Welcome the newest member of the Captain Black family - Captain Black Copper. This smooth, bite-free blend of rich, nutty Burley, Lane's renowned black Cavendish and some bright flake-cut Virginia is finished with a warm top-note that delivers a mellow sweetness and an aroma that everyone will love. This will quickly become a big favorite! Be prepared for a comforting smoke that you can enjoy all day with Captain Black Copper.
Captain Black bulk tobacco was recently discontinued from the manufacturer and will now be sold exclusively in the packaged cans and pouches.
Captain Black Copper is altogether pleasing to senses of sight, smell, touch, and taste. Upon opening the tin, the excellent quality of the tobaccos is obvious. The aroma in the tin is that of liquor, vanilla, and something else that reminds me of holiday confections such as pumpkin bread. Upon lighting, the taste is clean and carries over much from the tin aroma. The burleys provide very mild chocolate undertones and the taste reminds me of good quality black tea. Sweetness is provided by the bright Virginia. The room note is pleasant, the tobacco burns well, and keeping it lit throughout the bowl doesn't demand a great deal of attention. "Copper" produces no goopy dottle. This is my favorite of the Captain Black series. I would recommend it to any aromatic lover who desires a more natural smoke.
Hadn't smoked any CB blends in years. I ordered a pouch of this and will be ordering more. Wonderful pouch and room aroma! A mild bite free smoke.
This blend is everything it promises to be. This may become my daily bread and butter smoke. The room note is excellent and the flavor is great. Smoked a bowl fresh out of the pouch and it was great from the start.
CB Copper is a keeper. I prefer Carter Hall to the CB blends, but Copper is the exception. Smokes good, flavors stay mostly though out the bowl. Room note is good. Doesn't wet the bowl as bad like the other CB blends. I didn't notice the chemical taste as I do with the other CBs, that's one of the reasons I don't smoke them. I might have to keep some of this one around for a change of pace. I have tried all the CBs and this one is the best of the lot.
I've not been a Captain Black fan. I ordered a pouch of Copper and was greeted by a very nice aroma, smoked some in a MM and right off the git go I was likein it! Good tobacco flavor which many aro's don't have and it has the room note an aro should have. Where's a Copper when you need one? In yer pipe mate!
I really enjoyed this smoke, smooth with no bite. I must say, this is my second favorite (close first) CB blend. Definitely going to buy more!
I've been smoking Capt. Black for close to 50 years and ive been mixing burly in it at a rate of 60-40 now I don't have to. Copper is the best I've tried in many years and as soon as I smoke my remaining Capt Black white I'll be buying Copper for sure.
The description of this blend on this page mirrored my pleasure in smoking CB Copper. Tasty smoke from top of the bowl to the medium to strong finish. And a room note sure to please is always a plus!
Capt Black Copper is very different than any other Capt Black blends. Much more tobacco flavor which is good. Room aroma was good as well as taste a nice change from some of the more heavily flavored blends.
IMHO, this may be the best offering from Captain Black to date. Really mellow, delicious without any cloying sweetness, NEVER a gurgle, not a trace of bite. An outstanding OTC blend!
Great flavor.Great room note. No tongue bite. Wife approved. Enough said.
I found out about this new Captain Black in the latest P&C catalog. Being a CB fan (of most of their blends) I had to order this one. It has a good aroma and taste with no bite. The best way I can describe this blend is it falls somewhere between Lane LL-7 and Sutliff Metropolitain. Its very similar to both. Well, the Captain has brought us another winner. I think I'm going to keep this one in my regular rotation. If you are an aromatic fan give this one a try!
Just opened and smoked the new Captain Black Copper. Amazing smoke. Cool on the tongue, great aroma and taste, seems to burn cool, stays lit well. Wife loves this one. The nutty Burley, Black Cavendish, and Sweet Virginia makes an awesome mix. This could my new Favorite.
This stuff is unlike any other captain blend I've had. You can actually taste the bright Virginia. It is a very good smoke of you're looking for a medium strength aromatic. I will certainly be buying more.
