Cornell & Diehl King Cake

Cornell & Diehl King Cake is something out of the ordinary that will appeal to aromatic and non-aromatic fans. This is a crumble cake made of sweet Virginia and black Cavendish, a touch of Orientals,  with a dash of Perique. It has a wonderful top note, applied with a light enough hand that the excellent tobaccos have the chance to shine through. King Cake is a nice change of pace for the aromatic lover, but VaPer enthusiasts will find this to be very enjoyable as well.

Best one Ive tried!
My favorite so far! Get a bit of cherry, vanilla and sometimes doughy bready notes from this one. Really love its subtle aromatic qualities.

Enjoyable
It has a rich aroma while still in the tin. I've enjoyed the flavor while smoking it also as it tends to remind me to enjoy yourself with a richness of smoke and taste . It is a bit heavier blend to what I normally get but it is one I will buy again.

Sweet Enough for a King
Very sweet for a non-aromatic! Love it and my dog and my lady don’t mind the room note very much at all. Thanks for the great customer service guys and gals!

Delish
My first cake as a pretty new Piper. I enjoyed the rum notes to this, there's also some good vanilla in there to soften it. Lots going on, but in a relaxing way, and without being cloying. Definitely recommend.

Tasty treat
If you put honey in a cup of breakfast blend coffee, this is a perfect treat.

Very Interesting Blend
This is quite an interesting blend. I've smoked it in three different pipes, a Peterson Bulldog, a Bones Poker, and an Orlik 806. I opened the tin after a year of aging and stored it in a mason jar. It's a little moist so I suggest drying it a little while after rubbing it out. The tin aroma screams confection but this is anything but a sweet aromatic. The components marry well with cavendish keeping it rounded and smooth, the perique adding some spice, and the orientals peeking through. I need to buy another couple of tins and try them after cellaring even longer. It's very good, but I think it will get better with aging. Probably worth 4.5 stars, but that wasn't an option.

Awesome blend
Cornell and Diehl knows how to make great blends. Best part , can be smoked now or cellared for 8-10 years , which might be spectacular . Virginian tobaccos age extremely well in long run. I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Unless you buy multiple tins !! Enjoy

A very nice aromatic as-is,
A very nice aromatic as-is, I can't wait to try it with at least a year of age on it. Less sweet than may he expected, but doesn't bite and has enough complexity to interest an experienced Piper.

Bring on the King!
There's almost a sweet, real peanut buttery flavor to this tasty cake. Mercy! And a sugary, not overly sweet, fruity, confectionery delight to it. Add a little spice, and Ouch! This cake is good!
