Cornell & Diehl Joie de Vivre is a member of the Cellar Series, meaning that it was blended to be at its peak when aged 10 years. This blend uses rich red Virginia, combined with Latakia, Perique, Katerini (a Turkish varietal), and a touch of unflavored black Cavendish. Aging will amplify the sweetness and soften the Latakia. I held this tin for a year before opening. When I opened it I noticed that it had a pungent aroma that wasn't particularly pleasant. However, it proved to be a pleasant, smooth smoke and the room note was very nice. I would definitely buy again.

This is well put together tobacco. It is not overly sweet and yet can be enjoyed all day! A plus is I get great comments on the room note as well.

Wow, what a great blend! The Latakia is a little subdued which really lets the VAs and Orientals shine...and let's not forget the perique! Fear not there is more than enough Lat in this, its simply in perfect order. This crumbles easily, packs well, and takes to the match quite well.
