Too subtle for me
The peach flavor here is very very subtle and in the background for me. It was okay in all aspects, including aroma and room note, smoke, and flavor, but nothing that stood out enough for me to be a dedicated fan. For my tastes and wallet, there are other better options. It isn't horrible, it just didn't meet my expectations.

Good Tobacco Selections on P&C!
Already writing a five star review because there are several reasons a few is cool I am related to two Confederate generals Robert E Lee and another Confederate general, my wife is from Gettysburg, PA and her mother is living there and lives in a Civil War Era mansion so yeah Gettysburg is the choice tobacco for me and I am looking forward to ordering some Black Brigadier Gettysburg due to the history and the taste I am wanting to try! 👍

Bought all 6 flavors, they smoke fairly mild but the flavor and room note is not as strong as I was hoping for. It is hard to tell the peach, cherry and vanilla apart. Quality is okay, just not what I was looking for.

This is my go to
This is my go to daily tobacco. I smoked a peach blend for years and this has a nice subtle peach flavor. It smokes mild and has a good room note. Highly recommend giving it a try.

I have not tried a Brigadier Black blend yet that I didn't like! High quality tobacco at great prices!

Nice smoke
I tried tied the 5 pouch sampler of Brigadier Black and found all 5 blends quite impressive. Mild flavors with no bite. Just the right moisture content and while the flavor was consistently good, none of the 5 blends jumped out and made me say WOW. Overall...a very nice tobacco.

Let it air dry for 8 hours burns better
My 2ed can I love this one . I’m a all day and most of the night , I don’t sleep much so I’m up smoking . It’s a great smoke burns great . I lay some out to just air dry . For about 8 hours . I find it burns a lot better and the tast stays the same. A wet tobacco send hard to drow on in my pipe so dryer is a perfect way to smoke it.

Decent room notes
The taste for me was a little heavy. Not terrible, but not great either. Letting it age for a bit, it may settle down after a few months. Right out of the pouch it wouldn’t be my all day smoke, but I would give it a go once in a while. Decent room note, no bite, smoked in a Rossi poker.

Wonderful mild smoke with slightly sweet notes. Great lingering aroma for others to enjoy. Little to no bite. Using this blend to break in a new pipe!

Favorite aro yet!
First impression was that the other reviews were right, this is a moist blend, but boy does it smell great! Like most, I started out smoking aromatics, but have really started to migrate towards other blends, vapers, Virginia/burleys, and English. This blend has rejuvenated my appreciation for aromatics. Right off the bat, I pulled a couple bowls out and let sit overnight, and it burned perfectly. Next time around, I left them out for a couple hours with the same result (I’m in AZ, pretty dry air). With a little drying time, this burns great, without a hint of tongue bite (and I tend to smoke on the hot side), great flavor, and arguably better room note. Probably my new favorite aro blend, can’t wait to try other Brigadier blends!

A Bit Too Goopy for Me
While I love the tin note, and enjoy the taste, BOY IS THIS STUFF GOOPY. Seems to take several lights more than two to get it lit so it stays lit. Even with having left the tin open for hours while I'm working nearby several different days (after shaking it up before opening to get a different layer on top), it refused to become even slightly dryer.

Great smoke
I've been on a civil war kick so I had to try this out. I'm not a peach fan but this is a very good mixture and great aroma the peach flavor is just right not over powering. Yes it's a little moist as others noted but I use clay filter stones and that helps alot. I only wish pipes and cigars would carry those filter stones then it would be a one stop shop. Anyway I can't wait to try out other flavors in this line.

Into the Peach Orchard, boys!
I must admit, I wasn't sure about the "hint of peach" in the description. I prefer English blends and am not a big fan of fruit flavored tobacco. But, being a history nerd, and it being near the anniversary of Gettysburg, I thought would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it was moist, but still smoked smoothly and without bite. Silky is an apt description. The peach was not overpowering. A great smoke on a summer evening.

Fan Of The South
I am a huge and most interested in Civil War history. I love the confederate soldiers and a big fan of the southern states such as Texas and Louisiana. My favorite battle of Civil War is Gettysburg since it was one of the most brutal conflict of the Civil War. I will definitely be more than happy to buy this and try it.

Moist....but Good
My tobacco arrived extremely moist. I placed it loosely on my drying pan for almost 72 hours (at approx 70°F/55% RH). The outcome was a pleasing smoke without bite. The moisture isn't a problem for me...its part of my hobby routine on some tabaccos. Will buy it again.

I really liked this. The taste was sweet and excellent. I liked it so much I went through the pouch pretty quickly. I'm a hard puffer, but this was easy on the tongue.

this is a good tobacco to smoke around a crowd as the room notes are pleasant and it is a nice cool smoke.

