Dunhill London Mixture is a beautifully balanced, medium-bodied Latakia blend with a healthy amount of exotic Turkish tobacco, which is supported by sweet Virginias. The interplay of the Turkish leaf with the Latakia steals the show and makes London Mixture another stalwart in the Dunhill line.

A Dunhill classic that will be hard to replaced
I haven't tried Peterson's version of it, but there was a reason Dunhill's mixture was so popular.

Good, But Not My Favourite
I like several Dunhill blends. London Mixture is smooth, flavourful, but has just a slight harshness or bitterness to it that keeps it out of my personal Top 3 (Elizabethan, Durbar, and Aperitif).

Easygoing smoke!
Can smoke everyday without a bite.

Not what I was expecting
The Dunhill London Mixture is not my cup of tea, but I am trying to keep a open mind about the flavor it is different then what I'm use to smoking.

A British Classic
My favorite British blend. Flavorful and fragrant without overpowering the palate. Burns evenly. No nicotine buzz. A Dunhill classic.

Very pleasing and satisfying smoke.
Dunhill London Mixture is one of my favorite all time smoking tobacco. Love the flavor and the aroma of this satisfying and relaxing gem. Going to miss it when it's gone.

Okay, but not great
Nice smooth smoke but not a lot of flavor, or room aroma.

A favorite
I’m not a tobacco expert but this is a anytime smoke. If your not sure what u want to fire up, just reach for London Mixure. Hits the spot morning noon or night.

Doubling Down On Excellence
Both are fine smokes. Neither is on my desert island short list. If I had to pick only one London may have a slight edge. The Knight was just a shade harsh on the throat.

Good Stuff
I decided to try this one before it is discontinued with the Dunhill line. Glad I did. A well balanced English with strong Oriental overtones. It is very similar to many of the other Dunhill English blends I've tried and hard to differentiate from some of the others such as Durbar or Standard Mixture. There are subtle shades of distinction in the components but I'm not refined to enough to consistently tell them apart. Nevertheless, a good quality blend that I will be sad to see go.

It was on sale, probably for a reason
Figured I'd try it since I got the offer for a $5 tin instead of $10. Does not have a pleasant smell when you open it. It's just not the experience I was looking for. I'll stick with the aromatic tobaccos. Now I have a whole can of this stuff I don't know what to do with.

I like it a lot.
It's full-bodied and spicy, but has almost no bite.

Great Mixture
Dunhill London Mixture is an excellent mild blend. I really enjoy the Latakia and orientals that give this great taste. Burns well but not too hot. Stays lit well in my new pipe.

Dunhill London Mixture
I've always been a sucker for Dunhill and their London Mixture is no exception! The Latakia's interplay with the sweet Virginia is beautiful and the added Turkish and Oriental tobaccos give the product a smooth balanced finish with no tongue bite to be had. Dunhill London Mixture manages to be rich, woody, smokey and yet, mellow all at the same time. The flavor is consistent and has never disappointed me and it's Ribbon Cut makes for an easy convenient smoke.

Excellent blend
Long story short: a great blend. The grassy/hay like VA tends to the forefront and is slightly sweet, the latakia is in the backround and the orientals are perfectly balanced so as to offer a dry, smokey-sweet and spicy to the smoke. Very smooth, not a lat bomb at all. One of Dunhill's best blends.

Classic Dunhill Pipe Tobacco
Dunhill London Mixture is a classic—mild, flavorful, and smooth. My only fear is that Dunhill seems to be indicating that they are getting out of the tobacco business. It’s true that Dunhill tobaccos have been ‘licensed’ to other manufacturers for several years now, but they have tasted the same to me. Let’s hope they will not disappear!

Dunhill London Mixture
Good tobacco! Similar to Standard Mixture, which I also like, but with more of the Oriental taste.

Every Morning
London Mixture has been my first pipe for a long time now. Mild but full-bodied, with just enough spice to make it interesting, it packs, lights and stays lit easily. Just the thing to accompany my first cup of coffee as I plan my day.

