Works great. I have several old Dunhill F/T Tanshells. Fit just fine.

Don't have to worry about my stem or my teeth
5 out of 5
They look good and even though I’m a clenched I bought these for a different purpose: to cover holes in a Magic Inch pipe that didn’t seem to smoke well. I slid the rubber sleeve over the holes and viola, she smokes well again. I may try them as intended and I’m sure they will work well for that too.

Great product. Feel good and really save my stems from early destruction!
5 out of 5
Need a better catalog description size wise. There are three sizes--this is the small. They make smoking much less tedious and more relaxing when you don't have to clench a pipe stem over time. Don't know why I took so long to get them over the years--they're that good!
5 out of 5
I have used this product for several years now and not only is it easier on my teeth, but it also protects the stem from bites, tooth scratches and breakage. A pipe just doesn't feel right without one. The large are thinner than the small, but they are still waaay worth the money.
4 out of 5
Good product. Does the job of protecting the stem without being intrusive, and has a good secure feel in the mouth. Unfortunately, once installed it may make pipe storage in a pipe rack or case difficult or impossible. That being said the benefit far outweighs the inconvenience, so 4 stars!
5 out of 5
They work well protecting my pipe stem. Highly recommended.
5 out of 5
Put these on all my pipes, and find them quite comfortable as well as serving the purpose of stem protection. Fit must be very tight so not to interfere with draw, so use the smallest that will fit on the stem.
5 out of 5
Excellent product. Does the job. Good tight fit
5 out of 5
Out of the three purchases; this was the best.
Protects the stem and very comfortable to the bite.
4 out of 5
Very comfortable, however they do tend to move with some of my stems. I plan to stock all sizes to make sure I have the right fit.
5 out of 5
Standard issue for clenchers. Perfect fit. Comfortable, secure bite. Durable material with no noticeable taste. Simple and perfect. I work with my hands, so I’ll likely put one on every pipe but my Churchwarden.
5 out of 5
They work as intended
5 out of 5
Must have for clenchers like me.

The product is great. However, could you do something about the programming that continues to ask if I want on the email list? I've been on it for some time, already. Thanks
5 out of 5
Perfect tool for the job, don't clench without it. The fit must be tight or you can't hardly draw. The large fits large stems but is practically useless on a small stems. P&C has been out of the small for quite awhile now, wish they would replenish their inventory.

I tend to clench my pipe stem in my teeth as I work and ruin them. On one of my favorites, I worn the button nearly half through. These help to save me from having to buy replacement stems. These are inexpensive and work really well. So it saves money for the long run.

No thin not thick great for my working pipes
5 out of 5
Perfect fit. Minimal rubber taste

Love these! Once in place these little gems save the stem of the pipe from getting bit through and breaking the fish tail.
5 out of 5
Very good for small bits.
5 out of 5
Every pipe deserves one. They make for a much smoother and comfortable smoking experience while keeping my stems factory new. What is not to like??
5 out of 5
Great pipe bits I won’t smoke without one on the stem.
I fill it makes it easier to grip. And protects the stem from teeth marks.
5 out of 5
The pipe protectors are great for large pipe stems. P&C should also offer a small size.
5 out of 5
Nice no bite marks on stem.
3 out of 5
I bought five of these because I have a bad habit of chewing on all my pipe stems, leaving ugly tooth marks. However, adding these bits to the end of the stem makes the stem awkwardly and uncomfortably large. Additionally, the bits quickly stretch out and lose their seal, making it difficult for a smooth and easy draw. I will use them when absent-mindedly chewing on my pipe stem, but when I actually light up a bowl, I will pass.
5 out of 5
They certainly make pipe smoking more comfortable and prevent stem breakage.
5 out of 5
Perfect fit but make sure you do have the wide mouth pipe end.
4 out of 5
They fit my large pipe stems perfectly
5 out of 5
Need smaller size ze as well
5 out of 5
Bits are great. But they didn't have small in stock. Large is too large :P
5 out of 5
Love these for my pipes. Keeps the stem safe from bite marks an provides extra grip if you are a clencher. The rubber material is pliable enough to stretch over most stems so should be good to go. Honestly I wouldn’t want to go without them on my pipes anymore, and hey they’re super cheap what’re you waiting for.

