Interesting content, but not particularly well written. Pictures were provocative but some not explained well, or at all; not readily apparent what some of the pictures were.
Still, a nice bonus gift and again interesting.

This was a pleasant surprise. I read the entire book in one night. And I don't even smoke a pipe. Just a good, interesting read. I'm going to give this as a gift to my brother who actually makes "bowls" or um... pipes from various fruit tree burls. I think he'll enjoy it. Thanks for including this with my order, and thanks for filling my order. C.J.

It was very interesting in there were parts that I hadn't know because I hadn't thought about the history and why some things were done in making a pipe and why.

Better than expected. Excellent photography and interesting information. The only way it could be better is if it was a thicker book with more content.

This book is small, but I found it a thoroughly enjoyable and informative short read. It is well done, and unpretentious - doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not, but surprisingly comprehensive. I spent a very pleasant hour or two with it, and will surely revisit it in time.

This won’t make The NY Times best sellers list but it is a quick read filled with helpful info on making your pipe smoking more enjoyable. Packing a pipe and identifying a a well-made pipe were of the most interest for me.

Well designed and pleasant little book good to show to people who ask questions like: "Where do they grow Cavendish?", "Is briar better than wood?" or "Do all English tobaccos come from England?"

This is a small sized paper back book that was very informative to me since I am fairly new to pipe smoking. I occasionally refer back to the section on different tobacco types to help me choose what I want to smoke. Good book to share with others interested in becoming part of the pipe smoking community. I definitely recommend this to others.

I speak ONLY for myself, IMO, a good read, very informative, and would be worthwhile for anybody that enjoys reading and possibly learning something new.
So, if you're a pipe smoker, which I assume you are or you wouldn't be reading this review.
Get a copy, Pick up your favorite pipe and blend, Kick back and enjoy another little something that will only be found at P&C.
I found it worthwhile and I really don't care much for reading, but, occassionally I stumble across something that intrigues me to read it, and this did it.
Thanks Again P&C

Very nice small book with very interesting informations for biggeners. Veteran pipe smoker might find this book to be not very worthy. The editing and pictures quality are good and its a brief rounded guide for those who are just starting the hobby.

I am new to pipe smoking and felt this was a great book on pipe smoking. It was well written and very enjoyable. Hopefully there will be a second book to follow.

This booklet is as described an introduction to the wonderful world of "The Pipe". You would be hard pressed to detail all that is involved in the making and smoking of a good solid pipe. But, this is a start. I enjoyed the read.

As a long time pipe smoker and collector fine carvings, I am even more awed at what goes into creating these works of art. A must read for new smokers of fine briar and tobaccos!

This tome is for the new or experienced pipe smoker. New info for the young and a reminder for the old. One is never too old to learn.

New pipe smokers or old ones like me, will get real information to learn or refresh their memory. This is the best written, illustrated and informative book I have read. It’s not long, but you will be surprised how much is presented.
Truly a book you will keep and read many times, enjoying it more each time.
I would pay for the author to write his second book quickly.
