1m over 1q 100% for a Lat based English smoker.
I've only smoked we bowls of the I-q to the entire 3 oz bag of 1m.. not to brag, but I'm an English smoker, prefer lat bombs or VA/but.. both of these aromatics we're very enjoyable... I will most definitely be buying the 1m in bulk for a daily rotation..

Sutliff for the win
Sutliff should win imho

two very solid blends
both where fantastic my wife enjoyed the smell of the vanilla and i very much enjoyed the Q1.

Lane 1-Q the winner
Lane 1-Q is the winner in my book. Nice smoke to add to my rotation. The Sutliff 1M was OK but a little too subtle and milder than hoped for, BTW, my wife likes Lane 1Q as her, "favorite so far".

Try mixing them!
I thought the Lane was better than the Sutlif however I found that if you mixed the two together 50\50 that it was much sweeter and burned cooler.

Sutliff for the win
Two big brand names in tobacco and two big name tobacco selections at a very reasonable price! Thank you P&C! My favorite was the Sutliff 1M Vanilla and heres with a tobacco layman description. It’s GREAT! The Lane is OK. Reason why? The Sutliff has more flavor, smells better to me while smoking it and just to me beats 1Q hands down

Round 1 knockout battle 6oz sampler, only received 4oz.
The lane 1-Q burns cool, little to no bite and the room note got a few compliments. The sutliff 1-M vanilla I have not tried because sadly I only received 1oz when I was supposed to receive 3oz and and customer service has not responded!!!

Great sampler - Can’t go wrong
Great vanilla sampler! I am going to have to go with 1M by Sutliff as my favorite, the Lane 1Q is good, but I find the sweetness more pronounced in the 1M and that enhances the Vanilla overall. Really enjoyed this sampler, and the price makes you the winner no matter which one you end up picking.

Highly Recommend
Was an ok smoke. I still enjoy the Lane 1Q over anything I have purchased here so far. Wasn't as good of a room filler with the smell as the Lane, but it still had a good taste.

My opinion/vote: Sutliff 1M Vanilla over the Lane Limited 1-Q any day!
Just got these two today and the Tom Sawyer straight and the Short Stop straight Missouri Meerschaums. First things first...I have to admit I'm not big on 'aromatics'. I like English and American smokes without any weird added stuff to the tobacco, but my grandpa used to smke an aromatic so I figure I should try one at least. I tested the Lane 1Q in the Tom Sawyer, breaking the pipe in. It was a good smoke, but pretty subtle. To be honest I don't understand the hype of this Lane 1Q by quite a few smokers, but then maybe I just don't have the finesse to taste things as well...it's a distinct possibility. The tobacco was relatively cool and stayed lit well once one got past the first several puffs getting it started. I imagine it left a pleasant room note (I live alone, so have no one to say anything about it) since it did seem to smell good on the exhale and the wisps that came from the pipe itself once in a while. It'd be a decent tobacco for a novice to start with. I broke the Short Stop in with the Sutliff 1M Vanilla. Now *THIS* impressed me! It was a very pleasant flavor from the first puff. Didn't burn and smoke like wood at the beginning just getting it started and first few puffs in to the pipe. It literally tasted good from the first puff. It's there, but not a 'in your face' strong flavor, but you'd have to be without a tongue to not enjoy this tobacco. The sweetness alone will get one hooked and wanting to smoke it all day long, and I can't think of a reason why that would be a Bad Thing in any way. The room aroma alone I am betting would not make even a staunch anti-smoker whine too much! I will be buying quite a bit more of this Sutliff 1M Vanilla. I may be dirt poor and this is my only habit, but now that I know there's an aromatic I actually enjoy, it'll be worth it. My MM Short Stop is very happy to have been broke in with this too!

Round 1 Knockout Battle
I did enjoy both

Winner decided
Both are good, but I definitely prefer the Sutliff 1M. Simply a better, more flavorful smoke. The Lane 1Q is good, but smokes much dryer than I prefer.

I loved smoking and comparing both blends
I loved both blends. If you want to have a chance to sample some good blends then I suggest this!

Lane 1-Q Preferred
Both are great tobaccos, but my PERSONAL favorite is the Lane 1-Q. The vanilla just didn't light my fire (pun intended). I also participated in the Lane Very Cherry/Stokkebye #3 Cherry trial. While some might consider this heretical, I've found that mixing 2 parts of Lane 1-Q with 1 part Lane Very Cherry results in a nice, very soft everyday smoker with a nice room note. Not overpowering, just pleasant.

New but honest.
I received this for Christmas. I enjoyed both tobaccos. They were smooth and flavorful with no bite. I do recommend allowing them both to dry as they were a tad moist when received. If I had to choose although I would choose the lane 1 q. Just a smoother smoke for a newer pipe smoker like me.

Yummy
Yummy, will look for this again.

Perfect Introduction!
Perfect way to try these two tobacco's. They're both outstanding, and which I prefer depends entirely on the mood I'm in. As others have said, the Lane is VERY mild, and for that reason my vote goes in that direction. It may well become my daily smoker.

1-Q vs. 1M
Lane 1-Q won in the 3rd Round! Both very very good, Cool smokes, mellow sweetness. The Lane just seemed to have a bit more depth. Kinda new to pipes again these deals are a great opportunity to try different tobaccos.

Do not stop trying!
Easy to smoke, light well, slow burning, subtle and harmonious aroma, good mix.

Low I-Q
I-Q had enuff sticks in it to light a campfire! ....so I'll have to go with 1M

Need more.
Nice tobacco.

Lane wins by decision 10 - 9
To my tastes the Lane 1-Q beats the Sutliff on points, but not a knockout. Neither is as good as Captain Black Dark or Stanwell Vanilla, but the Lane could be a staple should budget constraints dictate one day.

Pipe Tobacco
Lane 1-Q was good, but not crazy about Sutliff 1M.

Nice
Good taste, great for morning smoke and watching the sun come up.

We have a draw
This battle was a draw... sort of. My hubby really enjoys the 1-Q and it is now his go to choice. I prefer the aroma of the 1M Vanilla when I'm relaxing with him.

Two winners
Two really good vanilla flavored tobaccos and a nice change from the from my local pipe and cigar store blend. The bag aroma and room note were great for both of them; however the 1Q became my favorite of them.

Two winners
I was pleasantly surprised when I got these in the mail, both had a great aroma from the pouch. They both smoked well with no bite and the vanilla flavor was great. It's hard to choose since they were both great and will be in my favorites, but I'm leaning more towards the Lane 1Q being the leader as they are both winners. Thank you P&C for the great service and short delivery time.
