C&D Flake Burley Flake # 1
The presentation of the tobacco is more like a broken flake. Thin slices of red and brown tobacco with the buttery scent of burley and the subtle sweetness of the virginias coming through. Packing was simple. After the charring light, the strength of the tobacco immediately makes its presence known. As the bowl progresses, so does the subtle spice of the perique. The nut butter of the burley covers the virginias nicely, but not so much that the sweetness is completely muted. My other piper friend couldn't stand the taste or the strength. I liked the strength, but I'm coming to find burley forward tobaccos take some getting used to, but they are worth the time to get to know. I really enjoy the pure tobacco taste of this blend. but I've had other burley blends, but this is for sure the strongest. I think the strength of this puts Irish Flake and Royal Yacht in the dust. It's something to experience for itself. I've been mixing this with GL Pease's Navigator to give that already strong tobacco a little more punch. Worth a try if you like strong tobacco! this for me is a perfect after dinner smoke. I'm pretty nicotine resistant, so if you're not, make sure to have this on a full stomach. This flake is straight tobacco with no chaser!

There's good and bad for me about this blend!
The good is it's 10 note/room note is pleasant, the taste is pleasant; however the nicotine content is very high which for me it kicked my butt a little bit. I still like it though and recommend it.

review of C and D Burley Flake no. 1
I purchased this particular tobacco in search of a rich strong burley smoke. I am glad to say I wasn't disappointed at all! To me, it has a rich burley taste, like chocolate or oatmeal or nutiness. The virginia and perique are a nice condimental addition. I normally smoke Old Joe Krantz and Five Brothers alternately throughout the day. I usually reserve this one for my evening smoke before bed time. Its pretty stout and strong. However, its just a nice smoke to relax and enjoy and contemplate on things. So, yes, I give this five stars. Its a good one if you like rich burleys with a strong rich flavor. Nicatine content is on par as well. Another job well done by Cornell and Diehl!

Stronger than Irish flake!
Oh my. Strong nicotine hit in a very tasty blend. Love it. The "flakes" are perfect for loading in a small bowl and squashing any desire for a cigarette. Doesn't bite when sipped. P&C are awesome. Blazing fast delivery.

I love this stuff!
I've just started smoking Burley blends, I generally smoke English or straight Virginia. Since I have so much respect for C & D I picked this up. Full flavored, bodied and strength with that nutty character Burley provides. I was caught off guard yesterday morning however. While walking my dog I smoked a bowl of this on an empty stomach. I don't recommend doing that at all. Now, my body has the DNA and makeup to handle Mr. Nic. With that said, if I'm suggesting eating something beforehand, you better do it! I recommend this to anyone who loves Burley. However, I'm sure the Burley lovers out there already know about this stuff.

Customer Testimonials
Man this is a nice strong basic burley blend. it WILL hit you in the gut with the nicotine level. I find that smoked gently she's pretty smooth but with the Red VA and perique it'll snap at ya if I pull in it like a Freight Train. All in all this stuff is good in my opinion as I do like strong tobacco. The last three tins I recieved were already bulging at the seams! FANTASTIC! I put one away to see it it'll bust itself out! LOL
