Cornell & Diehl Oak Alley, one of the Cellar Series tobaccos, marries red Virginias with a combination of Burleys, to which a condimental amount of Perique and Katerini Turkish are added. After extended aging, you can expect a blend with a dark fruitiness and nice body. Although it's a tasty blend to smoke fresh, you'll get the optimal smoke when you cellar some for the long term. For a singular experience that gets better with age, stock up on some of C&D's Oak Alley.

If Casey Jones smoked a pipe, this would be his tobacco.
Oak Alley is a fantastic tobacco. The crumble cake stays fresh for ages and is easy to prepare, pack, and smoke. The flavor is like freshly-baked cookies with some classic Virginia taste as well as a touch of fruitiness and oriental spiciness to keep things interesting. Nicotine content is fairly mild. If you want a slow and relaxing smoke, however, look elsewhere. This tobacco does not release its flavor unless it is burning hot, and I was totally underwhelmed until I realized this. You have to push it. Hard. Even though I really like this blend, I rarely smoke it. I usually reach for English blends, cigar-leaf blends, or Peterson's Irish Flake. When I want to really sit and relax with a pipe, I smoke straight Virginias or more delicate Virginia blends. When I am stressed, though, I have yet to find a better tobacco to stuff into my giant meerschaum and chug away on like an out-of-control choo-choo train.

Cornell & Diehl Oak Alley
My Tin traveled a long way to get here to me in Brazil. This is a amazing VaPer. Once you open the tin the wonderful sweet and spice smell will blow you up! They say you should save it for a couple years, but I doubt one can do it.

Always an enjoyable smoke...
Just a cool burning, no nonsense tobacco. Beautiful interplay of the blended tobaccos, keeps me coming back for more. This blend is already wonderful to smoke... I can't wait to smoke the tins I have cellared away.
