Cornell & Diehl Bayou Morning Flake

It just reeks of everything good about the south.

It's the best smoke for me. Great flavor and not harsh on your throat.

What a great smoke! Something that I think may improve a great tobacco blend, is to dry it out just a little. It seemed a little too moist to me. Only other wish I have is that it would come in bulk.

A nice sliced flake; sweet tin note. Medium smoke as you'd expect. A more robust flavor, nutty but smooth. Bowl gets better as it smokes down. With a good kick at the end. As a novice pipe smoker, I had to remind myself to go slow, as this is a strong flavored smoke. A bit different than the other Va/Pur's I've smoked, but that's a good thing.

This is the sort of Va/Per blend I've been looking for for quite a while, now. I wanted something fragrant, but not sweet; something flavorful, but didn't leave a heavy aftertaste in my mouth. C&D Bayou Morning Flake qualifies on all counts. Bayou Morning is a good alternative for the pipe smoker who's looking for something other than the usual latakia/Balkan blends. Or, for that matter, for the one who's looking for something a little more robust than the usual vanilla/cherry/Cavendish heavy blends. All in all, a smoke to settle back with while reading a good book, or just sitting on the deck in the evening while the sun goes down.
