I like this one a lot - not as much as the Blood Red Moon, but a lot. Abacus is sweet, warm, and nutty; not overly flavored at all, or at least, not in a way that 'stands out' from the taste of the tobacco. While I haven't been smoking a pipe for all that long, Cult is rapidly turning into my favorite brand - can't wait to try all their other offerings.

Abacus is a tobacco with a pleasant room note that everyone will love and is fantastic for the smoker as well. If you like hazelnut and vanilla this will work well for you. It is not too moist and doesn't goop up your pipe. Highly recommended.

Very enjoyable. I am new to smoking a pipe, but I have tried a whole bunch of tobaccos. I am giving this 4, because I am comparing it to Cult Blood Red Moon, which is AMAZING!!! That is a more potently flavored, cherry/chocolate/vanilla flavored aromatic. This is more subtle, but great if that is what you are in the mood for.

Wonderful. I used to get my tobacco from a local cigar/pipe shop that crafts their own blends. I moved away a couple years ago and have not been able to find anything that came close to my favorite blend from the shop. THIS is as close as it gets without being the real thing. It's delightfully sweet without being overbearing. I'm glad I tried this before the Cult Blood Red Moon. I was not a fan of that at all and had I tried it first I would've never found Abacus. Absolutely will be buying much more of this in the future.

Very nice smoke. The aroma and taste is pleasant, not overpowering. Easy to smoke to the bottom. Different from many of the other aromatics in a very good way. You really catch the notes of hazelnuts in it which makes it a unique aromatic. Well worth the five stars in my opinion.

The room note is very pleasant and it’s description of “unobtrusive” seems spot-on. What stood out to me, more than tin or room note, was the distinct lack of tongue bite - especially for an aromatic. The flavor profile is evident, with Hazelnut at least as much as Vanilla dominating the palate. That said, a beginner won’t enjoy this tobacco. If you can appreciate a solid aromatic with no tongue bite, this is a special tin. For the newbies, I still say: for aromatic dogmatism, stick to the Captain Black; for success and no tongue bite, find a classic Latakia.

I'm not big on reviews cause everybody's pallet is different. Your really just have to go out there and try or sample different tobaccos to see what suits you. I found this on to be mild and not over bearing to the taste, the aroma is very enjoyable to the smell.

I had previously ordered Cult's Blood Red Moon and liked it so I followed up with a few other of Cult's offerings. This is my favorite tobacco of everything I have tried so far (relatively new pipe smoker). The nuances of hazelnuts, coco, and a hint of vanilla are amazing! Highly recommended aromatic.

Cult never fails to impress me with their creative blends. I've tried a few of their different tins during the Cult sale, all were highly enjoyable but Cult Abacus has become my new favorite. There is so much depth to the aromas and flavors that develop while smoking. Notes of chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla, dried fruit, sweet hay-like virginia notes, deep sweet cavendish...it's a roller coaster of flavors and subtle nuances that develop throughout the smoke. It's definitely something I don't see myself ever getting tired of enjoying. Even if your not necessarily into Aromatics, Cult Abacus offers an experience any pipe smoker can enjoy.

Abacus is a nice smoke - burns well, packs easy. Smells great in the can - hazelnut is the most present smell. I thought that would come through while smoking, but it doesn't really. As the description notes, Abacus' aromatic characteristics are gentle. IMO, they are gentle to the point of not really being noticeable. It's a good, mellow smoke, but so light on the aromatics as to have little effect. So, if that's what you're looking for - this is it.

People say it tastes different every time and it does, but not really. Trust me when I say this will make sense to you. It is a very complex smoke. Different flavors roll around your palate when you smoke it, every time you smoke it. Depends on what you ate or drank or just smoked. Any which way, this tobacco is 100% quality. Did you just have something English or Balkan, then yes this will be super sweet. If this is all you are smoking until the tin is gone? Hold onto your hat because one bowl will be vanilla forward, the next will be nutty and the next will be chocolaty. Any which way, everyone else around you will enjoy and ask what that is.

I found this to have a very pleasing aroma and smooth on the pallet. This, when dried out, makes a wonderful addition when rolling your own cigarettes too. I found very good notes of vanilla and carmel.

I don't know if I like this or not. Ok....I almost love it; there is one caveat though. Every bowl is a little different than the last. Is that a good thing? I'm a weekend/holiday smoker, and for the most part I hear smokers who talk about consistency in their tobaccos. This is not a consistent tobacco. Maybe that's why I like it.

Cult Abacus I found it to be very mellow smoke and I told by my wife it has a nice smell. It is one I go to when I just want to relax and mellow out and have a good smoke. Blood Red Moon I found very good in taste and it also had a nice smell when smoked and not bitter nor a bite. I will have to order more.

Really nice tobacco here. Very mild, but not overly sweet and easy to puff on all day. Nice vanilla notes. Stays lit, but does not burn terribly hot. I've been breaking in my new pipe with this tobacco and have really been enjoying the experience.

So far my favorite tobacco. Smokes cool, no bite, has a smooth great tasting tobacco quality that I enjoy very much.

This aromatic does not disappoint. Initial nutty taste, very smooth with hints of vanilla and cocoa. Unlike many aromatics I've tried it's not too moist. By far one of my favorite tobaccos yet. I have not experienced any tongue bite at all. I will definitely be purchasing the other 2 blends.

Very nice, cool, nutty and chocolaty. A great "desert" smoke, and evening night cap. I'm skeptical of a lot of aromatics, but this is quite satisfying. Thanks for sending it in the TOTM guys! This is one of a handful of aromatic blends which is turning me into an aero fan. The tin note is lead by hazelnut, which is backed up by cocoa and then vanilla. It actually tastes like it smokes with the cocoa and nuts giving it a sweet dessert like flavor. It is mild, easily smoked and stays dry for me as long as I don't smoke it too quickly. It is more subtle than Blood Red Moon, and has more dimension than Lane BCA & Ole Shenandoah 76, which are my other favorited aromatics. I like it for my first smoke of the day.

Mellow blend, good smoke. Cult's Blood Moon was over the top with cherry, in a good way, I liked it. Abacus is on the mellow side, very nutty vanilla tin note. Flavors hold while smoking it, a lot of other aros don't. No bite. When I finish this tin I don't know if I'll re-order, not because of the blend, but because there are so many others to try out there. It is worth a try.

This stuff is pretty good. The casings are not as dominant in this mix as in the Blood Red Moon Cult. This would be a good all day smoke for any aromatic fan.
