Decatur Black Cherry

smokes good, some cherry aroma,

Great taste but it still has more of a tongue bite. This makes is a once in a while smoke. Wish they could make it a bit more mild.

I smoked for 40 years, then switched over to Vaping seven years ago. Three years ago I started extracting my own tobacco flavors (cold maceration). Years ago, when I smoked a pipe, I would wander from one cherry blend to another. And I have vaped several other cherry tobacco flavors. But Decatur Black Cherry IS the flavor I was searching for all along. Nestled in a Virginia/ Burley/ Cavendish base is a top note of clean, sweet Cherry flavor. This selection is neither harsh or overpowering, yet the full flavor delivers the satisfaction I had been looking for. Aromatics tend to lose their top note several months after extraction, but Decatur Black Cherry is the exception to the rule. The flavor last for months and is still delightful. This one is one of my Keepers, and is included in every order at P&C. If this smokes as well as it vapes, I would call it a 'must try'.

I'm 63. I have smoked a pipe since I was 17. I've tried a lot of cherry blends over the years. Decatur's Black Cherry is a nice cherry blend. It'a mild, smokes cool, no bite. I can taste a little cherry with every puff. Very nice room note. I will be buying more!!!!

This is one of my Favorite Pipe tobaccos. Taste like cherry and smells AMAZING!

This Black cherry is a perfect flavor on it own or if you are adventurous and want a great blend, add whiskey to it in a half n half ratio and its another perfect flavor, overall it is a top-notch flavor.

Captain black cherry Cavendish is my favorite and if this wasn't so expensive it would be my favorite I love it

Over The YEARS, I've Tried NUMEROUS Cherry Blends😊! I Liked Them BY & LARGE, But DECATUR Black Cherry😲? In A Class BY ITSELF😮😃👍! SMOOTH, COOL Smoking! The AROMA Is ENTICING To Say The LEAST😮! Sorta' Like A CHERRY Turnover, But In A PIPE😉👍! SCRUMPTIOUS😃😛😋!

This grew on me. After trying real blunt tobaccos from p&c, this is a gem!

bites the tongue harshly

Full of flavor! Can be overpowering. No bite and good room note. If Cherry flavor is your looking for, look no further. Can be too much if you just want a hint of Cherry and some may find it a bit to rich.

Maybe my pallet isn't as refined as my compatriots but I couldn't taste any cherry at all. In fact, I also ordered the Decatur Rum and didn't taste any rum. The two tasted exactly the same. Not impressed. The Captain Black Cherry was much better.

doesn`t feel natural. it has strong cherry flavor, must be good for cherry tobacco fans. not bad, but wouldn't be my everyday.

Very strong cherry fragrance. As I was packing my pipe it reminded me of a jolly rancher sort of. The room note is very Pleasant and distinctive. You can deathly smell the cherry. It's a very good occasional smoke but not a daily smoke for sure.My brother absolutely loves it when he comes over. And that was really my main goal when choosing that one is for friends and family when they come over & want to smoke a pipe with me!

Since my local smoke shop closed a couple years ago, I haven't had any decent bulk cherry tobacco... until now!

The Decatur black cherry delivers a great smoke and great aroma for the price. A definite must.

Tried a small amount and enjoyed it. Went to order more but it was on back order

I ordered an ounce of this and am smoking last bowl as I write. This was a decent smoke and I could easily detect the cherry up front but no other flavors. About halfway through the bowl the cherry left but it was still not a bad smoke as it was not hot and it also burned well. I gave it 3 stars because it is only cherry for a short time which seems to me to be a common occurrence in the few cherries I have smoked. I will keep searching but would not hesitate to recommend this. I smoked this in a Vauen Classic with a bent brandy and no filter.

What a wonderful smoke. I pruchased 1 oz. through PnC. It came in the pouch a little dry, but definitely not wet enough to produce a gurgle. I did my initial light, it went out, and the second light held. I immediately noticed the black cherry note, but not too strong. The creamy touch of vanilla and honey were in the background, but not too noticeable. Nice balance between the casing and the tobaccos, and there was a nice amount of smoke that came forth. Also there was no real bite to speak of. It is a real nice blend to have after an evening meal or mid-afternoon. I gave this four stars and not five because it will not be an everyday smoke for me. It is an enjoyable occasional treat, just like eating a slice of pie.

It's not an overbearing cherry flavor but the cherry is obvious. No other flavors jump out. It's good. Smokes cool.

Ordered an ounce to try, wish I had ordered a pound.
