Finally back in P&C stock, and I just ordered a few more spares. After 2 years, a great and non-stop moistening performance continues. I use them in my canisters, pouches and bags with much satisfaction. Before first use, soak them in a glass of cold water for about 5 minutes. For me, no dried-out and hot burning tobacco, ever! Just check the tobacco every so often to see if the disc needs re-charging. I do a 2 minute soak in a water glass and it's ready for action. In my opinion, one of the best inventions on record.

This is the most valuable piece of kit I own next to my pipe nail. Brings back dried out tobacco and preserves moisture in others. Amazing quality for the price.

This is a great cheap product. I wish it had the humidor beads in it instead of the cloth. It does work, but this would be absolutely the best product is it used the 70% humidity beads and therefore didn't let it get too humid.

I like the thick plastic ones better. Wish you carried those as well. Not sure which holds moisture better. Just prettier inside the lid where I use a sticky dot.

Like the description states. Works like it should. Good for small tins or pouches. Just enough moisture to keep the tobacco lightly moist if the tobacco is moist to begin with.

This is the shizzle and keeps your ribbon cut shag moist and ready for action. I drop one in every tin I own.

An easy solution to keep your tobacco moist in your pouch, jar, etc

This is my updated review from last year. After soaking in a tray of water for about 5 minutes, these inserts hold their moisture for about 4 days, before re-charging. I've used mine for almost a year and have yet to notice any difference in quality. Also, some smokers complain of some tobaccos arriving with excess moisture - some being difficult to keep lit. If you take one of these "dried" moisteners and stick it in a pouch, bag or canister for about a day. Periodically check the desired dryness level before removal. It actually absorbs the excess moisture to create a drier smoke. My experiment worked like a charm!

I saw these discarded on a street many years ago as a kid and wondered what the heck they were? I saw these on this site and what a great idea! I purchased these originally for my wife and I's "zippered" tobacco pouches and they work great! For the small zippered pouch the moisture last about 2-3 days then the disc needs to be rehydrated. Let them soak for about 30 minutes, shake out any excess water and place in your pouch. These are more economical to me than the disposable moisture packets.

I've used these for years, distilled water works fine but try different ways to soak them

These are great at keeping my numerous jars of tobacco blends at the perfect moisture level. I’ll be ordering more for sure.

A really nice device that’s does seem to keep the humidity in tobacco pouch moist.

The Pouch Moistener is excellent for its intended use -- a tobacco pouch. You can easily monitor the tobacco moisture level with each smoke. It's about the size of a half dollar, and the feather-light aluminum construction makes it rustproof. It fits any size pouch and does a great job with keeping tobacco from drying out. Just let it soak in water for a few minutes before the first use, or anytime it runs dry. For its size, this moistener really "packs a punch". I strongly suggest that If your current tobacco is already fairly moist, let it dry out a bit, before using this device. Otherwise, you will have problems with keeping it lit because of too much moisture. Also, be aware that the moisture level cannot be controlled on this device. Therefore, there is one drawback for "other-than- pouch" use. If using it for tobacco storage in a glass cannister or ziplock bag, you have to check on the tobacco status every few days, to make sure it's not over-moisturizing. It also needs to be re-charged with water, to function properly with any use. I have found the Pouch Moistener to perform equally well in my glass jars, as long as monitoring is done on a regular basis. Re-charging time for this device with water will vary, and is dependent on the tobacco type and the air seal quality of the storage container or pouch used.

Works great for keeping opened cans of tobacco moist. I buy them half a dozen at a time, so I always have one available when it's needed.

Work great. But the new terra cotta ceramic versions seem to last longer and have a larger surface area.

These pouch moisteners are about as economical and easy as it gets. I've rehydrated several tins of pipe tobacco using these moisteners. Soak them in distilled water for a few minutes before tossing them in a mason jar or other airtight container with your tobacco. Check every 12 hours until your desired moisture level is achieved. I rotate the jar in my hands every once in awhile so moisture is evenly distributed throughout the tobacco. It works.

Soak one in distilled water, place it in the tobacco jar and it'll keep the tobacco from drying out and smoking hot ... they're economical and they work, both of which are features I find attractive in a product.

Much of the year, our relative humidity is in single digits. These handy clay tabs make the difference, keeping pouches 'just right.'

