Amphora Burley Sale

I blended this with blending red Virginia ribbon about 50-50 and this is a nice, flavorful smoke.

Amphora Burley Blend is better in quality leaf than typical OTC burley blends, and yet not up there with the boutique-ey burleys that I find too overpowering. So it fills a very nice niche: good quality yet not too heavy. If you're in the mood for a nice burley this is one of those. I prefer the Amphora Original, Full Aroma, and Virginia blends, which I'd give 5 stars, but this burley blend is good tobacco well blended. Doesn't bite or leave a wet dottle in the bowl. Benefits from a few minutes drying before filling your pipe, and has a bit of Virginia to sweeten the dry nuttiness of the burley.

Could easily be a tin tobacco, really good quality and taste.

This blend is a solid competitor to other higher priced Burley blends. Amphora Burley comes to you in a pouch instead of a tin and as a broken flake which with proper drying time offers a cooler, no bite smoke and loads of nutty Burley flavor. I like to mix in a little perique for added spice and vitamin N. I highly recommend Amphora Burley, as well as the Virginia and Kentucky blends. The Amphora products are of a much higher quality than what you would normally expect from a pouch tobacco, they are worthy of a tin yet are much more economical selling at around 1/2 the cost of a tinned tobacco of comparable quality.

A quality broken flake Burley blend. Tastes like it's got some age on it, and for a tobacco this inexpensive, that's just terrific. Contrary to popular lore, a good Burley leaf does in fact benefit from age; I've opened six-year Burley tins to find the smoke richer and fuller than the same blend less than a year old. All the expected Burley flavors of cocoa and nuts just keep getting better in my experience. Amphora Burley somewhat resembles HH Burley Flake and the much-storied Solani Aged Burley Flake, though it is very much its own good smoke. Others have noted that the flavor profile of Amphora Burley is close to that of HH Burley, and it's true to some extent. It's not quite as rich and bready and chocolatey as the HH, but the flavors are there. Having said that, Amphora Burley is a nice rich Burley for all that. It's got the classic roasted nuts-chocolate-fresh baked bread thing going on. The wonderful pure and natural Burley tobacco flavor is center stage and delicious, well beyond its modest price tag. The smoke is relatively cool and creamy. It's very difficult to get this tobacco to bite--in fact, I don't think I experienced it at all. I still like the HH a bit better, but the Amphora Burley hits the spot for so little money. It looks, feels, smokes, and tastes like a boutique tinned Burley flake. I wish they offered it in bulk, and maybe as a beautiful thin flake like the HH and Solani. Neither the HH nor the Amphora can match Solani's Burley, but that's perhaps an unfair comparison. Like any good quality Burley, Amphora Burley is the best friend of coffee and black tea. I quickly went through the whole pouch just as a morning smoke with a hot beverage. Delicious and satisfying.

For me this a good solid smoke. Nice burley flavor. No notable bite. I am more of a fan of Amphora Kentucky. So I feel my opion of this blend may be skewed. For me I rank SWR before this one

Like burley tobacco, you will like this. Pure tobacco taste but b/c its burley slight hints of nutty and coco flavors . Packs easily and burns true. I get compliments of the room note. I detect no flavorings just true tobacco smell right from the pouch. If you are a burley smoker, do yourself a favor and try this Amphora burley.

I do not experience any sweetness from the Virginia in this blend. I do get a sweet/sour taste in the Kentucky blend which I like. I might look for a sweet Virginia to mix with this.

This is one of the better burley blends in today’s world of lower tobacco quality than what we older pipe smokers enjoyed back in the 1960’s and 1970’s. It’s burley forward flavor is medium/strong but the nic level is lower allowing several bowls a day. I enjoy it and it will be a regular for me.

If you like the taste of burley, this is good go to blend. Smokes smoothly as well.

I was expecting a straightforward medium OTC type burley blend that would be rather neutral and "get the job done" This is instead a wonderful earthy and slightly smokey rubbed out flake that is priced far below its pedigree. Similar to HH Burley flake but a little more strength and flavor. And better IMO, this one is a winner.

Not great, decent flavor, but the cut is too rough.

I don't regularly smoke burley blends. But this is a blend that even I can enjoy. Mild to Medium in strength. Mild in taste. This is a delicious blend that will gain accolades around the world. The finest burley mixture that I have ever enjoyed.
