Sutliff Private Stock Molto Dolce

Well it’s as good as everyone says, and yes it crackles as you smoke it, which is pretty darn satisfying. There is little to no natural tobacco flavor which is fine because the flavor and aroma is darn good. There are a couple drawbacks which will prevent me from ordering again anytime soon and make me want to look for a better alternative: it’s so moist that your fingers and pipe get all discolored and wet.

Far too sweet and moist to smoke. I use it to blend with other tobaccos. It’s tasty stuff…but is often so moist you must expose it to air for a few days to let it dry a bit.

Without a doubt this is my favorite pipe tobacco. I was quite surprised at the taste and left a very pleasant odor in the room so much so that my wife enjoys it when I smoke it. I tested it out one day walking the street there were other people there wondering if I was going to get rebuked or not but people turned around and they said what is that that you're smoking smells so good. Pretty much this is my go-to.

Sweet, flavorful, and enjoyable. The peopel you are smoking around will love the room note. Can be a little wet out of the tin.

I was suprised how cool smoking this was. I was expecting it to be much wetter based on reviews, but it was smokeable right out of the tin. Very Sweet, but not to sweet. An amazing room note. Will be buying more.

Great rich aromatic pipe tobacco. It’s like a sweet tooth cure , after dinner dessert type smoke , smells fantastic and will turn heads. It comes pretty wet, drying is a must for me at least 6 hrs before going into a bowl or it will .. yeah. It’s really good but I don’t know what sets it apart being a private stock Vs normal bulk sweet aromatic Sutliff already has except its richer and heavier taste. I would buy it again because it’s not overly priced and I would enjoy it especially during the winter holidays.

Like it a lot. Kinda sweet like the name says, Dolce is sweet in Italian. But that sweetness is mild and has a creamy flavor. A favorite. I have it with a nutty Porte from Spain. Savor it. I have it in my study listening to Cuban jazz.

Great a canned version of cream brulee, a little wet but dries n smokes great love it

This is great fall time smoke for me. Needs to be dried out more than most to prevent tongue bite, but worth the wait.

my favorite pipe tobacco, though too sweet by itself. I usually cut it with another cavendish to help make the perfectly light, slightly sweet pipe tobacco that I smoke year round.

This cannot be beat when it comes to smooth, luxury and sweet smoke. Even with its ribbon texture lights well and gives great smoke. Just fabulous people love when you smoke this around them and you will be please.

This is the only tobacco I smoke. I’m a professional truck driver, and this is the perfect blend and taste for smoking while on the road. I’m often completed on the way it smells when I’m smoking. Since it comes in a sealed tin, it is always nice and fresh. I highly recommend this product.

One of my personal favorites. No bite, very smooth with no aftertaste. Folks always compliment on the the wonderful smell in room.

Love it. Smokes good. Super fresh. Really has a sweet creme taste and smell to it. Fills the room with awesomeness. I prefer to mix it but it could be a stand alone.

Maybe to sweet and goopey for most. However if you give it time to dry it smokes wonderfully and has a lovely brownie like flavor. One of my favorite aromatics when I want something decadent. Can’t say much else other than if you like deserts, this is right up your alley.

I am a new pipe smoker, and wanted a tobacco that would have a very pleasant room note for times when I might be around non smokers. This is not the best tobacco to learn on I’m sure being an aromatic, but it smokes much better than you might think as it seemed fairly moist when I opened the tin. I did the usual three stage packing method, then a good char light. To my surprise, this tobacco caught on with very little puffing. I tamped lightly as I went, and soon had a very nice cherry. Taste was very pleasant, smoke was amazing. I sipped this down to nothing but ash without a further light. Granted I was sitting on my porch swing undisturbed so I could concentrate on the pipe the entire evening, but this was a very pleasant tobacco to smoke. I enjoyed it enough to order two more tins of it. The only other tobacco close to this for me was the Sutliff Creme Brulé, which is nice as well. I tend to gravitate to aromatics since I am mostly around non smokers, and this blend was a pleasant surprise. If you want s very pleasant aromatic, give this blend a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed!

