If you have a singular element from which to make a pipe tobacco, you will want it to be the star of the show, and that's what you get from the Mac Baren/Sutliff collaboration, Birds of a Feather - Anomalous.
Created from Sutliff tobaccos by Mac Baren's master blender, Per Georg Jensen using Sutliff's signature red Virginias, their rich and sweet stoved black Virginia, and some mellow, woody Burley, this blend goes to the next level by the inclusion of a good amount of unique Katerini Perique, developed by Mark Ryan. He took fine Orientals and fermented them in the same manner as Perique, resulting in a tobacco with more deep sweetness and less spice than traditional Perique. With this interesting element, Birds of a Feather - Anomalous has an underlying sweetness, a toasty quality, along with cedary undertones. Since Katerini Perique was only made one time, this will be your last chance to try this "unicorn" leaf, so get some of this blend before it's gone.
