I'm a fan of Sutliff tabacco, especially vanilla custard z92 and this Admirals Choice vanilla cavendish is yet another great product, yes it says castle tabacco but they're owned by Sutliff. Either way great smoke, light and tasty, not too heavy and a great room note. Compared to smokers pride I'd take this anyway, infact I'll be ordering more as I'm making this my everyday smoke!

I'll tell you honestly, I am not a big fan of "value" tobacco. They are geared mainly for either cigarette smokers who roll their own or cigarette smokers eager to change to a pipe. Values tobacco's may be a good transitional tobacco for them. Admiral's Choice is different. It is definitely a pipe smoker's tobacco and, while it is cased, it is not done overly so. It doesn't have the chemical taste of Pinkerton or Captain Black or their bite. The vanilla overwhelms the tobacco taste somewhat, but not overly so. I detected no bite and the only problem I had with it was that it was overly moist, which is easily corrected. Nor did the bag contain many sticks like other "value" brands. The moistness kept me from giving it a fifth star, but otherwise it can hold its own with many other tobaccos.For the price, it is a damned good pipe tobacco. My suggestion is that if you have a limited budget, try this one. You won't be disappointed.

Love your site, great customer service, etc., but I'm usually disappointed with all the so-called aromatic pipe tobacco' s, all the tobacco's pretty much all tasting, even smelling the same, after the initial opening of their bags and getting a whiff of the said aromatic...but that's it, the party is over. In short, I would love there to be a stronger concentration of the tobacco, but this is just my opinion and desire. Perhaps the addition of aromatic essences is just too involved?

I honestly bought this because I liked the packaging and name. But I did read the reviews and people had many good reviews. Taste is very subjective so I take reviews with a grain of salt. I do however like this tobacco and I am a very big fan of vanilla. The taste and room note aren't very strong but that is why I smoke a pipe. It is smooth and has a nice aroma but if you smoke it too fast it will smell like cigarettes. Enjoy

Tried Admiral's Cherry and the Vanilla to test out a "value" tobacco that I remembered from the drugstores. The Cherry did not work for me for a lot of reasons but this Vanilla was really good in comparison. Not overwhelming with the Cavendish vanilla flavoring but the tobacco was smooth smoking and very a pleasant room note. I think I'm going to keep a stock of this in the rotation. At these prices you really can't beat it and it's totally mixable with stouter blends.

Surprisingly pretty good. Vanilla note was just right. This taste better than a lot of other vanilla flavors I tried. One of my favorites and would recommend you give it a try. For the price its a great buy!

This tobacco is mild with very little bite. It does lack in the flavor department, but still is quite smokable and the cost makes it even moreso.

very wet, but i blend it with ohm turk. red, good taste and aroma. just hard to keep burning, unless you blend it. PandC sells OHM tobacco now, so happy. was having to buy it from an other site. now i can buy everything i need from here.

While some might consider it presumptuous to set the feedback rating at a perfect five stars, in this case it is totally merited. I've now ordered from Pipes and Cigars several times, and always found theur service to be excellent! And the Admiral's Choice tobacco is the best for the price. Yes, you can find better tobacco, but at three or more times the price, and it won't be much better. Thank you Pipes and Cigars.

A grand range of pipe tobaccos and a great selection of well made affordable pipes; I love the cob pipes and own several for a surprisingly good every day smoke. I have one firmly between my teeth as I right this review. All I can say is I am truly grateful I found Pipes and Cigars.
My most recent purchase was Admiral's Choice tobacco. It is a mild smoke and quite pleasing for an 8 ouncer that is also affordable for even we old guys like myself who exist on Social Security. One bag per month and an occasional new pipe and I'm a happy camper.

It is what it is. It's a cheap vanilla tobacco. Certainly not the best but not as sickly sweet as some others I've tried. If you want a decent all day smoke on a budget, give it a try

For utilitarian smoke which runs cheap. Can't beat this. It does have a very pungent tobacco smell though. Similar to just regular cigarettes. It isn't as aromatic as a higher quality blend. But it's good daily smoker.

This is where I started, and my constant smoke. My neighbor in his early 80's at the time was always smoking his pipe. I could smell it from 50ft outside on a good day. Could usually know if he was on his front porch when I walked outside. I am a bit biased because of this. Sent me after this when I asked about it and have been pleased with smoking a pipe ever since thanks to him. The Vanilla smell is something no one has ever disliked. A nice cool, mild smoke. I smoke this throughout the day and was good for me to start on. I will say, a bit of tongue bite is expected but for the price and the aroma....I can't say much bad about this despite others strong opinions.

Admiral's Choice Vanilla is a very mild aromatic blend. It is not a Black Cavendish but a Brown Cavendish and has a very light Vanilla topping. Nothing goopy or sticky. Very pleasing aroma and what a deal for $8.99... I prefer the Black and Gold as it has more flavor and aroma but the vanilla is nice too. I was upset that CVS stopped carrying the Admiral but P&C remedied that for us!

Granted, I have only been smoking a pipe for about 4 months. I have not acquired much of ability to really discern the subtle differences between many of the tobacco products. I did find this to be pretty smooth without any bite. I was not expecting a drug store brand like this to be that good. I was fairly impressed by it.

It's too bad - I really liked the taste of this tobacco but there's so much PG in this stuff, it sounds like your frying bacon on high heat. Its got more snap, crackle, and pop than a bowl of rice crispies. I even tried drying it on a tray, in my room, outside in full sun, and even pressing it between paper towel with some heavy books as weights. I just couldn't get enough PG out of it to make it a pleasant experiences. Sutliff makes some descent stuff - but they must have really doused this stuff to make sure it had an eternal shelf life. So if you have to - smoke it slow or you will torch your mouth. Sorry - it could have been a descent smoke. Also tried the Cherry - it was the same, but the cherry-flavor was brutal so stick with the vanilla if you decide this is worth a try.
