Really good flavor. Wasn't terribly impressed with the first bowl. 2nd bowl I let it dry out a little longer and tried the fold and stuff method. It burned much better and had much better flavor. Immediately ordered a big pouch to age in the basement in a glass jar

Great blend good tobacco flavor and decent room note

Smells fresh and I love this Virginia. Only draw back, it has some kind of spices to it may be because of perique.
Risk - its hot :)

A pretty good smoke at a good price. May be better with some age on it as it had a slight rough edge when smoked fresh.

Good smooth smoke.

This is a smooth smoke, I get really nice hay notes when I take it slow. GOOD BLEND!

This smoke has a soft honey-biscuit opening, fresh-cut hay. Deepens to spicy clove or allspice like shades toward the last 1/3 of the bowl or as the heat rises.
Puff gently.

Whether you rub it out, age it or just stuff it in your pipe you will not be disappointment with this Nave Flake. Price is right on.

Nice economical alternative to MacBaren Navy Flake. Not quite as good, but close.

Peter Stokkebye Navy Flake has never let me down. Great taste with a pleasing aroma. Always fresh. Always nicely packaged.

Luxury Navy Flake by Stokkebye is my choice of smoke. I tried the other brands of Navy Flake and the do not compare to Stokkebye.

My go to VaPer. Rubs out perfectly, it tastes really good, and the room note is very pleasing to me. It will bite if you’re not careful!

Great flue-cured Virginia with just the right touch of perique for a little kick and a great flavor. I purchase other blends often for the last few years for comparison but always come back to this one. This is a milder smoke than the English blends I enjoy, the perique being milder than latakia. An all day smoke.

Delicious, rich and aromatic full body tobacco, and excellent service from pipes & cigars dot com; currently deployed to the Middle East, and they delivered my order very quickly. Five star experience all the way.
5 out of 5
Break it up (and it breaks up into long(ish) little pieces), and stuff the pipe and it will smoke slow, smooth, not hot and not need to be lit more than once.
It has a sort of spiciness at first, like nutmeg or something like that, then after a few minutes it gets more mellow and has a very slight sweet aftertaste and is really quite nice.
The smoke shouldn't bother anyone and smells inoffensive and actually doesn't last too long, so it shouldn't bother non-smokers too much.
I can fill my churchwarden with this about three-quarters of the bowl and it will last me at least 30 minutes as I sit on the stoop in the very early morning before the sun comes out and it's still a little cool and there's no breeze yet. A mug of coffee next to me on the step and that 30+ minutes is pure heaven. I listen to the mocking birds as they're waking *after* I've already been up and walked myself and my dog our half mile, heh heh.
This stuff *does* have a nicotene(sp?) kick to it if you puff it heavily real fast, so be careful...head buzz city!

Laxury Navy Flake is the best flake I have found. If you like Virginia's you will love Peter Stokkebye navy flake.

Great Everyday Smoke! Not too harsh, smooth and light.
5 out of 5
Really nice smoke! No fancy flavors, just smooth smoking, wonderful room note, a little sweet, a little spice, maybe. I will have to stock up on this. So glad I tried it.
5 out of 5
This is my perfect flake. Perfect moisture, perfect light, perfect taste. I love that the light navy rum topping doesn't compromise the richness of the Virginia or Perique but compliments it and gives it a nuance that is not easily indescribable. I highly reccomend this to all the Navy Flake, and VaPer aficionados out there.
5 out of 5
excellent warm, sweet, rich Virginia complimented by some nice perique, bringing it up in profile just a bit, not too strong at all. Best use of perique I've ever tasted. truly unique. Virginia is some of the best and most versatile tobacco there is.

excellent warm, sweet, rich Virginia taste, complimented by some nice perique, best use of perique I've ever tasted. smoking some right now

I love this stuff. Smokes down to nothing. Just the right interplay between the Va and Perique. Can get hot but is completely manageable-sip slow and be rewarded!

Never disappointed with the great variety of pipe tobacco that you offer.

Great tobacco for a "vapor" the Virginia is great with some age on it also the price is right

An excellent blend. The price is excellent also!

Stokkebye tobaccos never fail to please. Always fresh and flavorful.

Quality tobacco, don't over dry it though it will burn hot on you if you do. The flakes are extremely fragile and will shred upon picking it out of the bag. People who enjoy cigs every now and then can roll this as well.

