No matter where I am
No matter where I am - on the back porch, in my man-cave or on the trail. Always makes me feel like I am on a long weekend in the woods. And it's fun to flake, curl & crumble. I only wish they made a smaller tin that was easier to pack for this single block.

I really like this tobacco!
I really like this tobacco! Wish they sold it in larger quantities! Always wanted to try plug and got this in a sampler. Smokes decently. Balanced and slightly on the dried-fruit/figgy smelling side of tobaccos. Mild, slightly sweet, very good.

Pleasant Surprise
Popping the tin gives off an aroma of apricots. Like actual dried apricots. Delightful. Notes of hay, fermentation, wood, and very tart citrus. It’s wonderful. Smells almost aromatic but it’s not don’t worry. Pulling back the ruffled paper and removing the paper disk I was met with…. a plug. Not a cake… but an actual plug. Not the tightest plug but most certainly a plug worthy to be cut with a knife. Which I most certainly did as I was camping. God damn I felt like a man. Tobacco is moist, almost sticky, no dry time I just packed it. It smoked just fine the way it was. First puffs are lots of tart citrus tang. I suspect the apricot topping helps with it. The burley’s are very prominent. I hate burley tobacco as it bites however this did not. The sweet grassy lemony tangy fermented hay Virginias are neck and neck with the woody earthy nutty burley tobaccos. This is not at all an aromatic sweet or flavored sort of tobacco. I didn’t get that at all. The topping is noticeable but its flavor is seamless with the tobacco and is not obnoxious. The toppings compliments this well adding some tart citrus fruit and retarding the harshness. Lots of fermentation here. Decent body, it’s rather full and stout at times. As the bowl progresses I maybe get some DFK but not in a smoky way. Rather a dark sweetness like HH ODF has. This tobacco gets sweeter as the bowl progresses. It’s rather rich and complex. Definitely not an all day smoke. This burned cool and slow and on a hike this stayed lite well, smoked slow, and did not get harsh towards the bottom.. I’m a nicotine light weight and this was strong by my standards. I was really surprised by this. It was mighty fine. Even at the full price if you get it on sale I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it. Non smoker I was with said that this was very mild and non offensive. Did not detect any fruit aroma.

Smells strong when you open
Smells strong when you open that tin but does smoke really well. Not overwhelming flavor but a good balance. I would buy this mix again!

Cascadia Trail Head Tobacco
Aromatic pipe tobacco at its best. Excellent black cavendish flavor.

Light it and light again and again and again. Well, you get the problem.
Packed as tightly as their Campsite tobacco. This one I had to slice up with a knife and cutting board. It still is a difficult and moist smoke. Even after cutting and rubbing it out, there are still solid moist chunks which require constant relighting. I’ve been smoking a pipe from well over 50 years and have never had to relight so frequently. Yes, the tobacco is quite tasty but there’s just too much work for me to ever reorder.

Let this dry a bit
A very subtle hint of cocoa/hay/Greene tea? Smokes cool just not very flavorful. Not terrible, not great. Though, I smoked this immediately after cutting. Definitely revisiting after letting this dry out for an hour or so as it comes pretty moist.
