Cornell & Diehl Mountain Camp

Cornell & Diehl Mountain Camp is a big and bold Latakia blend with a nice helping of Perique. It’s made more fragrant and complex by the addition of Turkish, sweeter because of the Virginia, and given a stout backbone from the judicious use of Burley. When you're sitting around the fire after a day of fishing or hiking, C&D's Mountain Camp is a perfect way to end the day.

Little bit of younger bite for me but if you take your time it is very enjoyable!

A definite sleeper
I was not prepared for this blend, I for one kind'a shy away from burleys, or I should say this amount of burley. It turned out to be a wonder smoke. Creamy, musty, an very balanced. It has puhed me to try more burley blends. Late evening, or a lazy afternoon is great for MC. Large bowl briars (320 bowl is perfect) with a slow steady draw. Leaves no doddle, fine gray ash. DOES NOT BITE even when push.

C&D Mountain Camp
A wonderful rich smoke, robust flavor, and a healthy dose of vitamin N.

Mountain Camp by Cornell and Diehl
I usually smoke Habana Daydream and Haunted Bookshop and gave Mountain Camp a try and was not disappointed. It maintains the flavors I like from the others yet distinct in itself.

Very woodsy english.
A good stout woodsy english, lots of lat, great smell, one of the best for lat smell, slight bite, warm, better than proper english... a good strong lat english.

complex, yet a bit harsh.
When first lighting up the first thing one notices is the smokey flavor of the latikia, which is quite pleasant if you are one who enjoys a good latikia. After a few puffs the Virginia starts to shine through along with the perique, which is just as the description insinuates, sweet and spicy with a little bit of tang. After about a third of a bowl, the burly begins to take over the flavor a bit, but by now one can taste all the ingredients, giving this blend a very complex flavor. However, if you are the type who likes to smoke the dottle, you can forget it one this blend. About half to a third of the bowl becomes really nasty and it has a really bad finish. I do like the nicotine content though, which seems to be rather high. I like this blend after work to relax and wind down a bit. Therefore I have given this blend a rating of three stars out of five.