P S Navy flake, my pipe tobacco for 30-40 years. I suppose I like it.
5 out of 5
Wow, this is the tobacco I've been searching for. It pushes all of the buttons for me. It has a great rum flavor and real tobacco taste. This is my go-to tobacco.
4 out of 5
Fairly dry but good smooth flavor

As someone coming from the aromatic side, I find that Luxury Navy flake is a bit too much for me atm. But if I mix one a little of this in with RLP-6 I find it creatss a delightful chai tea flavor that I can't get enough of.
4 out of 5
One of my go to smokes.Smokes nice, tastes good and rather inexpensive .All around good deal.
4 out of 5
It's as good as I remember. I fold and stuff instead of rubbing out.
5 out of 5
My absolute favorite, I first tried this tobacco from a B&M that had called it 'Sailors Flake' I fell in love after the true light, but was met with a problem because this B&M was three states away from where I live. Thankfully PS has a unique size to their cut and I quickly narrowed it down. I can't imagine running out
5 out of 5
Good stuff when I want a break from the usual Latakias. Sweet, smooth, does best with 10 min drying outside your pouch before filling and lighting. Have rubbed and fold and stuffed, both work well and provide a pleasant, sweet smoke.

Classy tobac, one of my favorites

One of the best VA-Per tobacco I’ve ever had. This is my 3rd purchase this year alone.Burn, taste, and easy to pack. A must to try. Save some fre charges and buy twice as much as you think you’ll need.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sweet haystacked goodness. Burns as good as it tastes especially through a narrow chimney. Not a complicated smoke and it isn’t trying to be. A perfect lazy day pipe filler.

I haven't decided yet between MacBaren's Scottish blend or Navy flakes. They are both very good.

I've enjoyed it for years .It is my go to daily smoke
5 out of 5
As I branch out from things I think I would like to things I've never had, a friend of mine gave me about a half oz of this blend the other day. It's my first flake type tobacco as well as my first va/per (having va/ber and stright va in the past). I used my va pipe, and The first thing off the bat I noticed is the peppery note hit me a little hard as I've never had it before, but it wasnt unpleasant. The delicate grassy/ hey like flavor is what I noticed next, with a mellow and mild sweetness that followed. Towards the end of the bowl it gets a little peppery again, with a deeper sweetness. If you go a little fast and get it a little hot, some pleasant barnyard flavor comes thru I do not detect much in the rum or other flavors it may have, but none the less it's a very good smoke. As I'm learning, I tried both the fold and stuff method as well as rubbed it out, and I find that I enjoy this flake rubbed out more than just folded and stuffed. I enjoy this alot and as I'm on my last couple of flakes, I am gonna order some more and age it. I believe this one might age very well. It did bite me a little, but I think that might be a symptom of me not going slow enough and getting overly excited about the flavor rather than the tobacco itself. At its price point its definitely worth 5 stars.
5 out of 5
It's great right out the bag, but it really shines with age. Buy some, put it in a jar, and enjoy it a year later.

Delicious Lux. Navy Flake
I purchased this tobacco to try to expand my palate. I’ve come back to the joy of the briars from a long hiatus. I started with Aromatics then entered the realms of English and Balkans. Next, I needed to find an all-purpose Blend. Sort of that all -purpose suit, blazer or sport coat. My oh my!!! I’ve found it!!!! A delicious va-per at a wonderful price!!!! Will cellar pounds of it. Thank you P.S. You’ve made my search complete.
5 out of 5
This has become my go-to smoke. Smooth, with just enough Perique spice and a trace of sweet from the rum. Rubs out and packs easily, lights and stays lit. No bite. Nice full flavor. Very satisfying.
5 out of 5
Great tobacco at a great price! My favorite pipe tobacco!!
5 out of 5
Real tobacco, aged and cured to perfection. I’m a lightweight to be sure, don’t care for aromatics or latakia blends. Virginia flavor and balanced strength. If I couldn’t find a Navy Flake at least this superior I might just leave smoking anything to abide in the memory of it.
4 out of 5
Excellent smoke, starts mellow, ends with a bit of pepper. I like to roll it into a little bundle and twist it apart in pinches. Not Escudo, but a tasty and affordable alternative. Would recommend.
4 out of 5
It's not Escudo, and it may be lightly cased, but -- it is affordable, burns well, and has a nice flavor. Very pleasant smoke, not much bite. Mellow in the beginning and finishes with a bit of pepper. Would recommend.

Best tobacco since Troost (which is no longer available). Love it.

At first I thought it was a bit harsh, but with about six months of aging in a sealed jar, it improved greatly and is now my favorite VaPer.

