Decatur Care Kit

Dan's Staff Pick - $49.99

A couple of years ago, when Decatur jumped back into the pipe world with their exotic wood pipe furniture, no one would have predicted just how fast their product line would grow, The Decatur Pipe Shield line of cleaning products caught the P&C Faithful by storm, then they added pipes, pipe tobaccos and a pipe lighter to their lineup. This sampler will give you an opportunity to try a nice selection of their value-oriented products at an unbelievably low price.

It begins with a handsome, bark-rusticated Decatur pipe - a super-lightweight briar with a nice texture. Then we include an assortment of cleaning items - Briar-Fresh to clean the airway, Haze-Away to remove oxidation from vulcanite stems, Shine-Brite to bring the luster back, No-Buff Wax to polish your briars without a buffing wheel, No-Ox stem oil, to protect against oxidation and the Decatur Polishing Cloth to add a quick shine after a smoke. Finish it off with the soft flame, side-firing Decatur Pipe Lighter, featuring a piezo electric ignition. All this for less than $50? That's Decatur value.

Recommended for routine maintenance
These polishing compounds are very good for daily/ weekly/monthly stem maintenance. If you slobber all over your vulcanite stems, then leave them out in the Air for two years, this won’t help. You’ll need a professional clean/polish job.I tried it out on a stem where the oxidation down by the button wasn’t too deep into the rubber.15-20 minutes of rubbing with both grades got 98% of it out, followed by the stem oil,and I really could’ent See the oxidation any more, just a nice, black shiney surface. My polishing cloth turned brown from the oxidized rubber,so I know the compounds work.If you use this faithfully on your working pipes, your stems will be protected all the time.