Great flavor
I've been wanting to try Gettysburg for a while but I was reluctant since it only comes in the 8oz. canister. I didn't want to be stuck with several ounces if I didn't like it. I decided to go ahead and order it anyway and I'm glad I did.TheI peach flavor is nice and it lasts all the way to the end of the bowl. The aroma in the tin and the room note is very nice. I plan to order more in the future.

Possibly the king of aro's
I'm not even a peach fan but this is absolutely delicious smoking stuff. It was fairly moist so I aired out a big handful overnight, then mixed back with the remaining tobacco. What began as a "meh, I'll give it a shot" turned into the tobacco I go to above all others. If you want a smooth, easy smoking tobacco with big sweet flavors, this stuff should be on your short list. Shenandoa Appalachian Berry is also very good, as is Scotty's Bass Pond. This stuff just burns a little more evenly and is easier to light and keep lit. If I were limited to only one, a deserted island scenario, this would be it.

Not What I Expected
The after taste of the Peach was not good. I will not buy again. My favorite so far of the Brigadier Black blends is the Waterloo. That is my everyday smoke.

All the Brigadier Tobaccos are good and Gettysburg is my favorite.
I love peaches and this delivered. Great smooth smoke with no bite. Aroma is very pleasant.

Delicious!
I purchased Brigadier Black Gettysburg because I have a great interest in the Civil War, particularly the Battle of Gettysburg. I was not disappointed. If one can say a tobacco is delicious, then this is the one! The aroma of peach upon opening the can makes your mouth water. As for smoking, it is incredibly smooth with a rich flavor and aroma. As I smoke, I imagine being in the Peach Orchard at Gettysburg watching the valiant charge of Barksdale's Mississippians as they smashed through the Union line on the 2nd day of the most momentous battle of the Civil War. This is a very good tobacco. Can't wait to try the other blends!!

It's a Peach!
Hands down my favorite peach aro. I love this stuff! The moisture is just right. Lights fairly easy and burns all the way to the bottom of the bowl. Absolutely no bite, and I sometimes puff like a freight train when I'm working. Will definitely be ordering more.

Peachy!
This is an excellent every day smoke, light and delightful with just a hint of peachiness (I assume it got it's name from the Peach Orchard at Gettysburg). Burleys and Virginias are presented in a gold and brown ribbon cut. There is no tongue burn and the casing is very light and flavorful. I highly recommend this, a relaxing smoke you won't tire of. If only it came in 16 oz. tins!

Gettysburg is my kind of stuff!!
It's smooth and burns well in all my pipes. I especially like it in my corn cobs. It doesn't give me heartburn like the Waterloo did.

Yuk
Did not care for this blend when lit I got almost a burnt hair flavor and aroma that lessoned as I smoked the bowl down but never really left. Let age for a couple of weeks and got the same burnt hair. Maybe I got a bad tin but what I got was not a pleasant smoke

The peach flavor was too strong and I didn't care for it.
I didn't care for the peach flavor. The quality of the tobacco and storage were very good though. I gave some to a fellow pipe smoking friend and he didn't care for it either.

Eat a Peach
Perhaps The Alman Brothers would have titled their album Smoke a Peach had this blend been around back then. Been curious about these Brigadier blends for some time and this was my first one. Pronounced peachy aroma in the tin which carries over to a pipeful. For me it's an "in the mood" smoke as the aroma/flavor is truly distinct. Smokes cool and burns down to a fine ash. Very moist but have no problems keeping it lit. Will try another Brigadier blend but for me this one is a bit too unique to smoke all the time. Glad I tried it though.

Tasty but Wet
Really love the aroma and flavor of this blend. However, I had to give it four stars because the tobacco is very wet. Even after letting it dry for awhile, it still takes several false lights to get it really going.

Fell in Love
My father had me try this a week ago. I absolutely loved it. The aroma was very pleasant and it burned nicely. I will definitely be purchasing a tin of my own. I do wish, like many others that I've seen comment, that this was sold in bulk.

Super aromatic and immensly enjoyable!
I only occasionally smoke my pipe and this is great in it! I regularly RYO and add this to my mix, and this is my favorite aromatic addition. The added flavor is quite relaxing and delightful, and my family actually enjoys the room note. The only thing I wish, like others, is this to be sold in bulk. It is truly a pleasure to smoke.

Delicious flavor and extremely pleasant aroma. I love this tobacco!
If you want to occasionally satisfy your sweet tooth, or just relax and imagine yourself relaxing on the veranda of a Southern plantation, this tobacco is the answer. Not only does it smoke great and taste delicious, the aroma of peaches and all the pleasant memories it conjures will take you to another time and make you forget your troubles for awhile. I love this tobacco!

A good, mild smoking tobacco
Mild tasting, no bite and a good room aroma, but over-cased with peach flavoring which overwhelms the good characteristics of this blend.