A great product.
It helps preserve your pipe stems etc.

I have these on several pipes. It helps while riding my motorcycle. Makes it easier to clench while on the move.
4 out of 5
Seems to slide up and down a little to easily Other then that pretty comfortable. When are you getting the small size in stock ?
4 out of 5
Perfect for a clench! Maybe just a bit thick. Awesome protection from the chompers.
5 out of 5
Soft and just as ordered
4 out of 5
I ordered the large not realizing what size I needed. Seems like most pipes would work with smaller size. If I had ordered the correct size I think it would work fine.
4 out of 5
I've used rubber pipe-bits for years and years, to protect the stems since I tend to clench down hard. Problem has been putting standard bits on my larger pipes with wide stems. These solve that problem nicely. Only one drawback - hence 4 stars not 5 - is that the rubber is much thinner than with standard size bits, so I'm not sure these will last as long.
3 out of 5
Good product however they seem to be to large for me. They keep my jaw at an uncomfortable position and have sharp edges that needed to be trimmed with a razor.
5 out of 5
Amazing. These soft bits make it easier to clench, and helps prevent the bite marks on the stem. I wish I'd tried them sooner.

Good products, well made just too big. Even for my Big Ben Blackline 108. They kept my jaw in an uncomfortable position aswell.
4 out of 5
Bought these for my big ben 508 blackline. They are to large, but do fit. However they slip around and are so large my jaw is in an uncomfortable place. High quality product, should provide years of service.

I have dentures and it’s hard to keep a pipe held in my mouth, so these softy pipe bits make it a lot easier.

Sometimes the standard Softy Pipe Bits are too tight. That's when you need one of these. Keep some on hand.

What can I say I just like them on my pipe
5 out of 5
I knew some people was using Softy pipe bits and decided to try it.
To my pleasant surprise, it works great! It protects mouth piece from bite marks
and it goes easy on your teeth against hard material mouth pieces like Lucite.
One of my favorite pipes has mouse piece chipped a little and I was thinking of repairing it,
but softy pipe bit covers that spot and I can smoke that pipe again without any discomfort.
It’s a great product!

I bought some of these Softy Pipe Bits to use on pipes while I'm driving. They work great when clamping on the mouthpiece and helps keep my pipe in my mouth and protects the mouthpiece from hard clenching.
4 out of 5
Product is fine, as expected. Not as thick/strong as some pipe bits I've used, but perfectly adequate. Protects the pipe bit, and provides for a more comfortable grip (on smaller bit pipes).
5 out of 5
Good fit for most of my pipes, this is the size you want.
5 out of 5
Very comfortable, will use my hands free comfortably. I love this product! It makes pipe smoking that much more pleasurable.

Worked on my broken stem

I don't have my upper teeth anymore and with dentures having the rubber tip makes it easier to hold my pipes in my mouth. I also like a corn cob pipe, but the smaller tips are still too large for the small pipe tips they have.
5 out of 5
It helps when you have a strong bite.
5 out of 5
Fit well, protect well, and make it much easier to grip pipe stem.

Each one lasts 4 months, depending on your bite. A good way to extend the pipe you smoke while driving or working.

Most reviewers who don't like these rubber soft stem bits say it is because of the "taste". Well personally I don't detect any particular taste at all.
I do however find that these soft rubber bits offer two advantages:
1). They protect my pipe stems from teeth marks, especially on thin stemmed pipes which seem to require a bit more pressure to hold by my teeth. The soft rubber is far more comfortable as well, also providing a better grip on the pipe.
2). The bit also provides stem protection against what many term "oxidation", that light brown patina that slowly begins to coat the vulcanite stems, (but I suspect it is not truly oxidation but rather the tars in the smoke mixing with moisture from the smoker's breath which produces the brownish layer, most especially near the mouth end of the stem).
As far as the "large" size of this Softy Pipe Bits goes, it is very helpful for stems that are wider of course.
I recommend using them, primarily for the first reason, protection and comfort. I'll continue to buy more as needed, (they don't last forever, and there's always another new pipe to protect).

love them. no more teeth marks.