A fond farewell to Dunhill. . .maybe.
I have smoked London Mixture off and on for the past 30 years, and this still remains my favorite mild Balkan-style English. The orientals are forward in the blend while the Latakia stays pleasantly in the background. Cool smoking but slightly exotic, this Dunhill staple is a perfect introduction for the uninitiated who would like to venture into the world of English/Balkan tobaccos. But be forewarned: Do not get to addicted because it has been announced that British American Tobacco will be discontinuing all Dunhill pipe tobacco and cigar lines in 2018. This was just announced in February, 2017. So, unless there is another buyer for the Dunhill line down the pike, we can all say goodbye to these old and highly esteemed pipe tobaccos. Sad, so very sad.

Any Time of Day
This is a highly enjoyable blend. It will not bore you to death, but you will also keep your socks on. This is a blend I would consider reaching for at any time of the day. I would recommend this to any smoker, especially new pipers like me. Will buy more- when the wife allows!

There is no Tobacco like Dunhill Tobacco
I am a 20 year old steel eyed veteran pipe smoker, and only pipes. Dunhill is one of the worlds renowned pipe tobaccos. I may cost more per ounce than other brands, like Brigadier. But you do not get the high sugar content and bite that sugar causes. This is a very smooth, light once and burn to the bottom of the bowl quality pipe tobacco. I was first introduced to this brand 15 years ago, back then Dunhill was a litter harder to come by. It came highly recommend by my friend who actually is one of the designers and craftsman of the world famous meerschaum Pipes. I burns even, and does not flash your bowl, or clog up the shank and stem. For those veterans, you would appreciate the English Virginia and oriental blend, it has a unique bold aroma and taste which is most pleasing without all the added artificial infused flavors that seem to be popular now. I particularly love smoking this mixture while reading my favorite Sherlock Holmes and other mysteries. It seems to help draw out the historical nature of the 19th century.

Dunhill Early Morning Pipe
This is my go to blend for an enjoyable smoke. It is mild enough to smoke all day. I try various blends and brands but always come back to this, my favorite!

Top Notch
When first trying this tobacco, I thought it was okay. It was smokey, a little sharp on the Turkish, slightly tangy on the Virginia. The flavor profiles for each fought for attention. I wasn't very impressed, but it was also straight from the tin with about 10 minutes of drying time. I let it meld and marry awhile, then tried it again. I often leave my Dunhill out for 5-10 minutes before packing it. The cut was perfect, as usual; Dunhill never disappoints there. The light was good, and the burn was exemplary. This time, the flavors united. The smokiness accentuated the tanginess of the Virginia, and the spice of the Turkish wasn't at the forefront so much as mildly playing on the tongue. The Latakia starts off light on the pull, and becomes more pronounced on the exhale, especially when retrohaling. This has become a favorite. It's perfect as part of a daily rotation or as an all-day smoke.

Dunhill London Mixture first time smoke
I like this mixture very much. It has good flavor and it is mild enough to be an all day smoke. I am going to order more soon.

Good English Blend
Dunhill’s London Mixture has been my first go at an English latakia style tobacco blend, and I have really enjoyed it. To me the taste and aromas are reminiscent of campfire or bar be que smoke. I also taste a mild spiced flavor that comes and goes with the latakia smoke. I think that these spicy notes that mix with the smoke are really what makes this blend so pleasing. I feel like this mix of flavors keeps the smoking interesting throughout the bowl. Aside from the smoky aroma and flavors the tobacco burns rather cool and dry with a modest rate of puffing. I’ve never bitten my tongue on this nor had a wet bowl at the smokes end. The room note is very much like a wood fire, but not overpowering. I think this is a very good and interesting tobacco blend to smoke.

London Smog
I got this as part of the Dunhill sampler. I've been smoking a pipe for a few years and, I like most of the English blends, and the aromatics. This particular blend however, is not for me. I neither like the smell nor the taste. I cellared this for a couple of years before popping open the tin.

