The tin note of this Black Cavendish is reminiscent of a Snickers bar with a hint of warm cream. Deep, dark black tobaccos inside look oily to the eye and feel silky to the touch. A new standard in Black Cavendish has been born.

Mild, faintly sweet flavor
I find this tobacco to be very mild with a faint flavor of rum. It can be smoked all day and I enjoy it between coffee and before dinner. Its mild flavor is lost with the bolder flavor of coffee and while sweet, again I find it is not strong enough for an after dinner smoke. The room note is wonderful and gets many compliments from non-smokers. It is not strong or offensive, but a delicate aroma of rum and vanilla. I prefer a bit bolder of a tobacco so I will probably not order it again but that is my taste and no fault of the tobacco. It burns nicely in a small to medium sized pipe, but can build up a bit of moisture in my larger pipes.

Very Nice!!
As a Captain Black Original smoker, I was looking for something in the same taste family but something a little different. This sure hit the spot. When I smoked cigars, I always had a Drew Estate in my humidor and I remember the great taste of their cigars. Well their pipe tobacco doesn't disappoint. Great flavor, nice room note and it burned great. This will stay in my pipe tobacco arsenal for sure!

I'm quite new to smoking
I'm quite new to smoking a pipe so I've been trying many different blends. This is by far my favorite right now. Very light and easy on the tongue. I get compliments all the time about the aroma. Stays lit better than a lot of the others I have tried. Highly recommend!

Wonderful, Sweet Creamy Chocolate. Like smoking a truffle.

Absolutely delish. Like puffing a snickers bar and mild even mellow enough to relax the mind and really smells great for anyone sitting near you. My girlfriend approved of the sweet aromas.

New go to tobacco for any time of the day.
I'm a noob to pipes and pipe tobacco but have been trying all sorts. From local tobacconist blends to Captain Black Cherry pharmacy pouches. This Drew estate has bested everything for a smooth, any time smoke. Though it is a bit wet, that sort of lends itself to the style of smoker I am; maybe a bowl a week and letting the tobacco breath a bit between smokes. Note: Heavier smokers or when you want to burn the whole bowl in a sitting, take some out of the tin and let it breath on a plate for a bit. It is quite wet and can be hard to keep lit.

Consistent-Wife Approved
Smoked several tins and always consistent. Great room note, fairly dry smoke, and great price. Wife doesn't mind smell of this one, same with other non-smokers.

Very Good
Pleasant aromatic I can smoke regularly without growing tired of it. Not quite as pleasing as 7th Avenue Blonde but intend to keep a tin of this Toasted Black Cavendish on hand. Drew Estate blends are a favorite.

Drew Estate Toasted Black Cavendish

Especially as an introduction to pipe-smoking, this tobacco is just about as great as they come. From the tin, you can smell a sweet perhaps plum aroma that, to me, was pretty mouthwatering. As far as the room note goes I had to appeal to those around me. Perhaps its my nose but, I couldn't smell any of it while smoking a bowl. However, according to those around me it's about as appealing as tobacco smoke is going to smell. I've never had a complaint shouted or nasty glare thrown in my direction smoking this in public so, I think that's a good sign. If you're a new smoker or want to try some A+ aromatics, Drew Estate did it right on this blend. Enjoy! I know I did!

A favorite *****
I love this blend...To me, it's smooth and mildly creamy/earthy..I think the toasted Cavendish gives a nice high note..I prefer it a little less moist than it came in the tin...I've reordered more...

Enough praise cannot be said!
This stuff is great. It helped me come back to my pipes and stop smoking an inferior tobacco product. When will they provide this stuff as a bulk offer? The tins are piling up. Buy this great tobacco.

just delicious
Always loved all Drew cigars so had to try this and 7th Ave Blonde. The Blonde was an acquired taste for me but once I had I did like it, but T B Cavendish hit the spot from the get! Also loved the Black Hole Sun sampler.
Customer Testimonials
Gradually working my way through Drew Estate tobaccos. This is my third type, after Central Park Stroll and Meat Pie. I like them all and they smoke very well. High quality stuff and tasty. This particular cavendish reminds me of 1Q but seems warmer and richer. An extremely comfortable, relaxing, problem-free smoke. Not syrupy, not bitey, just right.

I have had the pleasure of trying all of the Drew Estate pipe tobaccos, the smoke is impressive , lights up well and the burn is even through the whole bowl. I especially liked the toasted black Cavendish , smooth relaxing smoke , over the span of 40 years of the pipe along with a good manhatten , my taste buds are not able to pick out all of the flavors others seem to get from the hobby , but I really enjoyed this smoke , I,m on my 6th tin of it and will be hitting the button for more. Thanks PC and Drew Estates , I am one very pleased grandpa.

Great stuff! One of my favorites. Nice tin note and aroma. Smooth smoking. Similar to Ole Shenandoah, another of my favorites.

Just got this! it smells great in the tin, seems like a slight aroma of liquor. Smokes well straight out of the tin, smooth & slightly sweet. No Bite! Light to medium NIC, room note enjoyable to all. This new blend from Drew is a refined version of Captain Black, that is sure to please. It smokes very well, down to a light ash, no goop!
