Honey raisin fig notes
Smells amazing. The best way to prepare is take the plug place on a cutting board and use a very sharp knife to cut flakes. From there you can rub it into ribbon or cut it into little cubes and just drop those cubes into the bowl pack very lightly and enjoy.

Downwind
The biggest challenge with a plug tobacco is the preparation. What I do is to peel the leaf-like flakes from the plug. I then pull them apart and load the pipe. I sometimes will even use a scissors to make a finer cut. It does take several relights for me to get the tobacco burning nicely. And earlier reviewer suggested drying out the tobacco for an hour before smoking, and I think that's an excellent idea. Once I get the pipe going the blend is a rich and mellow. The description says a top note has been applied to add some aroma. It is very subtle. If you are looking for a tasty, straightforward smoke and do not mind the extra work, this is a good choice.

Tin note is big n
Tin note is big n bready, dark fruits. There is a hint of spirits like a fresh baked fig newton with a glass of spiced mead. Nic hits rather hard for a newer pipe smoker like myself. It' robust -fitting for my figural rhino head pipe, Glad I didn't take myself to Cascadia's "Vertical Limit" blend. It's tastes spicier than the tin note lets on and unlike any other aromatics I've had. (I say this as a man who loves GL Pease Odyssey)

tart and tangy citrus, grass,
tart and tangy citrus, grass, earth, wood, bread, some tangy dark fruit, sugar, vegetation, mild floralness, a pinch or spice, and a touch of acidity. There’s a very mild fruity topping that is hard to discern that moderately sublimates the tobaccos Burns clean, cool, and slow with a very consistent fruity, nutty, mildly sugary and floral flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note is a little stronger than the after taste. Leaves little dampness in the bowl. Requires a few more than an average number of relights. Not an all day smoke

An Excellent Plug
I love this stuff. I purchased one tin of each offering and being a seasoned plug smoker was very pleasantly surprised. This is a genuine steam pressed threshed leaf tobacco plug. The presentation is good, the topping is well balanced and the prep work is what you expect with a traditional plug. Well worth stocking up on.

Nice Burley/Virginia blend
Tin note is dried fruit, figgy, sweet, hints of dark chocolate. Plug is very moist and heavily pressed. Cut a slice and let dry for the morning before cubing into a Missouri meerschaum cob. Smoke i sweet and spicy with hints of dried fruit, definitely burley based with the Virgina peaking through here and there, little bite if worked fast. Room note is tolerable