They do what they’re supposed to do (viz. protect the stem from getting chewed up) and they do it well.

Maybe it’s because I’m a newbie, but these mouth guards are amazing.
5 out of 5
Nice bits. The only size that fits my pipes.
4 out of 5
These bits are perfectly fine, but I was expecting smaller bits, not the same size I can buy at my local shop. No worries, they work fine on most of my pipes. They just don't fit my churchwardens.
4 out of 5
Nice and comfortable on the teeth, especially with a heavy pipe. Do NOT like the price. I will find something else to put on my stems in the future, but the product does as it says, and does it well.

I have been using Softy Pipe Bits for a long time now. There are a couple of things I like about them. First, I can really clamp down on them with my teeth and it doesn't feel like I'm going to break a tooth. Secondly, it keeps bite marks off the stems as long as you change them before there are any holes in the bits. This helps me to feel much more comfortable with my pipe. I really do like Softy Pipe Bits very much and will continue to use them with all of my pipes.

Love then them. Soft so I can grip them good in my teeth, yet durable

Lane Limited is a very smooth tobacco at a great price. Their flavors are richly defined in their smoke.
5 out of 5
I tend to clench pretty hard so these are great. Not too big, so they feel natural. Definitely recommend them.
5 out of 5
True to their name, they deliver on size: much easier to stretch over wide stems; less likely to split due to not being overstretched.
4 out of 5
They do what I need them to do.

Great rubber sleeve for acrylic bits.

Makes clenching the pipe very comfortable!

These fit on my Big Ben Royal Tan 033 pretty good. I originally got them for my Peterson Standard System 301, but they are just a little too big. I’ll have to try the small ones on that.
5 out of 5
I'm new to the pipe smoking hobby and at first wasn't sure that softy bits would make a difference; I was utterly wrong. These robust bits make clenching a pipe exceptionally easy and comfortable. Most of my collection are cheap pipes but with softy bits I feel confident that a more expensive pipes stem will last years and look brand new.
5 out of 5
Not much to say about a product such as this. They hold up well!

The soft pipe bits were just a great addition to keeping my pipe tip comfortable without being chewed up
Great company always steered in the right direction, with all their products.
Very Pleased! As usual.

A MUST FOR CLENCHERS

I don't actually have stems these fit snugly on. They seem well-made, but the small softies I ordered are the ones that fit my pipes. Those are just fine.

These are a must. Got them quickly, thanks.

these worked perfect easy and gentle on the teeth

Being a man who has put holes in pipe stems from grasping my pipe with my teeth while working with my hands, the discovery of the pipe bits has been a No brainer. I can change out a bit frequently and cheaply. No more having to buy new stems or having my wife complaining about ugly pipe stems. A good find.

I use these on all my pipes. Both small to large sizes depending on the stem size..... Most require the small
5 out of 5
Keeps me from biting the stem, keeps the stem nice and clean. Wish they had different colors.
4 out of 5
These pipe bits were a good find... They really save a lot of wear and tear on the mouthpiece of the pipe. The only only mild drawback is you will need to replace it after about 3 to 5 weeks depending on how much you use the pipe.
5 out of 5
Your company is the only place I can get them Thank you!
5 out of 5
A small hole has formed in the stem of my pipe on the mouth piece. The pipe bit covers the hole and holds tight to the stem for a comfortable hold between my teeth.
5 out of 5
Use softy bits. Go easy on your teeth and pipe stem

I received these bits yesterday and put them on pipes that needed them. I am very happy with the size and how they feet on larger mouthpieces. The suggestion I have for P & C is to measure the diameter of these pieces and put it in the description. There are many selections available on online sites and information like this will be very helpful to buyers.

I like the Softy bits particularly because I chew my bits and have some very sharp edged teeth. The Softy Pipe Bits have protected several pipes already. I plan to purchase more in future.

I really like a jaw hanger pipe so these softies keep me from tearing stems.

These things are great !!! No more chewed through pipe stems or rough edges to cut your lip on.....and for only $0.55 !!!!

