Blending - Cigar Leaf

I like to use this chopped Pennsylvania Maduro leaf to add earthiness, a bit of sweetness and a creaminess to a blend. Works well with a lot of different types of mixtures. Moderately high in nicotine, average burn rate.

Please note: Some of our blending tobaccos arrive in a dry state from the manufacturer since they don't add humectants to these tobaccos. We aren't allowed by law to add any moisture to the tobaccos we sell, so they may arrive rather dry, but will rehumidify easily.

Decent blending component
Decent blending component. Gives a Vaper a nice flavor and thickens up the smoke. It’s a nice change of pace when added To a blend. Definitely arrives a little dry

Great Blender for those who need a bit more strength.
I came from cigars, and the Aromatics didn't really provide the strength I was used to. Blending this leaf with several different tobaccos did the trick. Not really something that should be smoked on its own. It is extremely peppery.

Thought I had left a
Thought I had left a review already but was prompted by email to review, so..... Anyhoo, This blending cigar is STRONG. There is no question this is cigar. Like a ground up White Owl. Hard to use without instantly tasting cigar. Use in teeny tiny amounts. Unless you love a stoag, then have at it. Too much for me. Glad I tried it though. Have yet to find the "creaminess" its supposed to offer, just "stoaginess" at any level I add.

Good stuff
I've bought this cigar leaf a couple times now. I always keep some aside for a pipe full of cigar leaf, but most of it I've mixed with some aromatics to lead out some of the sweetness, and give some complexity to the flavor. And so far the results have always been very good.

Pepper!
Taste tested this before trying it in a blend and was almost overwhelmed by the pepper hit. I suspect like a cigar this would mellow with age and proper humidity but right from the bag it was significant. Hard to distinguish anything else that was going on but it does have earthy tones and a substantial amount of nicotine. Might be useful as a replacement for DFK to provide more depth without losing any kick. Packed well and burned cool so no issues there.

Definite Staple
Earthy, solid tobacco. Great straight or blended. No bite, stays lit, medium strong taste & N level. Highly versatile as either base or supplement.

Glad I Tried This
This is a great tobacco alone or blended. Robust earthy flavor without bite or ashiness. Straight in a cob is a morning treat with a cup of strong coffee. Blends nicely with Dark Fired Kentucky, Longcut VA, Perique, & Latakia so far. Has added body & depth to every blend so far. Also great in a 1&1/4 size hemp paper as a cigarillo. Is now a staple.

What a great addition to blending!
Cigar leaf contributes a smooth, rich, creamy flavor, with no bite and (if you like cigars) a distinct tin and room note. Highly recommend adding some to your blending supplies and trying it out!

A toothsome addition to anyone's blending table
I first tried this blending tobacco as a minor note in a primarily Virginia-based English. The mellow notes got me thinking...what would a blend where the Cigar Leaf would play a more dominate role. This tobacco provides a deep and comfortable nose and a taste of autumn--oaky and smoky--with no bite and no sweet. The blend, which includes substantial Latakia, some Virginia and Orientals, smells somewhat like Balkan Sobraine...a bit. I would encourage anyone with a bit of adventure in blending to dedicate a blend with Cigar Leaf as a big percentage. You will not be disappointed...

The Cigar Leaf--added nose and decreased burn rate...
The Cigar Leaf was part of a seven element blend I built. The Cigar Leaf was added to give a deep note to the taste and the aroma. It performed precisely as I had anticipated, with the added benefit that it worked with the AAA Burley to lower the burn-rate. Quite glad I decided to include it; it really has added character to the blend...

Great for adding nuance and complexity
Blend in judicious amounts with your favorite everyday smoke for a more sophisticated, complex smoke. This Maduro cigar leaf will add a "bergamot-like" nuance. Muting the sweetness of blends such as 1Q, it makes the ordinary a bit more special. It will also add strength to a blend and should be measured according to your own particular nicotine tolerance. For a special treat, combine with a small amount of Latakia in a sweet blend (like 1Q) for a nuanced smoke with a very nice smoky finish. Product arrived in perfect condition and cut for easy distribution in a blend.

I don't know what to say.
I don't have much to say about this cigar leaf. I wouldn't order it again. I would recommend it though.
