The Asylum 13 brand is the result of Christian Eiroa ( of Camacho fame) and Tom Lazuka joining forces to create a line of premium cigars available in heftier ring gauges while not sacrificing flavor or construction. Now Asylum 13 Connecticut brings a slightly smoother profile to the line, but it still makes a bold statement.
Asylum 13 Connecticut begins with a variety of Honduran-grown Cuban-seed long-filler tobaccos. Blended to be a bit punchier than most cigars in this category, they're finished off with a satiny-smooth, blonde Ecuadorian Connecticut shade-grown wrapper. This soft to medium-bodied line has some of the notes you would expect from the wrapper it uses - leather and oak, but then it gets boosted by hints of roasted nuts and coffee and some white pepper. If you're looking for a Connecticut Shade cigar that won't lull you to sleep, give Asylum 13 Connecticut a try.
