After 10 years of making some of the best cigars on the market, Rocky Patel decided to celebrate. His idea of an anniversary party of course was blending a new cigar, and the Rocky Patel Decade was born. The blend starts with a beautiful Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, and then delves into a delicious mixture of binder and filler tobacco that Rocky keeps as his own secret to avoid copycats. He certainly did something right, this smoke scored an unheard of 95 rating from Cigar Aficionado as well as making the same magazine's prestigious Top 25 Cigars list in 2008.
Loved these cigars, I will be purchasing more and in the future

Rocky Patel Decade
May 17, 2016
Received as part of the Rocky Patel Factory tour, a brand I've become very partial to. The Decade is, for me, a cigar that was very pleasant to smoke. While I found the wrapper to be a bit on the delicate side, it did not adversely affect the smoking experience.
This cigar was very consistent all the way through, listed as a medium-full, I found it a lot "lighter" than others of it's class. I think this smoothness and consistency is due to box pressing. Another thing I have become fond of as I've noticed that most of the cigars I've had with better physical smoking(even burn, smoother draw) characteristics and constant flavor are box pressed.
Flavor wise, it is rich and smooth smoke with a hint of spice and a light nutty finish. A very approachable offering, I think it's a good choice for someone who is regularly put off by fuller cigars as well as someone who routinely enjoys richer and fuller cigars. It's a cigar that will certainly be on my mind when I place my next order.
