Bari pipes were very popular in the mid to late seventies, known for their distinctly Danish styling, gorgeous finishes and trim, and excellent attention to detail. This was strongly evidenced in their freehand pipes, and this Bari Wiking Freehand is a very nice example. It's a fairly large pipe with a slightly larger than average chamber, but is fairly light for its size. The shank and back face of the bowl are sandblasted and finished in black, showing some amazing ring grain. The rest of the briar is stained with a ruby hue that Bari used frequently. The stem is like new and the nomenclature is pretty clean. There's no sign of charring. There are a couple of very minor dings that you have to look for to find. It comes with a black leather glove and will make some Danish pipe fan very happy. Please buy it because I'm tempted to myself.