Dunhill London Mixture.
A great all day smoke and a good first timer English.

Too Strong
I have just started smoking pipes and the Dunhill was my first experience. I have since discovered that I like the more aromatic flavors.

Right Down the Middle
I could smoke this one all day. It's a great English blend with a nice tangy-ness held in check by the Virginias.

Learning Dunhill London Mixture
So after 32 years of smoking a pipe I finally purchased my first tin of Dunhill's famous "London Mixture". Described as "Medium cut, matured Virginian and Oriental Tobaccos. Soft and mellow flavor". The blend smokes relatively cool and burns down to a fine ash with no dottle. The pipe is left clean with no sticky wet residue So far I am ten bowls into the tin and I have been enjoying each one more and more. This is a blend that definitely requires a steeper learning curve than many other blends. The complexity of the orientals playing off the virginias against the background of latakia provides a smoking experience that takes many bowls to discover all of the various nuances of flavor it can provide. This is not a beginners blend by any means, but the seasoned pipe smoker will find many delightful adventures in this classic mixture.

Easily my favorite!
My number 1 favorite! Love the tin note, love the taste and the room note is great. The orientals and the Latakia are fantastic. GL Pease Lagonda, Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding and Frog Morton's On The Town also have a some similar attributes if you would like to diversify a bit.

5 Stars Easily
A wonderful all-day blend. I'm fond of mixing it 50/50 with Westminster for a truly sublime experience but can't imagine not having this on hand. Aging even short periods of time seem to improve it as well. 5 stars easily.

Well Balanced blend
Very nice, albeit on the mild side, as an English blend smoker i find it an enjoyable alternative to my usual Latakia heavy blends. A very nice anytime smoke.

Excellent Tobaccos, just not for me.
So. Dunhill tobaccos are excellent. All four of the tins I received were packed well, lit easily, and stayed burning throughout the smoke with minimal touchups. (Used my Peterson Irish Made Army #999) for each bowl. The only problem, and this is 100% on me and not the tobaccos; I don't like them. I've had experience with both English blends and Latakia heavy blends in the past, but these just don't seem to have any flavor. Again, this is personal preference. Great tobaccos, but not for me.

Mild and easy burning
I think "mild" is the operant word for this blend. It is smooth and burns excellently leaving no aftertaste. I give it four stars rather than five because I would have preferred a bit of sweetness. If you like an easy-going latakia, this is your blend.

I love all the Dunhill tins, smoked them in the 70's. Your BB1938 is a real joy. Super smoothe and complete burn, no bite. Keep up the good work guys. I reserve my Sasieni 4 dot Dublin just for Dunhill, only in the evenings when life slows down!!

Very Good English Mixture
This is a very smooth, light and cool smoking English mixture, the pipe stayed lit with no problems. It took right off from the first light and I only had 1 ash dump and relight. you can taste the latakia but its not overpowering. This tasted delicious all the way to the bottom of the bowl. This is an excellent representation of the original. I'm definitely adding this to my rotation, probably as a morning smoke.
Customer Testimonials
The good old London Mixture. Smoked it in a churchwarden. It is a great all day blend. There is not a lot going on, not a complex smoke, but fantastic. I can definitely see smoking this anytime in the day while you work or are reading a book. I really liked the hint of sweetness it had. Not an aromatic sweetness, but a natural sweetness from the tobacco. You'll taste it more on the back end of the flavor. Bottom Line, fantastic all day blend, can smoke it anytime of the day.

London Mixture is an excellent, no bite blend. The flavor is rich, but not to strong. I've smoked it for many years, and to my taste it is the gold standard of English tobaccos.
RB of Steele, AL
P&C's description fits perfectly. This is a classic English blend that doesn't wear out or fade and is stable from beginning to end. This is "reading" tobacco at its finest. Pour a cup of tea, settle down with a good book and a bowl full and relax.
