Big and burley is my primary blend. Excellent flavor and aroma. Good smoke anytime of day or night.

just what the dr ordered- strong medicine! i went ahead and ordered a pound and this blend is no joke! when sipped slowly, you can appreciate the flavors this blend has to offer. when sipped quickly , is has a cigar kind of taste towards the heel. I would say the strength is full and nice change of pace from my heavy english blends. order up a pound. it can only get better

Sip for flavor and you will find some complexity here. There is a very low semi-sweet quality to the burley, and perhaps a little more from the Turkish. Latakia is just a hint in the background. But the blending is masterful. If you get at it , the flavor becomes kind of cigar-like. It smokes cool and does have a hit. This is not nearly so strong as some pressed or dark fired burley but it is not a joke either. Slow smoking is the key to getting depth and range of flavor. It really grew on me. It is in the Haunted Bookshop genre but I like it better.

This is by far one of my favorite blends. It has a strong nutty natural burley flavor nothing more nothing less. It's also one of the more stronger blends that seems to always be in stock. I will continue to buy it as long as it's available.

If you enjoy Burley blends and haven't tried this, you should. Big n Burley is exactly as C&D describes it. Not as strong as Old Joe Krantz in nicotine, yet the flavors are just as full. Nutty, molasses, salted caramel, cocoa, smokey, sweet, with hints of spice. Very well blended.

This is, Big & Burley and the Perique is definitely present. Retrohale will surely clear the sinuses. B&B hits the spot after a 12hr work day.

Just not for me, still looking for that DH Nightcap equal. Will probably never find it.

Not very much flavor would not buy again

This is pipe tobacco. The strength chart above is quite accurate. Despite the list of condimentals, this is burly first and foremost, with a rich, pure, tobacco flavor that is so smooth you can get ahead of yourself in the nicotine department w/o realizing it, at least that first time. Handle with care, beware, but don't despair, this blend has lots to share.

A great blend - strong and stinky and an all-dayer for the right kind of veteran pipe smoker. This is my main muscle blend since the Tarler kid took “Kelly's Coin” away from us. Just purchased 5 lbs. of this rocket fuel on sale so I'm set for the next 6 months. Caution to all you A-Fibbers out there - this one could really get your ticker scattin' and boppin'.

I tried Cornel & Diehl's Big & Burley on recommendations from the YouTube Pipe Community. It's sorta similar to Haunted Bookshop, but without the Perique. It dones have a high nicotine content; I could only do half a bowl at a time; but the Burley flavor is stand-up. It lights quickly, burns nicely, doesn't have to have many reights, and leaves a decent room odor. I will try it again, but need to build up my nicotine tolerance for full benefit.

Love the stuff! Huge Burley taste! Great when purchased as is, but have read reviews that say aging it improves it tramendously. I plan to age the pound I purchased for 6 months and see what happens.

I love Haunted Bookshop and "Matches" recommended Big n Burley as a nice companion. It is and shall remain in my cellar. If you are into burley tobacco you need to do yourself a favor.

One of my favorites . Good old fashioned strong tobacco the way it should be . Excellent burley taste with just the right amount of condiment tobaccos for a little extra depth of flavor. Smoke it slow and easy for best taste

This is probably the most full-bodied pipe tobacco I've ever tried, and I quite like it! Very spicy and earthy, and reminiscent of a cigar. It has quite the nicotine punch too, so for me this is definitely an after dinner/end of the day kind of tobacco and not something I would choose to start out my day with. I would recommend it to anyone who likes full flavors! I once heard it referred to as a "meal in a bowl," and I would definitely agree with that statement.

Cornell & Diehl Big & Burley No. 103 is not for me. This was my second time trying to like a Latakia blend. Latakia just isn't for me, I guess.

I am in inexperienced smoker and do not have much of a palate for tobacco. With all that in mind, I found this to have spicy earthy notes. It was a bit much for me but I have no doubt a more experienced palate would enjoy it.

I don't normally like English blends or Latakia. The aggressive Perique blends very well with the Latakia that has been tamed by the nutty Burley and tantalizing Turkish. This is a tasty blend. A great intro to English/ Latakia blends.

I like Cornell & Diehl and very strong or large amounts of Latakia. The Burly is there but i can't get my Latakia fix with this.

This is a great quality tobacco, just not for me. I've read so many great reviews about this smoke, but I just could not get into it. Of course it did not help that it made me a little ill.

What can I say? BURLEY, BURLEY, BURLEY! I am a novis pipe smoker as I have been smoking a pipe for almost a year. My main staples have been OTCs such as Half and Half, Carter Hall, Prince Albert, Sir Walter Raleigh and in the beginning Captain Black white and Gold packs. I have recently, in the last month, stuck with Prince Albert which I'll review in the section for that tobacco. I will say however, it is my main go to for otc burley. Big and Burley was my first taste of Cornell and Diehl pipe tobacco. WOW! what an introduction! When I first smelled the strong aroma as I opened the box containing the small 2 oz package, I thought what is this going to be like? How delighted I was! I've constantly searched for the perfect burley as I love burley tobaccos. Prince Albert delivers the goods for otc and an all day blend. However Big and Burley is great for midafternoon and evening smokes. It is pure burley bliss from first light to knocking out the pipe. I smoke it mostly in my MM General and sometimes in my Great Dane. I saw it described on a tobacco review web site "Tobacco Reviews.com" as burley in the front, burley in the middle, and burley in the rear. I feel this is a very apt description. I plan to order some more soon. Way to go Cornell and Diehl! You have given this burley guy endless hours of smoking enjoyment! Keep up the good work!