My favorite Aromatic so far. This is a very enjoyable smoke, the tastes you get is simply amazing. Tastes as good as it smells, and burns perfectly every time. Does not take much drying time (at least the tin I got didn’t). It is just a great tobacco with some great taste. Leaves a pleasant taste on the palate.

Has a really great flavor profile, subtlety sweet with no bite. I like to mix it with great Dane since they really compliment eachother.

I’m not a big aromatic tobacco smoker. However, this one is quite the exception. If you want a good tasty smoke with a wonderful room note, this one makes everyone happy around you.

Amazing room note and smoke

This is the only aromatic pipe tobacco with flavors that come through to the tongue as advertised. Room note is pleasant and complimented by non-smokers. Flavor has more than one dimension. Tin note reflects flavors as advertised, and if even a single bowlful is left out to dry, will leave the room smelling pleasant. Some nice tobacco flavors come through as well. This is the best aromatic pipe tobacco I've experienced, and the only one with detectable smoking flavors as advertised.

A real nice tobacco! At first I packed it too tight and I didn’t like it. When I loosely packed it in a larger pipe it smoked amazingly well and lasted a lot longer than I could believe. Definitely one of the best tobaccos I have ever had the pleasure of smoking.

The aroma of perfection. The whiff of delicacy.. the quality of passion and the potency of delectability. It tastes like a dessert dish and so smooth you won’t even believe it’s tobacco. I love that first opening smell and I partner this a lot with Eileen’s Dream or Crème brûlée and always makes my evenings that much more delicious and calming. Superb blend.

A good aromatic tobacco but creme brûlée by Sutliff is much better. I would highly recommend both.

Delicious tin note with excellent room note and delicious mouth note and feel. My favorite tobacco so far, I highly recommend this dessert-themed smoke. Always a bit moist, leaves a bit of moisture in the pipe, but WELL worth it. A stellar blend for aromatic lovers.

Smooth and mellow. The flavors come through and are easily discernible. The vanilla and caramel mix well with just a little sweetness from the honey. Rich but not overpowering aroma with a nice room note. And even better, Molte Dolce is easy on the tongue. This has become my favorite tobacco.

Tin note: A lot of people just tell others what is already written about this flavor and really don’t give their own opinion it seems. When I close my eyes and smell this, it smells just like peppermint patties. It has a very sweet smell. I do smell vanilla and cocoa. Taste: the taste is good. Very sweet and rich. I taste a subtle spicy mint flavor. I also taste the caramel and vanilla. Mild cocoa flavor. I will buy this again!

Some people rave about this tobacco, but I found it a bit too strong for my liking, it works best for me using it as a blending agent.

It’s a very wet and hard to get started blend that I have mixed with some escudo or stokkebye bulls eye coins or some I-Q. After a couple minutes you have a warm moist caramel and vanilla that isn’t as strong as you’d think and a very mild cake like base. Has almost no bite. Taste opens up if you leave some out on a paper plate over night.

My second favorite Aromatic behind Cult Blood Red Moon. A sweet tobacco of Vanilla, Chocolate, and Caramel. A little goopy but hey not a bad thing. Best smoked in a cob. It will help with a sweet tooth too. No bite and a very good smoke. Highly recommend.

The name of this blend is extremely appropriate; Molto Dolce translates to "Very Sweet" and this indeed is a very sweet blend that instantly became a favorite of mine. Other reviews here have given tasting and room note descriptions far beyond that which I could contribute, but what I can say is that I absolutely adore this blend and I constantly find myself pitting it up against Old Toby from The Country Squire as my favorite aromatic (they're damn near identical). The only downside is that it's quite moist and needs some dry time, but that's to be expected with a heavily cased aro like this one. Absolutely stellar when smoked in a neked corn cob - treat yourself and pick up a tin.

I get this for my husband because he loves how smooth it burns. I also love the smell better than most other tobaccos he smokes. It’s a great quality tobacco and we’ll always come back for more.

I enjoy Sutliff Molto Dolce. However, by itself, it is very sweet and moist. I mix two parts Molto Dolce with three parts Amphora Full Aroma. Then, it is perfect. The aroma and flavor of Molto Dolce remain and the Amphora Full Aroma rounds it out makes it less moist. I find that mixing the two blends has made for a perfect smoke.

