Satisfying pipe. A bit of extra heat thru the briar, but good overall.

I was looking for a smaller pipe for shorter smokes. This is a bit bigger than I ideally was looking for, a bowl lasts 30-45 mins depending on the tobacco being smoked. The pipe is lightweight and makes for a good clencher. The only issue is that it developed a hot spot early on and the varnish bubbled up in one area due to the heat. I ended up using a flat head screwdriver to scrape off all the varnish. This took about 30-40 minutes to complete. I ended up with a rather nice looking matte finish that still retained the original stain coloration. I actually prefer the look and feel of the pipe now compared to it's original configuration. After taking the varnish off the pipe stays noticably cooler and is a decent smoker. Despite the issue with the finish, I am overall happy with the purchase.

It's a fine pipe for the price. My only quibble would be that I would prefer the bowl were about 2-3 mm shorter. A little too tall and narrow for me and I'm sure I'll trim it down one of these days.

So far I really like this pipe. I am enjoying the Bent stem as it makes it easier to all the pipe in your teeth while you’re smoking. I like the finish. It is smooth and feels good in your hand. I also like the size of the bowl because I have big fingers and I can get my finger all the way into the bowl to pack my tobacco.

Love this super light weight Gem of a pipe. Fine Italian craftsmanship build. We be looking for more along this line.

This pipe is featherweight and smokes very good! I had a better experience with this pipe(on tasting flavors) over my corn cob churchwarden. Churchwardens are my favorite, but this pipe has a PERFECT bowl depth. It's just under an inch. How/Why people end up liking 1.5-3inch bowls is bizarre to me. Smoking a pipe is supposed to be a treat, not a chore. And THIS pipe is indicative of my piping philosophy: Have a treat, not a meal.

Great little pipe!

I’ve smoked a few bowls in my bent Apple Crown Featherweight, and it’s a great little smoker. It appears visibly smaller than an average pipe, and is decidedly lighter, which makes for an effortless clench. My intent was to grab something I could smoke down in 10 minutes during the Wisconsin winters, but the Featherweight’s smaller dimensions still make for about a 1/2 hour smoke for me. YMMV. I’ll be back for the other shapes eventually.