Peter Stokkebye is synonymous with quality bulk blends. Two of the most recognizable being Luxury Bulls Eye Flake and this one, Luxury Navy Flake. Pretty much any PS blend that starts with “Luxury” is going to be good, lol. This one is a straight up Virginia/Perique blend (a VA/Per) and man, is it a good one. It's a little more full flavored than the Bulls Eye coins because Navy Flake lacks the Cavendish. This is a good VA/Per for beginners if not Bulls Eye Flake. It's sort of a watermark for VA/Per flakes, actually. If you like it and want something stronger I'd recommend Escudo. But with this being readily available and sold in bulk at bargain prices, you'd be hard pressed to find a better VA/Per for an all-day favorite. The flakes are thin and fold-and-stuff well. But they can also be thoroughly rubbed into a great ribbon too. Either way it is a pleasant smoke every time. In fact, the consistency of these flakes is remarkable. Considering the quantities Peter Stokkebye must be producing to meet the demands, it truly consistent in availability, price, flavor, and moisture...all of which are perfect every time. If there was a downside to Luxury Navy Flake it may be that most smokers might expect a “Navy” flake to include a rum flavoring, which I've never tasted in this. I'm sure this tobacco has a special recipe of flavors, but it taste so natural to me I don't care what it is. I've heard it compared to Erik Stokkebye's 4th Generation 1931 which I personally have not tried (yet). It is also similar to Comoy's Cask No. 4. But, for the aforementioned reasons, most reviewers compare others to this by saying why not just get Luxury Navy Flake? It's a standard in our hobby and a personal favorite of mine. Enjoy.

I've only been smoking for around 6 months now and thought I would only like aromatic tobaccos. But I found out that the flavors I was trying to get out of aro-tobaccos were just to chemically harsh. The flavors of the tobaccos didn't match up with the tin note. But I'm sold now on VaPer and on this suff in particular. The tin note smell like loose-leaf black tea, cut grass, hay with a touch of dark fruit. The rim note to me has a coconut/vanilla smell to it and the room note is a smoky dark fruit smell. Don't over pack your pipe and sip it and you have no tongue bite.

This flake is very nice. Smokes easy and is very tasty. It is a great early morning smoke. Yum!

Tasty stuff. Bargain price. Been smoking for years now.