Im new to the pipe world, and its extremely hard to find a pipe shop within a two hour radius frome where i live. I have had a few of the recommended tobaccos on this site and they are good. Recently i bought some Molto Dolce, hot damn it was amazing. Yes it was very wet compared to other tobaccos but what an amazing blend. The sweet note and the smell were joyful for me and to others. Again im new to the pipe world so my Palette may not be exquisite or defined as others. However what I can say is, for somebody that wants to get into smoking tobacco pipes this is a homerun, I almost like this blend more than I like Lane 1Q or the 1M vanilla, (both are awesome). As far a tounge bite- the burn or bitter liquid the comes from some tobaccos, i did not get it form this, but i also smoke low and slow.

This stuff is awesome! Very sweet, and very flavorful. The caramel, baking spices, and vanilla toppings really make this one smell and taste great. I purchased two tins on my last order. I would recommend drying it out some before smoking because it’s very wet. Give it a try!

Love this blend. I’m a somewhat new pipe smoker (6 months now) and Molto is in my top 5. Very smooth and cool burning. The flavor as the name implies is very sweet. It fits the description of a dessert smoke. My one complaint is that it’s very moist and may have to be relighted a few times. Over a fantastic smoke. Highly recommend.

This is a very enjoyable smoke. I just bought this for the very first time and I absolutely love it. A smooth and creamy smoke with excellent room notes. My wife often complains about me smoking in the house however, she has yet to complain when I smoke this. No tongue bites, and very flavorful with hints of caramel, vanilla and honey. The perfect desert to any meal.

I absolutely love this blend! My only grip is it is very wet and sticky. I have experimented with blending this with other blends and have come to a special blend I call "Paw Paw's Mix". 1/3 equal parts of Molto Dolce, Scotty's Trout Stream, and Lanes 1Q.

I have tried several tobaccos over the past year and this is my favorite hands down

First time smoking this tabacco and I was very happy. It smoked mild with hints of honey and caramel. I actually had people say they smelled a chocolate odor. It's a bit difficult to get it lighted in the beginning but burns well .A couple of times it burned hot otherwise it was a smooth smoke with a nice room note. I will definitely keep this smoke as part of my rotation.

this Molto Dolce, in my humble opinion, presents as a special occasion tobacco. Great smoking experience that should be shared with others when you need an ego boost. Ya, I went there...

Extremely wet, dry for two hours before putting in the pipe. Overall a pleasant aroma and sweet smoke. I will be rotating it with CAO Eileen's Dream, not sure which one is better at this time.

A very moist tobacco, need to dry out some before smoking. And love the sweet taste. Love it so much I bought 8 cans, don't want to run low.

Just an FYI Buy the sutliff cream brûlée 16oz bag same exact tobacco flavor etc.. so your not just getting a little can of tobacco you can’t buy this that way for some reason under this name but that’s probably why they haven’t because it’s already available in the cream brûlée ..

There’s no difference in this sutliff mixture and there cream brûlée 16oz bag . I have the cream brûlée 16oz bag I’ve smoked it down to a nestle glass coffee jar full is all that’s left .. very nice tasting mild easy smoke and I’m a little partial to the sweet vanilla aroma it’s not over barring at all .. although I mostly prefer a plum pudding or something along those lines later in the day but this will make a nice morning or perhaps all day smoke it’s certainly mild enough..

This mixture has a nice aroma and flavor, however when I first opened the canister, the tobacco was too moist and difficult to keep lit. I corrected this problem by letting it dry out for 24 hours.

Nothing more to say if you like a tasty sweet smoke, this stuff is awesome! It is very wet and needs a few minutes to dry before packing, even than it still has a bit of a crackle, smokes wet, but worth it!

New piper here so don’t take much of this to heart because some maybe me. The taste is great but the first bowl seemed a little wet. I took off the lid for 6 hours and stirred every 2 hours then the next bowl was perfect. Like I said I am just a beginner. I will definitely purchase this again. The aroma is wonderful.

This isn’t quite what I was expected but it’s delightful. In addition to the creamy caramel and vanilla notes, I get a whiff of coconut. This is a keeper. I’m still getting to know this one.

