I have to rescind my last review considering I mixed this with a less stout blend. After trying solo.. In all honesty? I think this is now my personal fav. Great burn, no bite, strong yet doesn’t lose its taste after a few uses. I actually saved the tin. Might be all I order for personal use. Enjoy, all you searching for strong + flavor!

H&H Acadian Perique tastes like a light tangy green apple or peach flavor. It's great. The Acadian somehow is a fresher and sweeter perique than the Granulated Blending Perique that pipesandcigars has which has a more bold, mushroom and chocolaty taste. Either tobacco has a dreamy effect but the Acadian is sweeter and something I would have more often than the granulated blend, although I have that all the time.

More complicated than the Firestorm; nice flavor.

A very pleasant smoke, one that I'll try to experiment by blending myself.

Everything as promised

I smoked this and the HH Latakia Flake and they both have similar personalities. The watch word here is "Restrained". There's a certain delicacy or I could say agility to these blends, at the same time, they're not whimpy. The perique is top flight and used sparingly all while being integral to the blend. At first glance your thinking this is going to be a mish-mash. I can assure you it is not. YMMV. Balkan Supreme Bulk kind of hits the same chords, but, different.

Great blend. This is my favorite; pack an extra large bowl, sit on the back porch, and hope no one asks me any questions blend. Definitely, will reorder again, and again. Thank you, HH!

First time try. I really like it. New to pipes so I'm not an expert. Burns well, tastes great, and no bite. Will try other VaPers.

This stuff just goes to show that Perique can and will taste different depending on how, and with what, it's blended. This is not the "peppery" perique that I first became familiar with in VaPers. Instead, it's a more floral kind of spice. I love how it smells when I'm smoking it and I love how it smells ON me afterward. And I love that I can continue to smell it for a long time afterward.

Very pleased. Notice some good spiciness half way through bowl and definitely good Virginia flavor.

Acadian perique is the first MacBarren's blend I've re-ordered. It's a delicious blend that burns dry to the bottom of the bowl. The room note is not overwhelming and doesn't small ashy. This is a great blend.

I have to admit that I bought this tobacco just to try it out, I'm kind of predisposed with English blends and often affraid of tong bite, this was quite a pleasant surprise. After a couple of bowls, I started to appreciate its unique taste and smell. It seemed a little moist out of the tin, but it lit well and burned evenly without tongue bite and almost no relight. I'm not an expert but I believe this is a very good balance of the blends it has (Burley, Cavendish, Kentucky, and Orientals) being Perique its distinctive scent. It is strong and smooth simultaneously. Its a clean, bold, unabashed tobacco. I find that the more I smoke it, the more I like it. I would higly recommended to any tobacco aficionado that hasn't try it yet.
I recommend Arcadian Perique to the more seasoned piper that enjoys the strong tobacco flavor.

One of the finer smoking experiences I've had in a long time. Highly recommend this tobacco to all serious pipe smokers.

Decent blend but not as good as many other blends of this gene.

Mellow, no bite, an easy sipper. Burns to a nice gray ash.

Excellent smoke; smooth, full and extremely enjoyable.

Great blend! Not as full of perique as I thought it would be, but none the less an outstanding blend sure to tease the palette. Will be ordering more as this will stay in my 12 blend rotation.

While I cannot say that this my 'new favorite', I did not find anything to complain about in the blend. I like cigars made with fire cured Kentucky tobaccos, and got a hint of that. It did not bite, stayed lit, and seemed to get more interesting as it burned. I was not at all disappointed. I also plan on using this blend to add character to some of the less appealing tobaccos in my cellar.

Not as much perique as the name implies, but this is a harmonious blend of pure tobacco, and a all day smoke as well. Wonderfully tasty

I thought I would try something new from my usual English. As I have had English before with a touch of Perique, I would give this a try. This was kind of strong for me. But, I will leave it in my rotation.

This has become one of my favorite first smokes of the day. Has just the right amount of sweetness and spice with a little creaminess underneath. If that makes any sense. When I want a little more than Orlik golden slice or Dunhill flake I reach for this one.

When I opened the tin I stuck it under my nose and took a long, deep whiff to see what it smelled like. It reminded me of those bags of dried prunes my mom used to eat when I was a kid. It was very moist, too. Fortunately the flavor in smoking this is not prune-heavy.It is very rich and mellow with the perique zest but no harshness on the tongue. I found that if I smoke a strong latakia before I smoke HH Adadian Perique, I can't taste this particular blend. I have to wait a while before I can light this one up. Perique first, latkia and balkan later.

I really enjoy Perique, in my opinion it's one of the most complex and flavorful tobaccos. This blend showcases Acadian Perique which is made from many different tobacco crops, not the pure St. James Louisiana variety. The Perique is outstanding, and works well with the burley and cavendish, all balanced nicely. The blend says it has Oriental, I didn't pick it out blindly, so it is subtly done, and no Latakia. This is not an exotic English or Balkan blend but rather a more fermented cigar like tobacco with pure and stron flavors. It is very rich and really grabs your attention!

It's Ok, I have tried many VaPers that were much more satisfying. Won't buy this again.

Mac Baren Acadian Perique a great tasting non-aromatic smoke. Everyone tells me they love the aroma.

An excellent blend and my current favorite. Balanced with gentle sweet taste and smokes cool for Virginia blend. Almost burns to bottom of bowl before reloading pipe. After first tin I happily bought one pound!
