If you're a Latakiaphile, you're going to love Cornell & Diehl da Vinci. This hearty blend consists of 75% Latakia, supported by C&D's well-known Burleys and some bright Virginia. Deeply smoky, da Vinci is a slow-burning, cool-smoking blend with intense smokiness. If you can't get enough of the black Cyprian leaf, this is the perfect blend for you.

Pleasant surprise!
Not quite what I was expecting, however, it was a pleasant surprise. Rich burley with a hint of sweetness and the familiar Lat. Finish. This blend gives the taste of aged Latakia, very smooth smoke!

DaVinci is Da Bomb.
I have tried other DaVinci's at other tobacco shops they're not as strong because of the Latakia I prefer this brand. If you like a stronger and richer flavor you will like this.

Another stellar C&D tobacco
I'm very much a Latakia smoker—almost exclusively. So, finding tobaccos within that genre that are still perceptively different from one another, is sometimes a challenge. C&D's da Vinci has always been in my rotation. A classic.

Sophisticated Lat Bomb
It might actually be disingenuous to label this a lat bomb in any way but in the un-burnt aroma; the tin note hits like a very pleasant brick. The flavor is deep with wonderful put-out campfirey notes with a slight burnt sweetness, very full and ever-evolving as you smoke. To me, at least, this has that floral, incense quality Latakia sometimes has but in this, it's quite forward without ever muddying the other subtleties, and it never intrudes on the powerful, wonderfulf, deep smoke flavor and aroma. Can't comment on room note: screened-in porch. Overall: phenomonal, chewy mouth-feel; exquisite, cool burn; voluptuous plumes of smoke and it burns fairly slow. If you like your Englishes robust, complex and wickedly enjoyable with a stout cup of coffee, this might be your blend.

Bold but smooth
This is a Latakia blast for sure. It has a very bold flavor, yet remains a very smooth smoke. Great late-night pipe

Close second to my favorite Cornell & Diehl Pirate Kake !!!
Customer Testimonials
Didnt like it at first but Im not a burly fan but I will say that after a few bowls of this blend it has gotten better and is more enjoyable. Id reccomed if your not much of a heavy latakia lover.
This stuff is really good. Strong and smooth, and a mouth watering scent in the tin. Smoking a bowl before bed puts me right to sleep. If there's one latakia blend I like a little bit more it's C & D's Pirate Cake, but they're both excellent.

In a word....WOW!! Back when I was 17 years old, I smoked a pipe. I'm now 57 and getting back into it. When I opened this can of Cornell & Diehl da Vinci, the aroma took me back to those days of sitting around with my dad and brother, smoking my pipe and playing cards, penny pitch, or rolling dice. I knew less then than I do now about tobaccos, but I guess I liked Latakia then just like I do now. As always, give it a try. if you don't like it... send it to me!
