The Ryback blends are fine cut tobaccos using the dark and dark-fired leaf for bold flavor and rich body; very reminiscent of some Dutch-style tobaccos. These high-quality Ryback tobaccos provide a superb taste and aroma that is consistent in every bag of each well-balanced blend.
Ryback Regular is a hearty and robust shag cut, utilizing the bold flavor and body of a dark-fired leaf.
Ryback Gold consists of the same dark-fired tobacco as Ryback Regular but is lightened up a bit by adding a shag cut Virginia for sweetness.

I used to smoke Marlboro Gold and this Ryback Gold was too strong for me. I prefer Windsail Platinum for smoothness.
Ryback Gold is not a very strong tobacco, which made it perfect for a late morning, 30 minute smoke with a little bit of coffee. I like it. But would I purchase it again? I'm not sure. Nothing really stood out for me. It has a reminiscence of just a cigarette, but perhaps this would be better suited for blending into an aromatic for a tobacco flavor boost. I recommend it, but personally, it's not my favorite. Some may bellow "Gold medal right here!", but I'm not one of those souls.
Excellent full flavored taste. Not harsh at all. Fine cut. Way less costly than many other tobaccos that are often not as good as this one. I don't find the D&R Ryback Regular taste to be overpowering at all. Try Picayune from D&R to experience what very strong tobacco is all about. You'll run back to the more even taste of Ryback!
I was pleasantly surprised by Ryback Regular. It is a very good bargain for the price. If you are a fan of full bodied Burleys and Dark Fired leaf then give this a try. The only thing I can fault it on is the fact that as you get to the bottom half of the bowl you need to sip lightly to avoid the bitterness that often comes in dark cured tobaccos. But for the price I can't hold that against D&R. I will definitely add this to my rotation and order more.
Daughters & Ryan keep amazing me with the quality of the products they offer and even more so at the price they do it at. I have tried both Ryback and Ryback Gold. The former is a wonderful hearty blend of Burley and dark fired leaf. While it has substance it is not harsh or overpowering by any means. The Gold offers just a nice hint of sweetness and balance brought forward by the virginia leaf blended into the mix. This is one of my morning blends I look forward to with a nice cup of coffee. This also would be a blend that I could imagine being smoked around a campfire as Officers reviewed the movent of troops during the civil war. Just a good 100% natural offering in either blend that would be a wonderful addition to your smoking rotation and can be enjoyed any time of the day or night. D & R keep up the great work.
I love the taste and the incredible aroma but I am not man enough to handle the nicotine content. I am enjoying it by filling half the pipe with Cube Cut Burley and the other half with Ryback.