I tend to clench hard while smoking my pipe, so Softy Pipe Bits give me the cushion I need to protect the bit on my pipe stem and reduce stress on my jaw. Softy Pipe Bits also come in small sizes, and that's great because I can use them on my smaller pipes and corncob's as well. Thank you Pipe's & Cigars for carrying softy Pipe bits in all their available sizes.
5 out of 5
I use both the large and small pipe bits to protect my pipe bits from teeth marks or scars. They do a good job protecting my pipe and aid in holding my pipes since I am now a clincher. The larger bits are used on the larger pipe stems and the smaller bits for the smaller pipe stems like my M/Ms. I wish, I had both sizes 50 years ago and the older pipes in my collection would not be scared.
3 out of 5
The Large bits are huge. They were too big all my pipes including my Rossi 626 which has a really big bit and it still slips around on that.
5 out of 5
Great if you have a wider stem. I also like them because you can take them off easier than the standard size.
5 out of 5
I spend a lot of time trying to remove tooth chatter from estate pipes and was looking for a way to avoid making new ones. These Softy Bits are perfect for the job and comfortable too.
5 out of 5
They were great and arrived very quickly! I love this website and their products. They have the best customer service!
5 out of 5
I love these bits, which allows me clinch my pipes a lot easer and not damage the stems. I have one on each of my pipes. I need an order of the small bits, but they are out of stock. The large bits are a little large for a lot of pipes and they move slightly on the stem, requiring miner adjustment when you are smoking. The small stems my be harder to get on most pipes, but they stay in place.

These Softy Bits are a great way to protect your stems from chatter, tooth impressions, and oxidation of vulcanite stems, plus they feel good to bite down on. I use them on all of my pipes. Suggest ordering both sizes to see how they fit on different stems

I was VERY disappointed. They lasted only 2-3 days and came apart. The thicker, "larger" size are MUCH better. I would recommend the larger.

Received quickly. Beware moisture will collect between stem and tip, requiring cleaning from time to time.

They fit amazing on my pipes and are really nice to bite done on! Fast shipping as well!! Thanks P&C! I will always be a loyal customer! ^_^

New pipe stems are hard to find, so these are great for extending the life of a pipe.
4 out of 5
I like them. However, they need to have the sharp edge the goes on the pipe first, rounded down some.
5 out of 5
It fit really well on my smaller stemmed pipes! Nice to clench in the teeth. Happy I have protection for my stems! Thanks P&C!!
5 out of 5
Every one of your good pipes should have one of these. If you clench, you want to protect your investment from damage.
5 out of 5
Protect your investment. Even if you aren't a "clencher", you will put some dings and marks in your stems.

Have bought Softies quite a few times and they are particular comfy if you like acrylic stemmed pipes, giving me a soft firm grip of the bit ... The larger Bits fit my regular briars, but I get the smaller ones for my 3 cobs that have smaller stems ... small stems don't feel good in my mouth/teeth, but these softies give make them feel right in my mouth.
5 out of 5
another thing I found on P&C that I wished I had known about years ago.
5 out of 5
None of my pipes are without one of these. Saves many a stem
5 out of 5
Works and protects very well when you hold your pipe with your teeth.
5 out of 5
I only buy pipes with acrylic stems, so I like the softy bit feel and they also allow the stem to fit securely in my teeth ... they grip more securely without feeling 'slippery' because of the hard smooth finish of acrylics and the feel is cushioned and not hard. I would use them on any type of pipe stem.
5 out of 5
great addendum for my hardest workers, adds longevity to rare stems!!

good stuff; salvaged one of my favorite chimneys
5 out of 5
They work great for an 82 year old with no teeth to keep a pipe in their mouth. If you can't keep the pipe in your mouth, it falls out onto the concrete, shatters and you have to get another and break it in. bummer !

Having tried the "high grade" standard, oversized, and regular pipe bits, I will try to note the differences. The regular bit protector is a softer material with more stretch to it and with a lower profile thickness that some may prefer, but tends to show tooth wear more quickly. The "high grade" standard is made of a thicker and slightly firmer rubber that has not shown as much wear so far. Size wise it fits a Sav unfinished pot like a glove and will wrap around a Sav Trevi 607 bit with more effort. The oversized "high grade" is of similar quality to the standard but about 1-2mm larger in it's resting/unstretched diameter. And of course, much easier on my teeth and wallet so far.