Very smooth with little or no bite. Great and lasting after taste
3 out of 5
I bought a couple of ounces of this to try as I continue to explore va/per flakes. It's gotten better with a month or so of age in the jar, but I don't know if this is for me. To me the flavor is very one dimensional. You can taste the rum and the grassy notes but it ends there. Maybe I'm missing something, and maybe I'll like it more with time, but for now this isn't my thing. I'll stick with Luxury Bullseye for my flake fix, but I'll continue to revisit this from time to time with different pipes and different techniques.
Try it, obviously lots of people like this, but if you're looking for a complex smoke like I usually am (I never smoke more than two bowls a day, a pipe is a treat for me) at the end of the day, this probably isn't it.
3 out of 5
Not quite what I expected. Found it slightly biting. Not the worst by far.
5 out of 5
Purchased and smoked upon arrival and got a musty, hay taste (nothing to write home about).
Jarred and set aside for 3 months, then, tried again (definitely a good smoke after aging awhile).
No More Hay, but, a sweet grassy taste, that I rate between Bullseye and Virginia Slice...
Not overly sweet nor too grassy taste, just about right, and easily an all day smoke.
I'll be keeping this in rotation.
If only 3 months made such a difference, I can't wait to see what a year does for it..
5 out of 5
Nice slow burn. Greajt taste and aroma. One of my absolute favourites. Makes the day very pleasant.
5 out of 5
Best of breed of the Luxury Line. Angels breath of perique. Load up the boat.
5 out of 5
Let me start by saying that I've been a fan of Va-Pers for many years. Escudo has been my go-to for 10+ years, but when you smoke every day, that's a costly option. Stokkebye's Luxury Navy Flake is absolutely the BEST bulk Va-Per flake on the market, hands down. The flavor takes a moment to get going, but once you get to your first tamp, it hits you, and you'll want to buy pounds and pounds. Very good Virginias and Perique, and I've seen some reviews state that the "flavorings" are too much for them. I can't stand aromatics. Hate 'em. This is not even close to an aro blend, folks. My palate detects 0 flavorings whatsoever. Just a solid, mild-to-medium bodied flavor, with a nice aroma (especially the "rim note", meaning the wafting smoke that's leaving the top of the bowl as you smoke it), and it burns down to a nice, mottled grey ash.
If you enjoy good Virginias and Perique - there is simply no better option at this price point...and I cellar pounds of this stuff just in case any legalities/leaf shortages arise. All day, every day smoke. Delicious!
4 out of 5
I have gravitated or prob graduated to This flake which I understand is a va-per. I love how slow it burns but it can bite you if you forget what your smoking. Al day keeper
4 out of 5
One of my regular rotation. The closest I come to smoking sn aromatic. By no means an unnoticeable flavor, best suited to the fold and stuff method with slow sipping. Rubbing this out will produce an overbearing flavor to my taste. Comparable to Orlik Golden Flake with different flavorings.
5 out of 5
I’ve been smoking Peter Stokkebye’s Luxury Bullseye Flake pretty much side-by-side with this Stokkebye’s Luxury Navy Flake. The Navy flake is very similar to the Bullseye flake, as they are both
Va/Pers. The main differences are that the Bullseye flakes have black cavendish, and they are cut into coins. The Navy flakes, as with the Bullseye flakes, have excellent burn characteristics, a great deal of flavor and balance between the Virginias and the Perique, and provide long smokes in the right pipe. The Navy flakes smoked well for me in a variety of pipes, but were best in my Rattray’s “Judge” poker and my “tulip” meerschaum carved by H. Ege. These pipes both have deep and relatively narrow chambers, which work very well with flake tobaccos. I use the “fold & stuff” method to load my pipe with this blend, but it smokes and tastes great prepared in other ways, too. Try stuffing, rubbing out the flakes, or even chopping them up, and see which way works best for you. This is a very good blend at a very good price. I guess all that is left for me to do is try Stokkebye’s Luxury Twist next! Highly recommended!
3 out of 5
A decent quality tobacco. Smokes well burning down to a fine ash. Rubs up well. But, too heavy on the flavorings for me. Also contains perique which I was unaware of when I purchased. Perique causes me to have headaches and nightmares. This may be congenital condition. I remember my father (a life long pipe smoker too) having the same reaction to tobaccos with perique. I am still looking for a replacement for my first love - Troost Special Flake in the tin.
5 out of 5
A great tobacco. A very mellow VaPer in which the Perique is not overpowering like in too many other blends. The moisture level is just right. It’s easy to rub out and there are no packing, lighting or burning problems. The smoke is cool and dry. This tobacco won’t bite. It burns down nicely right to the bottom of the bowl. It has the right amount of nicotine that I personally desire. Finally, the 24 ounce box deal from P&C is a great value for such an excellent tobacco. It has become my all-day smoke.
5 out of 5
Found this back in the early 80s. Still luv it. Grassy, some fruit notes, a little hay as they say. Smooth smoke.
5 out of 5
Somewhat a grassy taste, but, mostly hay...If you've ever baled/worked in hay, then, you know exactly what to expect here...For those of you that haven't, think dry & musty and you've got it
5 out of 5
I first bought this flake because of value. After more then a few pounds of it however, its gone on to find a permanent place in my stash as well as my heart. Smokes perfectly with a bit of air time and the old fold and stuff technique in a nice tall narrow bored pipe. Smoke it slowly to really make the dark sweetness come out, or speed it up abit to get the perique singing. Will always love this blend.
5 out of 5
My favorite after dinner smoke for many years. (I used to live in Denmark where they have (had?) fabulous pipe and tobacco stores!)
5 out of 5
A great everyday! Over time, tastier ...
4 out of 5
Even though I've smoked a pipe for 55 years I can't recall smoking a flake tobacco before. It was a pleasurable smoke so much so that I ordered 2 more in my last order. For those who like to taste the tobacco this is the one, a slight hint of rum can be detected, room note for me was good and just the right amount of nicotine.
4 out of 5
I haven't smoked this particular batch. I bought it to age for a year or more but have smoked a lot of it in the past. I've never had a reason to try a better VaPer. It has a good aroma, good balance of Virginia Vs Perique (for my taste), burns good with no bite once you learn how to load and pack it. The price is hard to beat.
5 out of 5
Bought a few ounces about 6-8months ago, but it didn't really appeal to me so I jarred it and put it away. Recently opened it up and tried it again. Wow, this stuff is really smooth. No bite and a sweet taste that lasts thru the whole bowl. IMHO, just the right amount of Perique. No I buy it by the pound.
5 out of 5
I really enjoyed this PS 400 LNF.It has become part of my daily rotation.Having tried other navy blends, I was rather surprised by the lack of bite. I enjoy in a large billiard, several times a day.
5 out of 5
This is going to be my daily smoke I believe. It has everything I love, and nothing I hate. My palate is not refined enough to tell you what I taste, but as a VAPer fan, I would advise try it. It calls to my Marine Heritage I guess lol.
4 out of 5
Always a favorite of mine for the Fall.
5 out of 5
I like a good esoteric English, and a fine Navy flake, and I don't refuse a gimme. This is a complex, enjoyable baccy, that I look forward to. It's always interesting, and easy to get lost in. I would be satisfied to find an airtight barrel of it on that deserted island, after the fact.
5 out of 5
Plenty. I use it for blending. Lots of fun. The flake is well balanced. Very good.
2 out of 5
I have had some good experiences with Navy type tobacco, but this one is nowhere near what I had in mind. Mind you, I’m a beginner so I naturally prefer more aromatic flavors. I’d say get an ounce and give it a try first.
4 out of 5
For those who are fans of Virginia flake cut pipe tobacco, you couldn't possibly go wrong with either of these two blends. There's only a slight difference in the aroma out of the pouch, with the Luxury Navy Flake being a bit sweeter. So get 'em both. If one's out of stock, order the other with no qualms.
5 out of 5
Ordered 1 oz of this to try and absolutely love it. It is great for a morning pipe. I will have to order more as I don't think this stuff will last me long.

