Comoy's Cask 7 (Tin & Bulk)

Comoy's Cask #7 is a spun-cut blend of tangy Virginias, sweet and spicy Perique, with a core of unflavored black Cavendish to mellow the blend. The tobacco is cut into coins for flexible preparation, and the style of tobacco helps to marry and mature the blend; a great Va/Per for those times you prefer something a bit more subtle.

A Sublime Tobacco
These coins are all about the Virginia and Cavendish, both of high quality. The Perique is there as a subtle binder. A sweet, smokey blend without a hint of bite.

A Wonderful Compromise
What if you love McClelland No. 2015 Virginia/Perique flake but it's a bit too strong for the occasion? Or maybe, you love Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake but desire something with a bit more punch from time to time? Comoy's Cask No. 7 solves the problem! I cellar all three, by the way.....

flavorful but gentle
One of my favorites now. It was on sale before in the tin, and I bought some. Wow, I liked it. Then, after it was available in bulk, I bought more twice. Truly one of the best, with a full tobacco flavor, but lacking the bite that some others have. Well worth the money. Usually I smoke vanilla or fruity flavored blends, but this is a delightful exception.

Surprisingly Good
I wasn't expecting much, I liked the price. I picked up a few VA/Pers from P&C, a few american blends and were disappointed at the vinegar/ketchup smell. Cask 7 reminds me more of Luxury Bullseye flake which is high in my rotation behind Escudo and Dunhills Navy rolls. For some reason I was expecting a topping on this, but I can't detect one. Nice coins, good solid va/per a bit on the mild side.

Long Time Pipe Smoker
Comoy's Cask 7 was not the smoke I was expecting. I can say it had no bite, smoked cool and did not leave your mouth dry or with a after taste.

Yummie!
I'm torn between Cask #4 and #7, I'll be ordering more of both. Drier so easier to light and keep lit and very smooth and tasty, I'd take this over a bowl of ice cream. Oh as usual the dog gives the room note two sneezes and a grumble, one of her better critiques.

A favorite
This is my favorite coin style flake. Let me change that statement; it is my favorite flake so far. I've tried several and this has by far the most flavor of any I have smoked. It is a definite item for restocking in my book. I highly recommend this tobacco.

Very Interesting
Cask #7 is a close comparison (in my opinion) to P.S. bulls-eye the note is a wonderful tangy/sour smell. Almost makes your mouth water, the Cavendish gives it a nice flavor during the smoke too. I prefer it rubbed out over fold-n-stuff though.

Fine, relaxing go-to smoke
I find myself smoking Cask #7 more frequently since I first made its acquaintance a few months ago. An uncomplicated, unassuming and relaxing smoke. No fuss, just an easy smoke with just the right flavor for the time when you don't want to pay too much attention or fuss over your smoke.

Another Comoy winner
I love this tobacco. It has a great taste from start to finish.

Tastey
This was my first attempt at smoking coins. This blend has a very good taste. It was easy to light and stayed lit throughout. It is what i call a "sippin' smoke."

Sweet without being a sugar bomb.
This is some enjoyable stuff. I like it for those times when I clench my pipe while doing other things. The back and forth variation from sweet to grassy reminds me that it's still there when a monochromatic tobacco would just let me get lost in whatever activity I'm engaged in. I only don't give it a 5 because I do need to play with the moisture level a bit before I can get it to burn the way I like. It's a bit damp upon opening.
Customer Testimonials
I love this tobacco! Fun to prepare and truly a joy to smoke! I will always order this as I cant imagine life with out it. This is my favorite daily smoke.
This was my first Non-Aro, and Non-OTC blend-so bear with my review and its possible naivete. Tin (baggie?) note was fantastic, non-chemical subtly sweet and enticing. It is a coin, I tried the fold and stuff for the first time. Got it char, then second lit and really had no trouble after that. Taste was Good. First bowl was a bit harsh and had bite, I was a little disappointed-maybe user error. Second Bowl was much better-First thoughts were Virginia, and smoky but as it took on more of the blend it mellowed and a hint of sweet peeked through. I enjoyed the tobacco taste, and the absence of additives. More "true" of a smoke for me. Overall, again for my initial VaPer I think it was really a solid choice. I will jar the rest of it and smoke it from a briar once I have one and see if it is different. To be honest, I'm not sure my Cob is doing it Justice?

Good stuff. Well balanced blend. The viginias are delicious. Perique makes itself known but does not overpower, and the cavendish adds a nice mild sweetness. Not an overpowering sickly sweetness.
