads everyone. These types of statements are not constructive and does not help tobacco community. Not to mention you are impacting product statistics and potential buyers, and these are the people that might enjoy the tobacco. If you indeed did not like the tobacco... It is OK to be specific on the reasons while providing meaningful information. If that is not possible, then list Pros and Cons and that should help all of us when reading reviews.

Nothing really wrong with it I guess but don't find myself reaching for it over any others ..

This isn’t a bad aromatic but it’s not Great either. It doesn’t leave me with much of an impression but if you like a mild Virginia blend with subtle vanilla flavors it might be for you.

Very surprised that i found this product to be harsh and lacking much flavor & room note. Leaves you smelling like cigarettes. Surprised, as I am a big fan of CAO Moontrance & Eileen’s Dream. When I want to get my vanilla on, my weapon of choice is Sutliff Vanilla Custard. Read the second page of reviews on this product.

Great tin of pipe tobacco. I expected nothing less from CAO

Don't know what to say. I ordered pipe tobacco. They shipped it asap and I was able to track it, right to my front door. They did exactly what they said would do. My favorite place to get my tobacco. Highly recommended.

Not too sweet like other vanilla blends, so it burns cooler.

Fairly new to pipe smoking, I’ve tried many blends and styles to find a favorite, “go-to” experience. CAO Bella Vanilla tastes premium, delicious, smooth and burns perfectly.. it is hard to imagine, for me, a better choice...

Not as mild and aromatic as I thought it would be.

The pipe is grate. The only down side is the pipe is stripped it would be nice to have some curb and be much more comfortable.

Received this in the "Art of Flavor" pack. The tin scent was vanilla, but while smoked, the vanilla is hardly present. Instead, it was an acrid, unpleasant scent. The taste was burnt even when properly packed. I've only smoked two bowls of this. The first was forgettable and I felt sick by the second.

I like the flavor of it but it seems to burn pretty hot and it's harsh on the mouth.

Wanted to try it out bit after the first bowl or so I lost interest. Since I have just thrown handfuls into the house humidor jar to sweeten our up a bit.

Strong, overpowering smoke taste, no vanilla. Room note is fair. I was a bit disappointed by the great reviews. Maybe my taste buds are burnt out from 40 yrs of pipe smoking.

On the up side this blend has no bite to mention. On the down side however, very little flavor. I would say it is comparable to Captain Black white.

Mediocre at Best

Disappointing. Lacks the vanilla punch I was expecting.

A quality aromatic. I'm not an aromatic smoker, however, I bought this for my wife, who is. It has a beautiful tin note, and upon first light, you get a hint of vanilla and chocolate. This gives way to the true tobacco flavor, which, in my eyes is the sign of a true aromatic. I smokes cleanly with few relights, and also smokes dry, which is to my wife and my liking. The top note is delicate and always present but unobtrusive. All in all a delightful smoke with nuances of chocolate and vanilla, and true tobacco flavor.

I recently took up smoking a pipe ...on occasion ..and I was thrilled with the selection and scope of Pipes and Cigars. The reviews were helpful in making some selections. The Cao Bella Vanilla is absolutely delicious. This tobacco is fresh, subtle, smooth and extremely delightful. I bought two of these, one for my mail carrier and can't wait to get his opinion. I'll be ordering more soon, without a doubt. In short: this tobacco is incredible!!!!!!

Like the subject says, it's alright. I'd give it 3.5 stars, really. My favorite with a hint of vanilla is still McClelland 2000 fragrant matured cake.

Bella Vanilla is very smooth and has the perfect amount of a vanilla note. Anybody around you who gets a diff of the aroma will love the smell. It leaves no tongue bite and it leaves a great taste in your mouth when your done. I have already bought 2 tins and I will be buying more real soon!

I recently purchased some pipes and tobacco to leisurely smoke and was highly impressed with all the products. The customer service was helpful and not to mention very friendly and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend them because their products and service are exceptionally great. I will most likely continue to use them as my primary source for my pipe smoking needs. Needless to say I'm very satisfied.
