4th Generation 1982 Centennial Blend is a unique and flavorful way to celebrate 100 years of tobacco-making history. This pipe tobacco blend combines nicely-sweet Virginias, soft Burleys, a special mellow black Cavendish and a touch of broken navy flake with a pleasant top note of creamy vanilla and tart, fragrant blackberry. This 4th Generation pipe tobacco is a remarkably gentle blend with a smooth and mellow taste and outstanding aroma. Aside from the 1982 Centennial Blend, all you need now is a 4th Generation pipe from P&C to ensure an enjoyable pipe smoking experience with a pleasing aroma.
My fiancé got me the "Tobacco of the Month" as a gift. This tin came in the March 2015 selection. I've been smoking a pipe for 45 years, and this is now among my "Top Ten" favorites. It is wonderful. I'm going to order a half-dozen tins for special times.
I am an admitted rookie when it comes to pipe tobacco, but I really enjoy this blend. Its a smooth smoke and the fruit flavors come across excellent especially during lighting and relighting. I don't pick up on the vanilla notes as of yet, maybe that will develop later on. Its not too wet and very much smokable out of the tin. My novice palate gives it a 4.5 out of 5