Customer Testimonials
I'm sorry Russ, I did not like this one. I purchased it for the Peach, cause being an old Cowboy and Cowboy Stuntman, Peaches are a big treat. We always had a can on hand and couldn't wait for that aroma. Well, Gettysburg has an over the top, completely overbearing, catch in the back of the throat, sickening sweet, fake Peach Candy taste. It smells good in the tin but after that it fails by comparison to Sherman's March a very well balanced blend. Maybe if you backed way way off on the Peach topping and gave it that hint, similar to Peach Nasal Snuff it might be one I would try again but as is, no thanks.
JG of Peoria, AZ
I think I will now change to Brigadier Black's Gettysburg as my new favorite and replace my old favorite, which was John Rolfe Alterative. Regards, Oiva from Harbor Oregon
OW of Harbor, OR
On opening the tin, the peach flavor is a little overpowering, almost to the point of turning you off. It is a little wet, so I would advise letting it sit out for a little before lighting. After about 5 minutes of smoking, there is an amazing flavor. Not over powering at all. It is a very pleasant smoke, and actually surprised me how good it was considering the price. Room note is good, very light/fruit aroma

If your an aromatic smoker your going to love this blend
JP of NEPTUNE, NJ
Tin note is a heavy, candied peach scent. Not unpleasantly sweet, but not quite what a fresh peach would smell like. A dry pull of the pipe after packing gave a really pleasant peach taste. I'm a Frank Method advocate, and after packing this tobacco took 5-6 charring lights before it started to burn on its own. Once burning, though.. wow. A slow, even cadence with this tobacco gave me loads of nutty, peachy, honey-sweet smoke. I didn't push this tobacco, but even on the few relights I didn't detect any tingle of a promised tongue bite. Another reviewer mentioned that the room note is like a baked peach pie, and that's exactly right. Peach pie, or a spiced peach cobbler. Delicious stuff.
SS of The Colony, TX
On a seemingly never ending search for a fruity aromatic tobacco that doesn't bite like a pit bull I ran across Brigadier Black Gettysburg. I found what I was looking for, upon opening the tin, I was met with a pleasant, but not overbearing peach scent. Once lit, it required minimal relights, and filled the room with a mild peach scent. The flavoring did not completely over take the tobacco as seems to happen with this blends and I notice very little bite.
BB of Valley Center, KS
There are only a few things that I expect from an aromatic. I want it to taste good and different from anything else. With Gettysburg, I get that and more. It is a unique flavor that I really like. I'm working this into my rotation, and I believe that I will favor this beyond other aromatics.
RM of Frankfort, KY
I finally tried this blend while relaxing on our deck. A beautiful, summer evening - perfect for a peach blend. Even though my Crown Achievement Billiard is not fully broken in, this tobacco smoked cool and was delicious. The peach aroma was not over-powering. It was just right! The blend reminds me of Sutliff Private Stock Taste of Summer.
JW of Jackson, MI
The description says "subtle peach undertone", but it is far from subtle. It has a powerful peach tin note, but it doesn't taste very good to me. It left an unpleasant after-taste and coating in my mouth after smoking it. This one is definitely not for me and now I'm stuck with 8 oz of it. LOL
BW of Pomona, CA
the peach note is very strong but the flavor is mild, found mixing it with super value black made a very satisfying economical smoke I do all day with no bite. I am retired so I do mean all day.
DT of Sparta, WI
Honestly I cannot add anything that previous reviewers haven't said. If you like aromatics, this is pretty incredible stuff. Almost no bite, and the wonderful smell of peaches. It is pretty moist out of the can so I tend to let it dry a bit. Once I do that it stays lit and is just amazing to smoke. You will definitely enjoy this smoke.
LR of Sherrard, IL
I owned a pipe for a couple years without really enjoying it much until a friend gave me a sample of this. It's a great smoke with subtle flavor; I've since tried some Cavendish aromatics and not liked their sickly sweet aroma (personal preference), but this was perfect for sitting on the porch talking on a chilly evening.
DB of Pampa, TX
I really like this tobacco! Has a aroma of fresh, ripe peach! There is no bite and to me is very mild! I enjoy this in the evening for a nice relaxing smoke. No complaints from family or friends when smoking! Leaves the room smelling of a fresh baked peach pie. Will keep a tin of this on hand!
JK of San Bernardino, CA
I tried the Waterloo first and found it to have a little bit too much bite for me, I then ordered the Gettysburg and found it to be very good. It packs well, stays lit, burns clear to the bottom of the bowl, the aroma is awesome and the taste is exceptional and very sweet, just the way I like it. I will be ordering this blend quite often and I will be trying the Alamo and the Bull Run also. The Gettysburg is a definite keeper!
