Wilderness was created by Fred Hanna to bring back memories of flavors long past. He started with Syrian Latakia and added the deeper flavor of Cyprian. The flavor and aroma are elevated by the inclusion of Macedonian Oriental tobaccos of legend - Drama and Yenidje. He the utilized some of McClelland's superb red Virginias to complete a package that will take you back.

The Best McClelland

My favorite McClelland blend. I may not know much about the history of this blend, but I know it's incredible, probably something to do with the Syrian Latakia. I've got one last tin, I'm stashing it for a special occasion.

This is one of my favorite blends. It reminds me of frogs ATP, but with beter tobaccos. It,s light but tasty. I will be buying this again.

This is a very good blend. To me however the red Virginia and orientals dominate with only a mention of Latakia. Very balanced flavors which is a nice change from the other latbombs out there. Not what I was expecting but very good.

Openning can smelled like tomatoe juice. taste was very very mild almost non existant. My wife said aroma was just ok. Not my favorite Mcclelland tobacco

Heard about Legends & Wilderness while reading Hanna'S book. Both Legends & wilderness are wonderful blends, but Wilderness has hit a magical sweet spot for me. Out of the Can the aroma was nice, moisture perfect & easy to pack. Once lit the overall smoking experience from aroma, taste, burning, coolness, dryness, and let me say flavor again, were perfect. I am returning to pipe smoking after a few years off. In all, I've smoke pipes for over 50 years. Wilderness is the best I've ever smoked.

McClelland Wilderness Pipe Tobacco

Wilderness pipe tobacco is a wonderful blend of Syrian and Cyprian Latakia red Virginia's Drama and Yenidje. This mixture is pleasant on the palate no tounge bite. Smoked cool and evenly. The flavors grew in complexity around mid bowl. Nice powered ash to the end of the bowl. I was able to keep this tobacco lit with no coaxing. Moisture level was perfect . Wonderful aroma with no lingering heaviness associated with some Latakia blends. McClelland shines with this offering. I will certainly buy more.
