Astley's No. 1 Mixture is a beautifully balanced blend of rich, leathery Latakia, toasty red Virginia, earthy Turkish, and mellow-sweet unflavored black Cavendish. The natural smokiness of the Latakia is perfectly accented by a soft sweetness, making this a fine choice at any time.
Hits all the right notes for my tastes as an all day smoke. a little tanginess with a nice and smooth bit of latakia.

A Potential "Go-To"

This is an excellent English blend. I have about a third of a tin remaining from my original order and still enjoy a bowl from time to time. The Latakia is present, but not overwhelming. The Virginia's seem to sweeten this tobacco and the Cavendish provides a good room note. You can be sure that I will order this again. I have already ordered and received the Astley's No. 99. I doubt I will be disappointed with this order. Take a chance and give Astley's No. 1 a try.