I am a fairly new piper, so this is more for other Noobs than for veteran smokers. On opening the tin, I got a real nice rich aroma. The tobacco itself was very moist, so I let it dry a bit. When first lit, the same nice aroma came through. To my uneducated palate there was something and something else, and probably something beside that. It all added up to a wonderful taste that came through in a full silky smoke. In spite of the moisture, it burned well with just a few relights. In my short experience, this is up there in my top three blends.

Best tobacco ever! Only compliant is that it is not sold in larger amounts.

It seems very moist upon first opening the tin, but it does burn well to gray ash. The tin note is sweet and the room note is pleasing. None to very little bite for this aromatic a tobacco. If you are looking for a sweet treat, then this is it. Plus, I don’t think anyone within whiffing distance will complain.

I recommend drying for smoking, had a heavy sweet Caramel flavor very enjoyable seems to hold the flavor all the way through then end, one of my favorites.

Me and my friend loved this. The smell is so pleasant and smokes so smooth. There's certainly a lot going on in this tobacco. To me the tobacco has kind of a coconut cream smell to it. I know that's not what's advertised, but that's what I get. Regardless, I loved it.

I love this stuff, it is exactly as it describes, beautiful aromatic, and the taste is unlike anything I have ever had. It taste beautiful, the honey and caramel are very predominant in this. The only reason it gets four stars is because it is wet, very wet. I let this sit and rest for an hour and it still sizzles a bit. This is my only complaint, but the taste and smell far outweighs this minor inconvenience. Overall if you enjoy aromatics, or are looking for something that actually taste good, this is top quality, and the best in its class. It burns cold, and is not strong at all on the nicotine, very new smoker, people friendly.

Best aromatic I’ve ever smoked! Sweet, mild and very pleasing room note. No tongue bite whatsoever. Perfect for the last smoke of the day with a ‘special’. When snooty non smokers are stuffing up your gathering, light up a bowl of this stuff and they’ll quickly warm up to pipe smoking. It beats all the aromatics I’ve ever smoked, and I’m a dedicated burley smoker.

i love this stuff.....but i have to cut it with a 1:1 mixture of something a bit drier and more benign to really enjoy it. i use Prince Albert and enjoy the burn, the great, mellow taste, and the people around me rave about the room note. what's not to like?

Definitely one of my favorites! It's a sweet, carmaly smoke. A real treat to puff on! Only real draw back for me was how wet the tobacco is, but with a little drying time (24+ hours) it was smoke able.

I got this impulsively from a local shop a few months ago unsure if I would like it because it was sealed, but this has been the best surprise. My favorite aroma and smoking experience. So fresh, clean, and just rich.

This might be a new favorite for an all-day puff while you get your work done. It's a no-bite, smooth; its vanilla and caramel tones are evident with a dip of the nose into the tin. Oily on your finger, but it goes in well and burns perfectly. Pleasant all around.

I like the flavors here, but it's pretty stout. I prefer this after a big meal with a coffee... fat, dumb, happy, ready to nappy. I'll probably buy an ounce here and there for those times.

I rate this as one of my top tobaccos. It's mellow sweet smoke exceeded my expectations. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a dessert tobacco.

Hands down my favorite Sutliff blend. Smooth, flavorful and never a tongue bite. Just be sure to dry it out before smoking it.

Incredible tin note and smokes really nicely. The tin I received is pretty moist. I have to dry a bowl full for a few hours before enjoying. But, wow! It's worth it.

This is my new go to. The only thing is that it is really moist right out of the tin. I set mine out to dry and then you’re ready to rock ‘n’ roll

Great flavor. Needs about 30-45 minutes to dry out a little before you pack and light it. Great smoke, nonetheless. ENJOY!

Great flavor!

I was unfamiliar with this particular brand and blend but decided to take a chance on it and ordered a single tin along with my regular choice. I am definitely glad I did because this tobacco has a brilliant personality. The room note, flavor, and mouthfeel are perfect with a unique flavor that is present but not overpowering. This is probably going to end up in my number one go-to spot although I will still keep my favorite blend on hand. I highly recommend this for both experienced as well as newer smokers who may want to experiment with something that is slightly outside the standard run of the mill flavors. I would note this is a very moist blend so you may have to allow a short air cure before packing the pipe but I do this by default anyway I just add a little more time for this blend.

