This has been my go-to smoke for years. I've smoked so much of it in fact I'm kind of burnt out with it - literally, I guess. It's a great blend; mild but substantial and complex. I season it with whiskey as it dries out in my dry western climate, which basically turns it into a perfect aromatic.

This became my daily smoker some years ago after trying out and really liking most of the Larsen line, more than nearly any other brand. I keep experimenting with other tobaccos and coming back to it. It’s a great baseline; a “Goldilocks” kind of smoke. Neither too this nor too that. It tends to quickly get a little dried out in the high altitude climate where I live, so I add little splashes of Irish whiskey or bourbon when necessary, turning it into my absolute favorite smoke. When friends have tried it after such treatment, they’ve likewise been converted.

This is an amazing tobacco. The first thing I noticed was a slight hint of what I can only describe as dried apples. It's very smooth smoking, not too heavy, and retains the apple scent when lit. I'm very pleased.

Great aromatic tobacco that has a sweet taste. Mild nicotine strength with the main olfactory experience in the citrus family and secondary ones in chocolate aromas.

The tin note is pleasant. But it is kind of dry and burns hot. Flavor is very subtle when smoked.

This is an enjoyable tobacco. I have only smoked small increments at this time, I think it might fare well in my deeper bowl.

This is one of my favorite aromatics. It has just a hint of sweetness, which is what I look for in aromatics.

I’m not good at writing in depth complex reviews so I’ll cut to the chase. Overall I really like it you get a nice sweet smoke with hints of citrus and chocolate. It says you should also taste Irish cream I didn’t detect that but perhaps someone else will that’s the beauty of everyone having a different palate.

Aromatic, citrus, chocolate, apricot and barley.
Pair well with scotch or red/blond ales/beers.

This is a wonderful example of a Danish Blend with mild aromatic qualities but full tobacco taste and flavor. Superb room note will be a crowd pleaser wherever you decide to enjoy this blend. Highly recommended.. Cheers All !!

A strong smoking tobacco with a bite, OK if that;\'s what you prefer.

Afternsmoking the Larson 2017 craftsman I had high hopes for this blend. Well, I'm sorry to report, this tobacco fell way short of those expectations. The tin aroma is wonderful, presentation great, however, the tastes during smoking is practically non existent. When you are able to tastes the tobacco it's a ashy burn tastes that is not pleasent. I would suggest you tread carefully on this one. Not for me.

W.O. Larsen is a brand with many positive reviews. Having never tried any of their selections I settled on "1864" based solely on description. It's not a bad blend by any means, in fact it is very much as described with a promising and pleasant aroma and a mild to moderate room note. The tin is beautiful, and inside the tobacco comes sealed in a foil bag...very nice. So, why not 4 or 5 stars? Well, it was totally dried out right out of the vacuum sealed bag I unsealed myself. I'm not sure how this could have happened or if this is rare or typical of the brand. Personally, I would like to have tried this same mixture a bit moister. Overall, if the description sounds good to you and other reviews have led you to "1864", I'd say try it. If you have no issues with dry tobacco you could easily enjoy this "Perfect Mixture". If however, you like your aromatics a bit on the sweet and sticky side, you may want to try another.

Only recently started getting into aromatics. I wanted something not overly sweet but enough to satisfy the craving for something a little more falvourful. I picked up a tin of perfect mixture and it's just the ticket. Mild sweetness but with a good flavour. It does tend to burn hot and I do get tongue bite, but I find smoking it in my petersons with a 9m filter fixes the problem.
It's a great tobacco and worth trying.

The tin is beautiful and the tobacco is sealed in a gold metallic bag. The presentation is everything you would want in a premium product. The tin note is amazing! You will want to eat it! The texture feels about perfect as far as wet and dryness but is a little deceiving because it still needs a little drying time. The smoke is full and balanced. I'm not good at describing flavor a but there is a nice dark chocolate flavor. There is a nice smokey flavor that is nice. I don't like Latakia and this tobacco has none in it but it does has a nice smoky flavor that I like.
This is by far my favorite aromatic. It smokes wet and I have to run a pipe cleaner about four times a bowl. It's a bit of a pain but it's worth the hassle. It could also be that it's so mouthwatering delicious that I'm causing the wet stem!

This is my favorite pipe tobacco with a beautiful sweet smell from the tin.
When smoked, room notes are fragrant with citrus and some cherry.
On the pallette Grand Marnier, dark chocholate and slight caramel.
Low nicotien content so never gives a headache compared to others I've tried.
Quite excellet when paired with an Islay Scotch, especially Bowmore's Sherry Cask and any Laphroaig.

For me, I found the tobacco to burn hot, and did not have much flavor.