I like this navy flake over others I've tried. Good all day smoke.

Good smoke but does even better with some age. The flavors and tone will deepen nicely.

Stokkebye Luxury Navy flake is quite mild - I could use a bit more flavor. A good smoke, though.

My very first try at a flake tobacco, I found that I just love this. Being primarily an aromatic smoker this one has become my favorite counterpoint. Mine arrived with near ideal moisture content and is very attractive to look at and show other people.
Half the fun and appeal is in preparing this tobacco, and I by far find the best flavor by tearing it into 1-centimeter lengths and rubbing it out thoroughly. It expands and swells like mad upon first light, followed by wonderful and differing sweetnesses that flow and ebb if I sip it just right. For me the amount of perique is perfect, and the amount of smoke is impressive, rich, thick. This tobacco is an interactive experience, and to say it again, just delightful.
4 out of 5
Not bad. Not my first choice but a good bulk for sure. Going to try and age it and see if it improves.
5 out of 5
while burning a little hotter than I like, This slow burning, easy to pack flake is the right one for me. It;s on the spicy side but still has the Virginia side that keeps it familiar in the European flavors.
4 out of 5
Peter Stokkebye’s Luxury Navy Flake (LNF) is a Virginia / Perique mixture in flake form. The tobacco is high quality, the topping is subtle and unobtrusive, and the balance of the VA to the Perique is gentle. It’s not a perique bomb. The incredibly low price also makes this lovely blend worth trying. Some say that LNF gets bitey, but if you take it easy you shouldn’t have a problem. Some use the fold and stuff method with it, but I rub it out and smoke it slow as I find that this works best for me. So, if you like VaPers, give this a try. It won’t blast your nose with spice, and will reward a patient smoker with an easygoing quality pipe session.
5 out of 5
What can I say about this Flake that hasn't been already said. I enjoy this quite a bit. It doesn't matter which way I prepare it it is always a good enjoyable smoke. If I had to have only 1 vaper this would be it.
5 out of 5
Light and clean, this is my all day go to smoke.
5 out of 5
A wonderful bargain for Flake lovers new and experienced. A rich, medium strength Flake that is sure to please fresh from delivery or aged. I just cannot get enough of smoking this as my everyday, go to tobacco.
4 out of 5
Tried this out of curiosity after reading the reviews. Despite what I read, it has quite a lot of "vitamin N." Personally, I have to be careful about how often and when I smoke it. Having said that, it has a nice, pleasant, not to sweet taste.I don't detect the advertised rum but my palette may not be that sophisticated. The bottom line is that I enjoy it as an occasional break between my Balkans and English. The price, and the fact that you can buy in bulk is also attractive to me.
5 out of 5
By far, this is one of the better Flake tobacco for the price that I have ever tried. No bite, consistent burn even without drying, and a rich and complex flavor combination make for a wonderful experience. I will buy this again, what a bargain!
5 out of 5
While on a kick of reading nautical stories, I decided to sample a bunch of navy flakes (I only sampled those available in bulk). Did this stand head and shoulders above the rest? No, but it was at least as good as any navy flake I tried, some much more expensive. Nice light everyday smoke, great price

Very enjoyable , priced to please. Thank you Pipes and Cigars for providing great products and customer service.
5 out of 5
Interesting flavors and easy smoking make this a fine afternoon tobacco. The flakes can be a bit tricky trying to fold and stuff, so I will just keep rubbing them out first. Wife says the room note remind her of toasted marshmellos, so I'm safe there,LoL

This is the tobacco that opened my eyes to how pleasurable pipe smoking can really be. Ever since I've been hooked on it. I would recommend to any smoker especially beginners that only have a couple buck in there pocket.

