I remember when Alec Bradley Occidental Reserve first showed up in our humidor. At the time, I didn't know much about the company, so I didn't know what to make of these cigars, but knowing that they were blended by Henke Kelner, the man who also developed Davidoff and AVO, I had a good feeling about them. In spite of that, I was often wary of bundles, especially ones that I had never seen before.
I needn't have worried. These long-filler handmades sport an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, and Dominican Olor, Piloto Cubano, and San Vincente fillers for a profile of toast, cream, wood, leather, and mellow spice. That sounds pretty good for a five or six dollar cigar, but when they sell starting under $4 each, well, it's a no brainer to add Alec Bradley Occidental Reserve to your wish list.
