I purchased this sampler when I purchased my first pipe at the suggestion of my father; my grandfather was a pipe-smoker and his preferred brand was Borkum Riff. To this day, Borkum Riff is one of my favorite brands, and usually my go-to if I'm not trying something new. This is quite a bit of tobacco, so you may want to purchase a pouch or two on its own. Highly recommended.

All of them smoke smooth and cool. None of them is exactly to my taste. However, many may find one or two in the collection they would enjoy.
I really miss Borkum Riff Honey and Orange. That was perfect for me. I'm sorry they no longer offer it.

I haven't smoked a pipe in several years but when I decided to some back to it I purchased the Borkum Riff sampler because I remembered it as a great product before and thought it might be again. Still is a great tobacco product.

How dry I am???

Seemed that the tobacco was very dry, the "old stuff" in the humidor was in better shape. After a few days in the humidor it recoved, but the first bowl burned almost like paper. The Erik the Red was in great shape, moist and mild, smokes great with a fine bouquet and nice room notes.

A Great Place to Start For Anyone New To Pipe Smoking

I bought this sampler because I am new to pipe smoking, after 30 years of cigarettes, and figured this would give me a good variety of flavors to figure out what I would end up liking the most. This is certainly a good choice for the newbie and at a good price as well. So far, I really enjoy the Cherry Cavendish and am not quite as fond of the Bourbon Whiskey; although I thought I would be. I still have three more to try. All in all I would have to say that this was a good place to start and would suggest it to anyone new to pipe smoking.

I've smoked Borkum Riff Light tobacco for years. I buy the sampler, because it's cheapest and buy enough that you pay the freight. If you ever get the light tobacco, please let me know.

This is probably the best way to go if your new to pipe smoking. I bought this sampler, not because I'm new to pipe smoking, but due to the price. If you have a limited budget, this is the best way to get a good tobacco. I find that my favorites of the group are the black Cavendish and the cherry liquor, though I must say all the borkum riff flavors in this sampler taste and smoke well.
