Dobie's Four Square - Cavendish

I'm new to this pipe smoking hobby, but as I do with all hobbies... I dove in 110%. Having said that, I've picked up a few of these Dobie's Tins and must say, I haven't been disappointed yet!. The Black Cavendish in particular is my favorite of their line yet. (Although I have a tin of their English on the way). Although seemingly damp, it burns well right out of the tin with out requiring time to dry. It took a minute or five to figure out what it was that I was tasting... Black Liquorice? There MUST BE an Anise Casing in this? I'm told there is not. As per my Italian heritage, I am fond of the occasional anise biscotti, although I have always loathed Black Liquorice. Being as the Anise is very subtle, I would put this in line with the Biscotti and not the liquorice. I give it 5 stars. It is part of my regular rotation. I smoke this one ALMOST everyday.

First time I ever had a satisfactory Black Cavendish was about 5 years ago. Never have been dissapointed. If one like aromatic and mild smke, try this and you will get the idea!!

perfect stuff

Nothing about this to complain about, but I have other brands I like much better. The aroma in the room is fairly week for a cavendish and that is one of the things I enjoy about pipe smoking. The taste is okay and the bite is a little more than I expected, but not unbearable. I have brands I spend less on and enjoy more is the bottom line.

First time I tried Dobie's I loved it! Then I tried about a dozen other brands and blends. Coming back to this wonderful Canandish was a real pleasure. MILD! No tongue bite and a beautiful burn! This is better than any other, about 14 blends and cuts, I'm happy to be back! BEST SMOKE EVER.

I have yet to try it myself, but my pop says it's the best of all the tobaccos I've ever bought him!

Great Cavendish!. Even burn (flaked) and great aroma. It is a "Go To" when other tobaccos get boring or tasteless.

The black cavendish has a deeply rich flavor. Very light toasted, brown sugar note. No nic-hit to speak of. Burns cool, clean and silky smooth with a very consistent flavor. Requires a few relights because the tobacco is mildly moist. Leaves just a little moisture in the bowl. Easily burns to ash. The after taste and room notes pleasantly linger. An easy going all day smoke.

Mild and aromatic to the maximum. A Cavendish worth every cent!

Received this as a compliment to a special "KIT". I tried another tin sampler, while it was good, I was amazed at the sweet pleasurable aroma and soft taste of this beautiful tobacco. I have since ordered more as it is wonderful! I have tried many custom blends and "popular" Cavendish tobaccos bus this is the finest. Trust this "You'll love it".