Great idea! Perfect for a pile ouch o tobacco tin that may have gotten a bit dry. Just the right size...

Pretty decent button humidifier. Looks to be well made and solid. My old ones separated in my tobacco jar and the clay ruined my tobacco. Hopefully these will hold up better. They look to be more solid than my old ones.

These little fellers get the job done. Soak 'em in distilled water for a few minutes and plop 'em in your tobacco pouch. Recharge with distilled water in one to two weeks (depending on moisture content of the tobacco). I also use them in my humidor to maintain proper moisture content. They are 1" diameter by 3/16" thick.

Keeps the tobacco from drying out. Need to add water to it periodically so it can do its job but works like a champ!

These things really worked well to rehydrate my pipe tobacco. My only complaint is they don't come with any instruction on how to properly use them, or how to soak them properly for use.

These work excellent for keeping you tobacco fresh, I just let them soak in water for app. 1/2 hour and put in pouch or tobacco jar. If your tobacco has become dry, then you should try these.

I’ve used these little devils for decades. They are simple, inexpensive, and work for modest amounts of tobacco, from punches to storage jars. Get ‘em. What more is there to say?

I had gotten tired of finding tobacco in my pouch dry and useless after a weekend or so and either having to toss it or find space in a jar to re-humidify it. These things work exactly as advertised and seem to keep going for at least a couple of weeks before needing to be "re charged".

I have always loved these and have not been able to find them locally Gordon time. Eventually they break down, good to have a few on hand.

These things are amazing at keeping tobacco fresh. It's a shame that P&C may not be stocking these anymore. I'd be all over them in a heartbeat.

They work great to keep your tobacco moist in a pouch or use more than one in a jar.

Picked up a bunch, mainly for mason jars where the tobacco was getting a little dry. However, I notice it more in my tobacco pouch for daily use. These work really well.
If you're considering buying them, get a load of them. They are cheap and you will wish you had once you start using them.

Definitely worth the buck or so to extend the life of your tobacco!

Soak 'em in water for a minute, throw one in your pouch or jar and they work. They never break or wear out. They don't break the bank. I keep extra on hand as I do loose one sometimes. Good to have!

Over the years I have found that pipe tobacco tends to dry out, even if it is in. A sealed jar, but particularly if it is in a pouch. When tobacco is too dry, it burns quickly and hot. The simple solution is a pouch moistdner. Just submerge the disk in water for a few minutes (tap to unlodge any bubbles), wipe off any excess water, and bury them in the tobacco. Keeps the tobacco at the perfect moisture level. Can be used over and over.

These little things are amazing. I have my pipe tobacco in mason jars and keeps it moist. I don't smoke often and these keeps my tobacco fresher. I would recomend all pipe smokers get these.

I bought 24 of these and seem to work quite well. I'm not a heavy smoker, but like to have a pipe or a cigar every once in awhile. I have asthma and I shouldn't do at all. I have some pipe tobacco in mason jars and I put Velcro on the moistener and trying that way. I just laid them in the bacco but changed.

Ordered several of these to help balance the humidity over several jars of tobacco I keep in mason jars, as well as to keep my pouch tobacco from drying out too fast. Even gave a few to my friends. Great product that doesn't need hydrated but once a week or so for a pouch, longer for a jar depending on the jar size and amount and moisture of tobacco.

Product as advertised. Be sure to use just a few drops of water to a disk, your first time. Makes your tobacco smoother. No negatives to report.

I grabbed five of these pouch moisteners & after charging them with purified water, tossed them into five different humidors. One 100 ct., two 50 ct., a thirty & a twenty. The idea is to see if they can augment the normal humidification devices. or will they be best used in tandem or even in threes or fours. They are inexpensive & after about a month of service, I have noticed they do help support a constant humidity level. Just what my Humi-Care Pillows do. The round metallic Pouch Moisteners are even easier to charge & toss into almost any part of a humidor, with no fear of spills or taking up more than a minimal amount of space. Quite handy little thingys, in fact. I think they will provide years of service, due to the composition. Metal with inner spongy material, that soaks up water & releases it gradually to help keep levels steady. We will see how they perform once true dry Winter sets in & the humis are faced with keeping a nearly full load of precious puros safe under adverse conditions. As of this writing, I am very pleased with the purchase.

A must have for pouch & humidor.
