Cornell & Diehl Sweet English

Cornell & Diehl's Sweet English is a singular take on Latakia blends. A tradition American Cavendish-style base of mellow Burley, sweet Virginia and soft black Cavendish is made much more intriguing by the inclusion of some rich Cyprian Latakia. The mixture is completed by the addition of essences of caramel and vanilla.

A solid and pleasing smoke
An excellent all day smoke, combines some of the best aspects of English style tobacco and an aromatic. This is my go to tobacco and I use it fairly often in various home blends.

Beginners POV
I should caveat this short review by saying that I have just started smoking a pipe and I have a huge preference for strong aromatics. That being said I don't mind trying new things as long as I don't have to spend much money on them - until I find out that I like them then it doesn't matter what they cost. I was not pleased with this smoke, to me it was slightly bitter (I think what is called tongue bite) and for me the room note was not very appealing. I am sure for others this may be a great buy but since I prefer strong and sweet aromatic (my current favorite is CPCC Caramel Rush), it does not work for me and I will not buy more.

What's in a name?
A wonderful caramel flavoring in the background - room note smells like carmanilla campfire to me. Mild and sweet American blend combined with a mild tasting English background. The name is pretty spot-on

Disappointed
I've been trying out different English blends to find a couple to stick with. This that I received wasn't it. My order was dry and sorta crumbly. Smelled different that other English tobacco's that I've tried. So far Peterson's Wild Atlantic has been my favorite.

Being Honest
Well, It really wasn't the type of smoke for me it was a little overbearing and had a aftertaste that i didn't care for I cant tell anyone not to try it because it may be just what your looking for but that's how we learn and expand out appreciation for different flavors so on to the next smoke and the next there's a lot of good tobacco out there.