Vanilla, Caramel, and Honey. Smells amazing in the tin, makes you want to eat it with a spoon! Soft creamy smoke that carries the smell and flavor. It’s an upgrade over Vanilla Custard and Cream Brûlée, both are also amazing!

Honestly the best blend I’ve ever smoked. A lot of hints of cream and vanilla. I consider this my milk & honey of all pipe tobacco blends. Very subtle with a beautiful aroma. I recommend this blend for people who like sweetness on the palate and mild.

This is such a task desert! My daughter says it smells like pancakes, everything else she says smells like campfire! Lol

Been wanting to try this stuff for a while and let me tell you this stuff is top notch. Smooth smoke, great room note, and very tasty. I did notice it was a tad on the wet side when I first opened but let it get some air for about a half hour and it was ok. Definitely will buy more

Love this blend in my rotation. Tin note has a soda like aroma, almost like pepsi. Very sweet notes of honey and vanilla. If the gods of mt. Olympus smoked pipes this is what they would smoke. It's like Nectar it's amazing. Very wet but burns well. Little dottle.

Very interesting blend a true aromatic. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not a goopy mess left in the bowl. It all burned off,no mess. Pleasant room note had several compliments on the smell. Now it will add a bit of the ghost to the pipe your smoking it in but if you can delicate one to it. You will always have a perfect combination.

My first impression upon opening the tin was not great. I did not get the rich, smooth, cream vanilla I expected. I loaded the first bowl, not allowing the tobacco to sit open at all. I could not keep it lit. The first bowl was dumped within minutes of loading. The next day I decided to let the tobacco sit open for a bit and then took what I was going to smoke, spread it out and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. The tobacco was then loaded and very lightly packed. This bowl burned great! Very few relights and the smoke was very smooth, cool, and tasty! A keeper IMO! Definitely too wet to burn straight out of the tin.

A really smooth Tabaco with no bite. I search for something like this after they stopped making Caramel Rush. I finally found it and I love it.

Best tobacco I've tried so far.. I'm not an expert on how to describe why I like it but it was really light & easy to smoke - a more pleasant taste & stayed lit longer than others I've had.. I left the tin open for an hour or so before I smoked it, a lot of people online said to do that because of the moisture - 100% will buy this again

A little on the moist side, but not bad. Great tin notes. Doesn't quite burn as sweet or flavorful as it smells in the can. I did have trouble keeping a bowl lit so after I finished half the can, I blended in some Lane 1-Q and improved the burn-ability quite a bit. I should have used some Lane BCA and probably would have been much better overall. Maybe I'll buy some more of this stuff and try that. I'm new to Sutliff blends and I'm looking for sweet vanilla. If you pack a bowl and suck on it without lighting it, it has amazing flavor. But how long can you do that? A couple other reviewers mentioned this stuff so I thought I'd give it a try. And I found it OK, but just OK. I'm really looking for a pleasing room note for the Mrs. And this just wasn't what I was hoping for, but certainly worth a try and now I have a tin of custom blend that isn't too bad either!

My first time trying this, was pleasantly surprised at how cool it smoked (for me) I’ve always had hit or miss experiences with aromatic tobacco as it would burn my mouth or Tongue, but not this, it tastes very good as well.

Delicious and very mellow smoke. If I could offer one suggestion, let it dry a bit and either hand grind it or use a grinder; it will smoke perfectly that way.

The best aromatic I’ve ever had! I like that and lane 1q a lot. Its soo weird cuz when I open and smell the stuff in the tin, I get this strange minty smell! But when I smoke it, the slightly minty (tin note), turns into creamy milk, with sugary caramel infused! Its delicious. I’m a smoker that likes to blow out through my nose a lot and with this stuff, it makes my brain very delighted to do so.

I found this to be a beautiful addition to my regular smoking tobacco. Nice hints of vanilla chocolate and roasted tobacco. Only reason I give it a 4 is because it was a little of a challenge to get started.