The simple things in life, a very pleasant smoke, a hot cup of Folgers coffee, and the companionship of my loving dog.No better way to spend a holiday. This tobacco definitely provides the pleasant smoke. Thanks P&C for the great service during the holiday rush. To all, I wish a great smoke and good night.

I was given this tobacco by a friend. At the time, I was not fond of flake. It sat in a plastic bag for months before I tried it. I am now sorry I waited so long. It is delightful. I have learned to roll and fold as a result. It is slightly sweet and has a nice room note. It takes a little effort to get it going, but patience is rewarded. Very pleasant and relaxing. I could smoke this all day w/o getting tired of it. Absolutely no bite whatsoever. I can"t say enough good things about this one. I will buy more and I recommend it.

This is now in my top 10 VaPer blends and cant go without it. Seems to age very nice in Ball jars just like bulls eye flake!

This is one great smoke. I prerfer the fold and stuff method and had no issues relighting.

If you like Orlik golden sliced then this is for you! This stuff has that wonderful Virginia/apricot taste with a fabulous perique/pepper exhale. I love Orlik with all my heart but Im gonna start buying this instead. Being able to buy in bulk is just to good of a deal to pass up. Side by side comparison I swear I cant tell the difference.
3 out of 5
It is a fine smoke but I don't find it to be earth shaking. A nice everyday blend. A good start to the day before moving on to bigger and better blends.

Navy flake is smooth, straight forward and has a nice earthy fragrance. I like it as a blender.

My wife loves it when I light up a bowl of PS Lux Navy Flake, She picks up an aroma of toasted mashmellos. I get to smoke a really good tobacco without having to go outside. This blend is easy to light and the flavors stay all the way to the fine ash at the bottom.

Smoked out of a dedicated handmade briar, meerschaum and cob. Overall a good introductory tobacco for those interested in trying a VaPer style blend. The perique isn't too heavy so you won't have to worry about too much nicotene, the virginias are pretty young in the sense that they have a very hay like taste too them, but don't bite much if you pace yourself. I'd say with some aging this would be a pretty excellent tobacco. You don't really taste the rum until you get to the bottom 8th of the bowl then it takes on a butterd rum sauce note which leaves you longing for more. To me its a great all day smoke since I can't afford to puff Escudo all the time (much to my chagrin). The price alone is worth the plunge.

Ok I'm a English smoker 1st off, however a buddy kept raving about this flake. I've had PS bullseye before and wasn't taken back by any means. But I received a sample of this flake and thought why not give it a shot. The flake itself is gorgeous in appearance, Browns and gold veins. Great light sweet aroma. Right out of the pouch I filled my trusty cob. I did rub it out prior. Well, the flake burned excellent. Nuances of pure tobacco and light sweet flavor on the retrohale. Burned clean and pure to a white ash. This blend is by no means the holy grail but it is a solid smoke. I smoked it all summer because it is so consistent. A good medium bodied smoke everytime. You know what you get with this one. Now let me not forget another selling point, the price. For a flake of this quality it's the greatest baccy value going today. I stocked my cellar.

This is an excellent natural type smoke. Others claim that its a virginia / perique blend, and I agree that it must be based on that. This is pretty "full" for Stokkebye: their products lean towards the mild side IMO. Be that as it may, I find it to be a superb smoke, just full enough to be interesting, but it's not in the tongue-bite danger zone. Great flavor here, it has that raisin-like sweetness of the virginia, the peppery perique, and I'm not sure if it might contain a little burley too, but this is a great mix. This would be a good introduction to virginia flakes and other straight tobacco types due to its slightly toned-down nature. Great stuff!

Still not sure about this one yet, going to give it some cellar time and see how it does.

This navy flake is adequate and what you expect as far as flavor and burns well…but I tend to dry portions out for a day or so as it lessens the bite this flake has.
