CAO Black is far from a typical aromatic. The tobacco has a full, zesty raspberry essence, with a gentle sub-note of silky vanilla and warm cocoa, giving it a smooth, sweet flavor. And if you tend to puff hard or fast, you're going to love this blend as it one of the coolest smokes you're likely to try. For a blend that won't bite, with a great aroma, you've got to try CAO Black.
Cao Black is a fruity desert tobacco. After having a half-tin, here are my notes: No tongue bite. Mellow, girlfriend-approved room note. For me, the tin note smelled too strong of raspberries. This will prevent me from buying Cao Black again, although those who like cherry-type tobaccos may find the fruity note pleasurable. My tin needed to be dried for a full day. The smoke was surprisingly more pleasant than the tin note, as the raspberry aroma, while noticeable, wasn't overpowering and eventually gave way to a cocoa flavor. What I liked best about the blend was that it burned cooler than I expected. The nicotine buzz was also nice and mild. I had anxiety the fruity notes would stain my bowl, but thus far, this hasn't happened. Pipe Used: Peterson Kinsale Age When Smoked: Fresh tin dried for a full day.
This is by far my favorite pipe tobacco. I have others tobaccos, but always look forward to opening a new tin of CAO BLACK! mmmmm!
Great tobacco period.
At first I thought this was going to have a strong chemical taste with how wet it was. However it wasn't cool and dry smoke and well worth the money. And my wife loves the aroma asking if I was baking. Great all around smoke hands down my favorite blend.
I was disappointed with this blend. It was really wet even after drying over night. As far as aros go, the flavor was poor and the burn quality was poor. I will not be ordering this ever again.
Was a little moist for my liking and if it wouldn't have said chocolate on the label, I wouldn't have known it was there.
Very nice and I'm glad I tried it, but for a fruit tasting smoke I'll stick with H&H Berry Nice.
Really smooth and flavorful with no bite. For me the raspberry only lasted to about the half bowl mark and then settled to a nice soft cocoa till the end. I will definitely keep some of this on hand.
Every once in a while I satisfy my sweet tooth with tobacco. This one fits the bill. The tin note is amazing, mine was not overly moist as others have noted. It burned well with minimal relights - none until I neared the bottom of the bowl. The room note got the "wife seal of approval." On the downside, I wish it had a little more tobacco taste to it and a little more kick. No matter how hard I pushed IT DID NOT BITE. Overall - not a bad smoke
Out of all the CAO blends I have tried that are on here (I have tried them all) this is by far my fave. Great smoke and tastes amazing!
This CAO Black pipe tobacco smokes very well. It has a smooth mellowness to it that is complemented by a sweet aroma that lingers in the room. Love it and will recommend.
Wonderful raspberry/chocolate tin note. Tastes good. Smooth smoking with no tongue bite.
A wonderfully mellow smoke with only the hint of dark chocolate to the aroma. I most enjoyed it with my church warden. Also goes well with a good single malt scotch.
I must say that this is my new favorite! I was a little worried when I first opened the tin because it seemed a little wet. But after the initial lighting, it stayed lit the whole way down. It has a wonderful room note and great taste with notes of cocoa and coconut. Plus, Pipes and Cigars quick shipping makes it even better. I am sitting here smoking this after only 3 days after ordering. Way to go guys (and gals)!
When I first opened it I was worried it was going smoke wet as it was a little moist in the tin, fortunately I was wrong, coolest and driest burning flavored tobacco I have ever smoked and has no bite to speak of. Raspberries and coco are present along with plenty of tobacco taste coming through. Oddly enough it is a very light blend that produces a lot of thick smoke and doesn't leave you with a artificial or bad lingering taste. Great for new smokers or someone that wants a high quality flavored smoke.
CAO Black is a very Smooth and quiet nice Aromatic , Has hints of Coco and Raspberry and is very pleasant. A great Everyday Smoke and very Smooth on the Palate. Has no bite and The flavor remains constant throughout the entire time. A real Crowd Pleaser very Good and for those new to Aromatics or looking for a Change from English's this is the One. Can't get enough of this , you will find yourself smoking it on a regular basis . Worth the money and as they say ~GOOD TO THE LAST DROP~
