Blending - Turkish Ribbon Cut

Turkish tobaccos are small-leaf Orientals that are air-cured. They have flavors that range from floral/herbal to musky. Blending - Turkish Ribbon Cut is a combination of three different Turkish varietals that include the legendary "Queen of Tobaccos", Yenidje. When combined with Virginias and Latakia, this component will produce a blend with a bright, incense-like aroma, As little as 5 percent will make a noticeable impact on the flavor and aroma of a blend.

Love This Blend
Very nice blend. I found that by drying it out it gives me the zingy fragrant flavor I want. Left more moist it has the sour musty bread thing going. VERY versatile. I like it just as it is but it blends well with everything I have tried. Highly recommended.

Surprisingly good on its own
Smooth, semi-sweet and light. Best cigarette you've ever tasted. If cigs tasted like this, and smelled like this to others, they'd be socially acceptable still. Mixed 50/50 with toasted burley, or maybe a pinch of cigar leaf and P.S. dark fired.....really good "American man" smoke.

The best plain ol' Turkish backy ive ever had
This could easily become a staple for me. Smooth, sweet, with a tiny little kick. A nice color and aroma to it as well. I really like this Turkish stuff

exotic flavor
Great flavor, but terribly rough cut. Breathes life into boring or one-dimensional blends. A must-have for anyone who makes (or doctors) their own blends.

Great smoke, greater mixer.
Wonderful, long, thin ribbons that light and burn well. When sparked up, this blend produces a full, slightly but naturally sweet smoke that is earthy and spicy, with incense notes. Beyond a great Turkish when smoked by itself, it shines as a mixer. I make a killer Balkan blend with it, some red cake Virginia and a touch of Latakia. Highly recommend.

Having a particular affinity for
Having a particular affinity for the floral/incense/butter notes that are typically associated with Balkan blends, I find myself in pursuit of some means to further emphasize them. I mix this about 50/50 with Lanes latakia. I know, I know... It's rudimentary, it's novice, but it works for me. It's almost reminiscent of the original frog morton at times. The reason for the three stars is that this seems a middle of the road Oriental mix. Nothing spectacular, but it works pretty well. Just wish I could pin down the floral/incense note and emphasize it.

Superb blending tobacco
Legendary blending tobacco, useful in most any blend to add life to anything with a flat flavor profile - makes a very robust (but oddly not harsh) smoke on its own with some tongue/throat bite almost like a clove cigarette but not as bad. Used for RYO - I'll be back for more of this!

Wonderful
This is the most perfect blending tobacco ever. You can add it to almost any blend and it just smooths out the palate and body perfectly. Could never go without this tobacco. When trying it use small amounts until you get what you desire.

decent Blender
Use small amounts to blend my own English. Very light, cools down the mix when used

Hmmmm, what a pleasant surprise! ;)
Just received my first 4oz. Planned to incorporate it into some of my experiments, but thought I'd try it neat in a small pipe (Dr. Grabow "Duke" - perfect for sampling since it holds about 2grams (~30 mins plus)) - Wow! I'm impressed! I'm looking forward to ringing some changes and playing around with it! (…watch this space!)

Rough Cut
Definitely a "blending" tobacco, smooth but an awfully rough cut, I could do as well with a tobacco leaf, cutting board and a sharp knife. I like it better than most USA tobaccos but it isnt the best Turkish (or even Oriental) tobacco Ive smoked. Even when dried out it doesnt stay lit very well. I sound critical but it is a decent smoke, just have had better Turkish. YMMV!

Good blender
If you want to add a Turkish touch to your Virginia tobacco, try this. Use about 10%. Don't overdo it.

Good Quality Turkish
I've used this tobacco in several of my blends, ranging from English to Balkan and recently I added it to a VaPer blend. This Turkish has a spicy, herbal, floral element to it that really makes any blend that it's added to more interesting. I highly recommend it.

Nice Honey like flavor
Excellent for blending, but go easy as it will dry out your mouth

Mixed a little bit with Westminster
Not being able to obtain Abingdon (one of my top 3 favorite tobaccos), I decided to add a little bit of this to my Westminster, to see if I could get something at least close to Abingdon (to keep me until Abingdon is available again). And while it's not perfect, it does lean towards Abingdon, so I'm quite happy with it. But as the other raters have already stated, a little bit goes a long way.

A Turkish Virginia-burley blend?
The bag note reveals this blend to be primarily burley and Virginia, which is confirmed upon smoking it. If you want a mild, sour-flavored Va/bur, you may enjoy this "Turkish" selection. If you want a Turkish/oriental leaf for creating your own mixture, this is not the blend you are looking for.

Cure All
For my pallet, a dash of Latakia added to any blend thats middle of the road will liven up the existing flavors with a smooth and smoky backdrop to exemplify the contrast. A must have for Lat fans looking to enjoy some alternate varieties.

EXCELLENT BLENDING TOBACCO.

Important Component
Important Component in several blends so far. Interesting straight. I favor a smaller to moderate percentage. Great with Cigar Leaf & Latakia.

Outstanding.
Excellent blender, only needed a small amount to greatly improve the taste and aroma of a Burley/Virginia/ Latakia blend.
